  1. Edit: I think the quote in my sig might even be from him. Yup, that's him. Surprised me as well. Not that he was accepted, rather the fact that he applied.
  2. Definitely not a second account, but yeah that would be me. When you say Dan, is that Scottish Dan? I haven't spoken to him in years. Haha, I know. But I remember some mods/admins accused you and Matt of being the same poster, since you two "knew eachother RL" and would often agree with eachother on topics. Ah drama. And yeah, that would be the same Dan. He's a mod now as well.
  3. Haha, Darkwebz mafia! You were Matt's friend (or his second account, depending on whom you ask) and had good taste in music. But no, not many people from that period still post here. It's basically just Dan, Rick, 1_man_army, Nadril and me left. edit: Also Daan.
  4. 1. Neverwinter Nights. 2. Tribes 2 - Still the best, and hardest, multiplayer-based FPS ever made. 3. Morrowind - The most satisfying time-sink game I have played. 4. GTA: San Andreas - A sand-box game with an engaging story, great characters and incredibly fun gameplay. 5. Half-Life 2.
  5. WIRED is the only magazine I read.
  6. Haha, I admit I was very judgemental. But usually people who listen to a lot of Asian (pop) music/watch a lot of anime fit into either of these two categories: they're either incredibly socially awkward people, who look like god damn bacon goblins with no care for their outward appearance or how they smell; who are obsessed with anime and (usually) Japanese culture, and are learning Japanese on their own so they can one day move to Glorious Nippon where they will finally be accepted for the misunderstood and unique snowflakes that they are, and they are going to land a job at Square Enix because their disgusting Final Fantasy fanfic will be appreciated over there goddamnit. It usually turns out they are ephebophiles as well. Or, they are perfectly socially-adjusted and normal people who just happen to like watching a bit of anime now and again and/or like listening to manufactured, albeit catchy, Asian pop music with attractive front figures. Because hey, it's catchy as hell and who doesn't like looking at hot women. I realise this is judgemental as well. But christ, I went to a very IT-oriented high school for 3 years, and have spent the last 12 or so years on various internet forums. It really just boils down to either of these two categories. And if by Snakes and Arrows, you mean the Rush album, then you are seriously cool in my book. Plus you eloquently stood up for yourself without resorting to childish name-calling which is even rarer here.
  7. OP, how much anime do you watch a day, on average? When do you plan on moving to Glorious Nippon?
  8. A real life friend of mine made an interpretation of Lil Wayne and Eminem's "Drop the World". It's in Swedish.

    iPhone 4

I took notes during uni classes on my iPhone and synced it with Google Docs for 3 months. If you have trouble typing on it you are literally an elderly person.
  10. Welp, damn. I didn't see it on any top seller lists so I figured it wasn't on it. Turns out it just didn't sell much compared to the 360 version.
  11. I'm seriously thinking of getting the PS3 myself, the only other console I've ever owned being a Sega Mega Drive II 16bit. A few of the things that attract me about it is the fact that it's the most powerful console out of the three, is really not that expensive anymore, has some really strong exclusives. And since I don't see myself playing online on it much, I want the multiplayer to be free for when I do play. Plus it doesn't have the newest CoD, which purely by principle makes it ten times more awesome.

It's Steve Jobs's "what we don't give you, you don't need" mentality.

    iPhone 4

I've got the 32gb and about 29-30gb is free to use for whatever. I wish I went with the 16gb instead though, since I've got Spotify on it. I probably couldn't do with another smartphone after having an iPhone for half a year. The touch screen is simply hands down the best around. I've played around with some Android phones (one being the new Desire) and it's just way too choppy for me. The open source stuff and the less regulated app store on the Androids is a good concept, but when the top apps are porn stuff I feel like Apple has the right idea anyway (I'd still like more open source capabilities though). I'll wait for when they release the iPhone 4S next summer before buying a new one though. I really want that camera flash.
  14. If everything works out as planned, my summer is going to look like this: - Work a month. - Go on a roadtrip for a few weeks with some friends. - Visit relatives up north. - Finish a few programming assignments. - Enjoy the weather. - Become an alcoholic. The last two points will probably be constant.
  15. It astounds me that this [developmentally delayed]ed way of typing is still around. But it's okay since it's said ironically. Which makes it funny... or something. Somehow.
  16. Kookaburra sits in the old gum tree Merry merry king of the bush is he Laugh, Kookaburra, laugh Kookaburra, gay your life must be Learned this in 7th grade for some reason. Almost 10 years later I can still recollect the damn thing verbatim.
  17. When I was in Germany I met an American girl at a bar who asked me if we had electricity in Sweden. When I mentioned we also make cars she was genuinely shocked. So I just rolled with it and said the reason there are only 9 million people living here is because polar bears kill most of our infants. In order to keep our population from declining, it is a mother's duty to just push out as many babies as possible - because at least half of them will be killed by the infant-killing polar bears roaming our streets. Unghh.
  18. No disrespect to the guy, it's always sad to see someone go this early. But I hope to god this means Slipknot will never make another [cabbage]ty album again.
  19. Yeah, number stations are definitely creepy. There's also something fascinating about the fact that they are impossible for us to decipher. Here's a creepy one: http://upload.wikime...2/26/UVB-76.ogg And UVB-6 "The Buzzer" The Buzzer has been transmitting this signal from inside Russia since at least 1982. It has been interrupted at least three times by a voice reading coded messages of unknown intent (listen to a recording of one such message from 2006 here: http://mikeandsniffy...57_21.2.06.mp3) It's just so bizarre.
  20. What is this [cabbage]. An expression meaning don't get mad...? Heh, yeah. Never you mind my thinly-veiled racist remarks; it's called expressions. So that means it's alright. This forum.
  21. Like a Swedish comedian once said, this would be a non-issue if it was men that gave birth. We'd have drive-thru abortion clinics.
  22. Saw Joe Bonamassa yesterday. Easily one of my top 5 concert experiences.
  23. Very sad news, indeed. He was definitely one of the most influential people in the music industry. But I've been suspecting this was gonna happen for a few weeks now, ever since Heaven & Hell cancelled their Sonisphere gig. He seemed like an incredibly down-to-earth and genuinely nice guy. R.I.P.
  24. That'd be pretty stupid. Removing it would only result in people being even more ignorant about religions other than their own, if any (and even then...). But it's important that they're not trying to shove it down peoples' throats, but instead teach the different principles of all the different major religions in a factual and unbiased manner. That's what they did in my high school, and religion quickly turned into one of my favourite classes.
