  1. Jagex didn't actually do much this year. There was a lot of filler updates. Out of all the updates only summoning, corporeal beast, and HD were any good.
  2. ~BrenMan 94 The master of cheesy and cornyness
  3. Umm, thieving is pretty cheap too.
  4. Yeah these numbers seem pretty far off. 104.8k per hour at dustdevils? Doubt it. Do these numbers include HP exp? Since I don't know, I'll calculate both ways. If they do include HP exp: HP exp is 1 times the damage dealt Focussed training is 4 times the damage dealt gave to a melee stat So you divide 104800/5 = 20 960 damage dealt Dust devils have 105 hitpoints. 20960/105 = 200 So according to this calculation you kill 200 dust devils an hour. If they don't include HP exp: 104800/4 = 26200 damage dealt 26200/105 = 250 Meaning you kill 250 dust devils an hour. I haven't slayed in a long time. Is 250 dust devils an hour even possible?
  5. eatrunearrow sure is a piece of work. R u for realz?
  6. Kinda off-topic, but there are lots of payments options available for people under 18, or if you don't have a credit card. All you need is your country to have a bank, and a post system. So unless you live in Mongolia or somewhere like that, don't tell me you are in the inability to buy membership.
  7. Almost all usernames people have suck, not just the name of pkers. I can just go on the highscores, pick a random username, and it's going to be a really stupid name. Just did: Bigdawg20050. What kind of a stupid name is that? And again: Pepar Kakan. Wtf? And again...: Bigfoot139. Anyway, you see the point.
  8. Of course. They're a company. Their job is to get as much money as possible. I'm going to comment on this, it's off-topic. (nothing to do with jagex) Obviously all companies try to make money, but that's not the point. What matters is how a company goes about making money. Some companies are dishonest and make money using cheap materials and dishonest claims in order to fool the client. Some companies make quality products, are honest to their clients and make money because of their loyal customer base. Basically, it's the difference between walking into a grocery store and buying a "premium"(according to company's claim) chocolate bar for 5$ that's actually made with crappy ingredients that damage your health, and going into a specialized and buying a truly premium chocolate bar made with healthy ingredients for that 5$, or slightly bit more. In this example, company whos making crappy bars and selling them for a higher price under false pretenses are a bunch of [wagon]. Company whos making the good chocolate bar is making less profit, but their product is good and they're not trying to trick people, making them worth respect and I'd have be happy to give them my money for their good products. And the fact that a company is made to make money doesn't excuse them doing immoral stuff.
  9. That's rockshell legs actually. Here's the granite ones : http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Image:R ... itapro.gif http://it.youtube.com/watch?v=CjG_hpewuzk
  10. You use it, obviously. Have some pray pots in your inv and you can last a long time. Too bad if they run away, someone will eventually stay..
  11. Making a clan like that sounds fun o.O You get all your friends, each friend has a spell assigned to them: Mr barrage, Mr teleblock, etc. And than you split the loot
  12. Jagex should have delayed the RWT updates until their PvP worlds were ready, then remove the wild, add the anti-RWT and the PvP worlds at the same time. I reckon they would have avoided lots of drama and would have lost less customers.
  13. Well, F2P melee has always been overpowered, this just makes it even more so. F2P mages have like... blue wizard robes(they die if they wear that) and mage amulet, and if they wear rune their magic sucks so they pretty much can only wear green dragonhide. Rangers have little success because most people in F2P pvp with rune, which is naturally stronger against ranged, green dragonhide has weak defences and mage shortbow is weak. But F2P is just the trial version of the game, a small part of the game and it doesn't represent the true game so I can understand why Jagex doesn't bother balancing it
  14. You can use ancients if you don't want to use pray pots. Ancients doesn't cost too much, and gives a good number of trips.
  15. Just use a money order, they can't be cashed in except by the company to whom they are adressed.
  16. That's a very slim argument when we're here talking efficiency. Slayer isn't the best exp, nor the best money. And you're argument against that is "Omg exp isn't the only thing in the world!". That's off-subject. And, not everyone enjoys slayer. People keep saying "Slayer is great, you get drops, exp and you get slayer lvls!". You will get exp and drop from just about any monster, nothing special in that. And slayer lvls aren't useful anymore with the low price of whips/dbows/dboots.
  17. It will but only if you're not careful. A) You need to take breaks about each 30 minutes to look at distanced objects. Looking at distanced objects relaxes the eye, whilst looking to close objects(like the computer) strains it. B) Always have lots of light in the room apart from the computer screen. If everything is dark and the computer screen is the only light, it will damage your eye a bit. C) Don't strain your eyes trying to read or look at something that's too small, just manually adjust your comp to make whatevers too small the correct size. If you do that, you should be about fine. Bad eyesight is genetical. Looking at computer screens only makes a small difference.
  18. Television actually... lol There was some sort of kid's TV show and they were talking about some free video games on internet, and Runescape came up so I went to see. Then few months later there was a huge boom of kids playing that game at school.
  19. Remains the fact that RS is crippled technologically, lol. Iamdan is an idiot for thinking the HD update changes anything to that. I really wouldn't say it was crippled, maybe limited slightly compared to other games but really not crippled. I doubt millions of people would play a game with crippled technology on a daily basis. They manage to make new and exciting updates - in what way is it crippled? The graphics? It's brouser based! and by far the most high-detalied brouser based game out there, which is a huge acheivement. You could say: Oh, WoW's far better, but then this thread is about the growth of RS, and imo WoW is far too expensive, you have to pay for the big updates (like Wrath of the Litch King,) and download patches and pay a far larger monthly fee. RS is very cheap relatively, and because it's browser based the updates are already there - it's minimum hassle. How is being browser based an advantage? We aren't living in the era of windows 98 anymore, people have good processors and good memory. It takes 30 mins-1 hour to download a game, an hour of download that allows the game to be 10x better than if it was restricted to the web. There is no advantage to browser based unless you have a terribly crappy computer.
  20. America is very chauvinistic. But so is everyone, why are aliens always portrayed as humanoid, in our image? There's a absolutely minute chance of that actually occuring. People keep repeating that question, so I might aswell answer for informative purposes. That whole belief system revolves around the fact that aliens secretly control earth through pressure over our governments. That humans beings were created with a mix of alien DNA, hence why they look like us because we look like them. Throughout their wars, they capture souls and stock them up on the moon. That they put a mind-controlling grid around earth so that nobody remembers anything. Earth would be divived into two planes: physical and astral. Ppl in the astral see us but we don't see them. The aliens live in the astral and manage everything from there. Humans are basically a food supply. Then when a baby grows they put a soul in it(from where they stock them on the moon). As the baby's physical body grows, the astral body grows aswell. Astral body's attached to the physical one through a silver energy chain. Then when the physical body dies, you have your astral body left and end up in the astral world(where ghosts are). Then from there, the aliens are waiting to capture you using mind tricks to make themselves look like angel. Then they capture you, rape you, and stock you with the other food. Then eventually your astral body gets killed and they eat it. Then either you soul manages to run away or they capture you again and reincarn you into a new body. Near death experiences with angels and all that stuff is actually memories implanted by the aliens to cover-up what happens for real. And the reason there's so many wars for no reason is that when the aliens get hungry, they provoke a war so that lots of ppl die and that they can capture their astral bodies and eat them. The grey short aliens(the ones ppl see in abductions) would be the slaves of the real baddies. The real baddies being some sort of reptilian-looking race of aliens who are responsible for the myths of demons/vampires because they look like that. And these aliens like to make themselves appear like angels to people so that they can manipulate them, so when ppl say they are talking to angels they actually talk to aliens. Though apparently there's also some nice alien races who are trying to break the mind-controlling grind around earth. I doubt it's true but It's a pretty nice story.

  22. Err... Since the last game engine update, and because of the new way Jagex does the rendering, they can do pretty much whatever they want with the game. Lol [hide=RS][/hide][hide=RS][/hide] [hide=Comes out in 2009-2010][/hide][hide=Comes out in 2009-2010]And video: http://www.bascentral.com/news.php[/hide] Oh yeah, Runescape is SO modern.
