I hate the thought of the human race taking war beyond Earth itself. We've already fudged up this planet... we don't have to do the same for space. My personal opinion, and no amount of discussion or debate is going to change it.

How can a book be evil? It's just a bunch of words. It's more than a bunch of words to alot of people. Some people believe it, some people don't.

Thanks alot for the compliments! And also Lee wrote half of it too, it wasn't just me. :)

So who is a Muslim, religion transcends 'race'; so profiling by race only would be inherently flawed. You think that these 'terrorists' would be so stupid not to use their white friends to carry out the more riskier operations? Oh hey look its the 68 year old female suicide bomber from last November http://www.jpost.com/servlet/Satellite?cid=1162378463201&pagename=JPost%2FJPArticle%2FShowFull; Better start profiling them grandmothers too. Or how about Robert Cottage a 49 year old white male in possession of explosives http://www.burnleycitizen.co.uk/display.var.951775.0.exbnp_man_faces_explosives_charge.php; Better start profiling them old white grandfathers too. Not to mention GuantÃÆÃâÃâánamo Bay detainees Bisher Al-Rawi (37, British citizen; doesn't look like a stereotypical 'terrorist') or David Hicks (31, white Australian). Come off it, it's a really stupid thing to even begin profiling when there are so many exceptions to the rule it's not funny. The fact is, though, you've only provided us with about six elderly white terrorists. There are far, far, more young Asian terrorists that we know of. You can't blame the public for stereotyping when so many of the recent terrorists have been Asian. No offence to Asians... I have nothing against Asians. The public know about more Asian terrorists than white terrorists. It may not be just, but that's the way it is.

Michele Thomas tapes... seriously, they're amazing. A series of about 12 CDs you listen to in your spare time. All you do is listen to Mr Thomas talking, and practise with him. IT doesn't help your reading and writing but you should be able to speak fluent Dutch in a few months. Actualy, one problem... :uhh: Michele Thomas does them in French, English, German, Italian, Norwegian (I think) Spanish... not sure about Dutch... :-s

Does the Islamic religion suggest killing people if they won't convert? (Not sarcastic or anything, just I've never read it... so does anyone know exactly what it says about murder?)

Well, excusing the 'easy to look after' criteria.. :uhh: There is no living creature I could reccommend any more than a small puppy - preferably a labrador, retriever, or some kind of spaniel. Dogs are so, so, rewarding. Sure, he/she would have to be walked at least twice a day, and food, vet bills, and various other things can be expensive - but if you were to go ahead and get a dog, then look back on this day and think 'Wow, I never thought dogs were so great... I can't imagine my life without my dog now!' Seriously, I have a dog called Tess. She has got to be one of the most gentle, caring animals ever to live - and I'm not exaggerating. Right now, I cannot imagine not having Tess in my life. She means the world to me. Maybe it's silly to get so attached, but, (and I actually mean this, I'm not joking) I love her as much as my parents. :uhh: :) Tess has given us so, so, so much happiness. And apparently dogs can increase your life span for quite a lot, there was an article on the BBC a few days ago. Also if you do get a dog, why not get one from a local rescue home? A small puppy who needs looking after. This way you're 'saving a life' in a way, because in some places (this is kinda rare but anyway...) they will put down dogs who aren't given homes. And if you get a younger dog, he/she will be easier to train, whereas older ones might be bad tempered and get ill soon. (Though if you were to get a golden retriever... they can get fat quite easily... :uhh: but they are soooo rewarding! My mum's decision to get a dog, was, she now says, one of the best things that has ever happened to her.) If not... ( :-s  ) how about an iguana? I've heard they can be very lovable! Lol here are some pics I found on the internet.. Aren't they adorable?

I certainly will when I'm old enough. I'm also getting a donor card - if I die suddenly in a car accident or something, about 16 people my age could benefit from my death. I'd much rather let someone have my organs and give them another wholesome chance at live them be buried in some titchy claustrophobic coffin six feet in some strange unfamiliar place surrounded by dead people and a church. (No offence to anyone) But, yeah... back on topic... I'm pretty sure I will give blood when I'm old enough. Scared of the needle hurting though... :uhh:

yes, read the article the pope really did die Nearly a year ago! Not trying to burst your bubble... but seriously... he died aaaaaaages ago.
-
Well firstly I think that article's over 8 months old... so not a great talking point there. It says the 2nd April 2005 at the top.

I don't like people who wear fur... Ok so I have no problem if the animal was already dead. But cutting short the life of any living creature just so someone can get that latest stylish coat or skirt makes me sick... As far as I'm concerned it's barbaric and cruel. ot - well said, Lee! :)

I try to be nice to people... unless they're annoying/horrible/insensitive. I also love this saying- You can't choose your family, but you can choose your friends. I like it because I see absolutely no reason to respect your family unless they respect you - as far as I'm concerned it's a two way thing. I don't automatically respect someone just because - well, just because they exist. If you're gonna do something - do your best. Never, ever give up. I'm not saying you can make it just because you try - but you'll feel so happy you tried, even if you failed. Shoot for the moon - even if you miss, you'll land among the stars. Always loved that quote. Don't do what someone else tells you just because they tell you to - but be sensitive with what you do Help the people who need help. Me and some friends did something weird a few weeks ago... and I realised the importance of what we jokily called 'Inner Peace'. With the thought of those friends in my head I try to keep my cool and just be kind, not aggressive and not put people down or make them feel small. It's pretty hard as I've always had a terrible temper... but I'm trying and I think I'm getting somewhere. :

I think it's a very good piece of writing! The description is very good and it sounds reasonably professional. There's a few things you could do to improve it. Firstly - start a new line for every new speaker, and please please don't use " for speech marks. " is actually a quotation mark - use ' for speech. In the first paragraph you could try and put some of the sentences together as it sounds a bit robotic if each sentence is a single clause. Also in the first paragraph the last sentence is confusing to read. In the second paragraph you might want a bit more detail just before Sir Vyvin speaks and imply what he's thinking and what's going on very implicititly. Otherwise - very, very good! Next installment eagerly awaited. :

But at least people in the US get to choose who they marry. That's not the point. The point is that those in arranged marriages have lower divorce rates than those in voluntary marriages. It may be that, while the divorce rate is lower, people involved in arranged marriage don't have so much of an option for divorce as I'm guessing it would often result in disgrace and family feuds. You can't measure unhappiness through divorce stats - it's not the only factor.

Tap water's better for your heart, apparently. I hate bottled water. Waste of time, money, plastic, etc.

The bullet points I made were kind of based around my character, Helenia. What I meant was, as Archimage said, we make some kind of list for each our characters. Then when we are all happy with what we've got maybe we could put them all together.
-
The first bit in bold - As Archimage once said, 'this is dripping with unfelt feeling,' or something. I understand what you're trying to say but it's not quite coming across. How did he kneel down? Gingerly? Crying? What was his mother's facial expression? It's a very short piece and to be honest I don't feel the pain of losing his mother, the description isn't particularly good and you need a new line for every new speaker. But it's a good start, keep going.
