  1. Something else that would affect a similar case involving RuneScape is that Jagex is a British company and their Terms say: So American case law concerning contracts of adhesion isn't really applicable.
  2. what's the question again? Something to do with game....lol You must be referring to the challenge question: "What company owns the game that this fan site is centered around?" That's probably to stop bots from being able to register and it should be a lot easier than a captcha for anyone who actually plays RuneScape. The answer is on every page of the official website and this forum, look at the bottom.
  3. I'm not sure some of the details which made the Linden Lab lawsuit viable would work equally when applied to RuneScape. In Second Life (the actual MMORPG that was the subject of the dispute) the virtual land is given an actual cash value, tied to real world currency. Because Jagex can argue that nothing in RuneScape can be bought, sold, or valued in real world currency, their claim that they unilaterally own the items themselves is much stronger. If Jagex owns all the items, transfer of items between accounts, even by force, would not be theft, because they were and always will be in possession of their rightful owner (Jagex).
  4. It sounds like support was trying to tell her to use your domain control panel to point your A record to Wix and point your MX record back to your email host. Although, if you're routing your domain to the Wix name servers, then you need to create the MX record in Wix.
  5. Those pictures were provided by Jagex on the official wiki. So they aren't instances where the items were actually won.
  6. Grimy's farming spreadsheet will definitely be of interest to you. If you have a Google account you can log in and go to File > Make a copy... so that you can edit things like Scroll of Life and Juju potions True/False. RuneScape wiki also has an Herb farming profit page. So the best herb to farm really depends on your particular set up. As far as allotment goes, the best money you'd get is tomatoes, which aren't worth your time. For flowers, the only profits are marigolds and limpwurt, but you'd have to make the determination if they're worth it for you. Limpwurt roots are currently 2,383 coins and Marigolds are 3,882 coins.
  7. If by "regeneration aura" you mean vampirism, then I like it ok. If you're going to be hitting a lot of damage, it'll work a bit like a free healing familiar, reducing the need for food. It'll help if you want to AFK a bit too.
  8. I've seen: Rune battleaxe 50 coins Large lamp Medium lamp Small lamp (cooking) 10 mil coins Medium lamp (slayer) 2 cowhides 10K coins Small lamp Lucky armadyl chestplate 1 water rune Rune pickaxe Small lamp (smithing) Lucky bandos boots Medium lamp (dungeoneering) Lucky bandos tassets 1 fishing bait From my two spins. I got a medium lamp and 1 fishing bait. I used the medium lamp on lvl 62 Runecrafting and got 3671 exp.
  9. I just did the part of the quest will the Dill. I did not have a prayer related aura, but I did pray mage for the lava monsters while I killed the Dill. Mage prayer didn't make the Dill stomp, so I'm guessing that this is only caused by the melee prayer.
  10. I wouldn't take "working as intended" as "this is how they're supposed to be and wont be changed." It's quite possible that Mod Emilee either didn't understand the question or Jagex doesn't even know about the situation yet. It's hard to believe they intend for 10hp monsters have such a high effigy drop rate.
  11. And on the other hand, the green drags in the chaos tunnels are mixed in with baby black dragons which aren't worth your time to kill.
  12. It still works. Except now, as long as you aren't ranging, you can equip a single [item=10312] to make them aggressive and save all the important spots for good armour.
  13. Your way is still really fast, just thought that someone should point out it probably isn't the absolute best way.
  14. I'm not really sure Alg's way is the best way to do JoT. First of all, while it says you don't need any items except your toolbelt and your weapon, you'll be sorry if you forget your teleport runes. Second, I believe this way might be faster: (1) Teleport to Varrock (2) Cut two logs (3) Fletch one (4) Light the other (5) Pickpocket a guard (9) Attack a guard with controlled style (10) Bury it's bones. Someone could test it and see, but that's the way I've figured out to do it.
  15. I have the same problem. In certain areas the screen flickers between the game and black, back and forth like a strobe light. Is that the same problem you're trying to describe? Anyways, it happens in just a few places (near the Council workman, on the approach to the bridges in Soul Wars, the four way intersection in the Gamers' Grotto). It will also stop if I stop moving my character, even if I'm right in the middle of a trouble spot. I usually just try to run through those places as fast as possible.
  16. This can actually be used for some pretty useful stuff, example: [set=aura:293,head:4993,cape:4398,neck:9035,quiver:2404,weapon:19,body:8543,shield:11172,legs:2550,gloves:7285,boots:8905,ring:6616] Some suggestions, could you have the equipment screen overlays show which spot they're in, because I actually got confused with the background and placement of items with which slot is which. Also, do all monsters have the same image? And could the overlays be changed from translucent to opaque, depending on what they're hovering over they can be hard to read, especially with the small font size.
  17. From my understanding, the multi-logging rule has a lot more to do with preventing interaction between a persons accounts than it does with being on at the same time. So my guess is that you're probably fine as long as you stay well and clear away from each other while you're online.
  18. There's a distinction to be made between playing against the house (monster drops, the game being the house), and gambling between players.
  19. I don't think that the only problem Jagex has with this is scamming or people being irresponsible with their money. I think Jagex saw the effect that widespread gambling had on the economy, which seemed pretty negative to me. THIS Did they forget that Pmods existed or something? I'm in big support of this.
  20. What comes to mind from your question are the deposit boxes unlocked as a reward for the quest Deadliest Catch, there are 8 of them, but they're all in P2p locations.
  21. This was my first thought. Some clans have been taking their time for upgrades instead of torturing themselves every week trying to get people to max. But, if they had said there would be a reward for getting to T7 as soon as possible, those clan might have had the motivation to have done so. I'm pretty sure my clan is going to get there before the end of the month, but now I guess there's less of a hurry.
  22. Ideally everyone would learn languages by immersion. Outside of native populations the only people to talk to are most likely your teacher and classmates (who are sometimes worse than you are). However, you might be able to find a conversation partner over the internet via Skype or iChat/Facetime. Think of it as a new aged pen pal. Although, it's likely that you'll only be able to find people who will want to practice their English with you in return, so that would be double the time investment.
  23. You don't seem to understand how your combat level is calculated. There are three combat level formulas, one for Melee, Magic and Ranged. Your combat level is whichever is highest. So if your melee combat level is highest, your magic and ranged levels would have no effect on your combat level unless you increased one so that your Magic or Ranged combat level was higher than your melee, and then your combat level would switch to displaying that. This three tiered system will probably never change because it would break the combat levels of some pures and hybrids.
  24. Regarding The Great TIF Survey: I was honestly expecting the average age range to be much older. I wish there was a way to measure maturity, because TIF posters must be mature beyond their age from what I've seen the years I've been posting.
