untrimmed 99 slayer cape possible?

It's theoratically possible. If you cannon all your way to almost 99 range (with slayer ofcourse) you'll already have 50% at the end. Then you only need the last 50% with controlled melee. Theoratically pretty easy.

stupid... controlled givs more exp then normal melee training :?

No it doesn't... controlled gives 1.333 xp to each skill per point of damage, versus 4 damage to one skill per point of damage.

And either way it gives 1.333 xp to hitpoints per point of damage.

Unless they changed it which I doubt... Between level 73 attack, defence, and strength and level 93 attack, defence, and strength I train controlled the whole way, and kept all my XP within a point of each other... :\

Almost impossible (well without an unlimited amount of genie lamps) but Slayer gains the same exp as HP per kill. So most likely you will have 99 HP then you do 99 Slayer.

EDIT: Forget my post, didn't read the post well enough.

I know you already realized that you can use the cannon and such to train...but I'd also like to point out that you do NOT get the same hp exp as slayer exp. Hp experience is calculated 1.33 exp per 1 damage done, while slayer experience is calculated 1 by the max hp that monster has.

In other words, you will NEVER be able to get more than 111 exp from a fire giant, but while battling it may regenerate an hp or so. This means you may do 112+ damage to a fire giant while battling it, but will never recieve more than it's max hp for your slayer exp. (111) This, combined with the fact that you get more hp exp than slayer exp per monster, means that getting 99 slayer without any other 99s would indeed be difficult. A cannon would be necessary, as would rings of recoils.

have a friend fight the monster, then you finish it off.

you get the xp from the kill, not the damage

That doesn't work...In slayer you get the xp as you hit the monster. So you'd only get a couple xp points from finishing it off.

I'm pretty sure that you get the XP for killing the monster. Otherwise then I get a lot of coincidences getting slayer levels only after fights and not during them(which happens a lot when training combat skills).

Why would anyone want an untrimmed cape in the first place?

My opinion is they're tacky and quite hidious

An untrimmed Slayer Cape is probably THE hardest thing in all of Runescape to get. Even more so than Castle Wars gold armor or a Fire Cape.

Which is why I am semi-trying to attempt this

First off it is possible...let me just say this much

Secondly using cannonballs would be the only semi practical way to achieve this feat which what i will do if i decide to go the distance and really devote myself to a 99 Slayer cape lacking trim...However ill get 90 slayer first before going for 99

However in the meantime ill still need to accumulate some funds for the cannonballs...at least 200k of them...

Also for anyone wondering...

I'm Currently lvl 110 Combat, 82 attack, 98 strength, 80 defence, with 30k exp past 93 hitpoints...and of course...only 150k till lvl 89 slayer

So yes, I would very much have to say with stats = to or better then those and a hefty sum of cash to throw into cannonballs that the cape is very much indeed possible...but wheather or not its worth it is a different story all together

Also before anyone i

To set the slayer xp record straight...

You get HALF the xp for killing it halfway, the other HALF for doing the final blow. The xp is not awarded however until the monster it dead.

Now stop arguing over it.

Untrimmed slayer cape is possible, but quite arguably the most difficult thing to acquire in the game.

Just saying, you get 1 slayer xp per hp the monster has.

If you do anything but cannon, you get 1.33 hp xp per hp the monster has.

So if you would cannon to 98 and almost 99 range, then go on melee/mageing, it is possible (and apparently has been done before)

+1 to the fact that it is the hardest cape in the game to aquire

well if you trained the beginning levels with really low range, and you had a steady supply of runes and such, then towards the end swtich to prayer....i dunno, but it seems very unlikely.

hp requires 3*99 skills 39.102m exp (combat)

and slayer effectivly requires 4*99 skills 52.136m (combat exp)

so to get an untrimmed slayer cape you need to cannon to just under 99 range, then simply attack and str and def to just uner 99

you will then have 98 range(no hp) 98 attack, str, def and hp + 99 slayer

easy pease :P cept for the cannon balls

Check the player herman_m.

38 slayer and no other combat stat in the rankings. He says the first levels were extremely difficult and tedious. He is on a W.o.W. break from RS for a bit but will be back to finish. His strategy so far has been balanced combat.

Check the player zzzamorak.

54 slayer and no other combat stats above 1 (10 for hits). He says that he used rings of recoil and it was extremely difficult and tedious. I don't think he's on a WOW break from RS for a bit, but he will finish. His strategy so far has amazed many people.

Losers...

Are you blind or ignoring me on purpose?

Even though I sometimes side with religious people in some debates, I no longer consider myself religious.
