Dazzuh
Interesting, i ought to get to some mining and smithing soon. Maybe after 94 Mage. Currently not active on RuneScape.
dutchdreams
Yanille for me: Varrock has too many people wanting to know if I'm smithing rune and/or begging me to make them a free rune set (90 smithing, go figure).
Ghost-Knigth
Might be right concerning the steps but I think Yanille is better. Less people there and if I remember right there isn't any door(s) you could accidentally close.. :) 99 ranged | 99 magic | 99 defence | 99 hitpointsRemember, it's just a gameFeel free to add me on RS. :) Always ready for a chat. Fat_Slug
for me i prefer varrock simply because it is the closest to the tele point. Runescape nick : Fat_SlugOwner of Ears, Scythe and a 10 year veteran cape :D
Freesia
Personally prefer varrock but didn't stop to think if yanille would be nearer :-k. Neat job with the results Strangely with WotLK so near, I wished I could delay it a bit to push through that last TBC content in MH/BT :'(. aoe325
Actually - Neitiznot is better for forging. No closing doors, no ghostspeak ammy, nothing. And it's closer with a one click bank. :3 hes right, Neitiznot is way better, but it will take time for peoples to get used to it. Quest cape obtained at combat level 83, march 07. Soma2035
Actually - Neitiznot is better for forging. No closing doors, no ghostspeak ammy, nothing. And it's closer with a one click bank. :3 while you are correct in saying it is the closest furnace to a bank, i have been told by several people that you cannot right click and "smelt x", thus making it very inefficient. You don't right click to smelt x... Want to learn to Nex? The Nex Hunters are recruiting! Click for more information!

Good for making glass tho from seaweed as there is a cooker right next to it. Thanks Gradeskip93 for my awesome sig!
kdb148
At Yanille you never have to right click the anvil because of people in the way like you often do at Varrock. Makes it worth using. Check out this cool browser gladiator game!
Chocobodude0
Varrock. I've been smelting there since...Well, forever. :

piman1053
Smelting is better :P It dosen't matter to me; it only makes a difference if you are a focused trainer, which applies to maybe 100 in the game.
Harrington
I tend to use Varrock since I find there a little busier. I like to chat you see ;)
-Devoted12-
I'm usually up for a chat, but when it's smithing, I don't have time to. Yanille is also my favorite town. I will walk the extra 4 steps. \
ghostman
I use Yanille for some peace, =X Currently P2P. I don't want the world to see me, 'cause I don't think that they'd understand. daver
Varrock has always been the best place to smith bars, for me at least.
Atroxide
Good I always have used Varrock. Meh 4 steps, that aint even worth considering. Well if your doing 1k loads of bars (for the l33t smithers) thats 4k steps you lose lol

Good for making glass tho from seaweed as there is a cooker right next to it. The lack of a smelt x feature was a glitch. Jagex added it a week later. Trust me, I smelted 1k steel bars and iron bars there recently, and you can smelt x. Proud owner of a Quest cape!

thesmallone29
thank you for clearing that up for me, now all Jagex needs to do is make a semi convienent tele so that I (and we) can get to the closest smelter in the game. i honestly did not know it was a glitch, and furthermore i did not know it was fixed... hurray! Outsanity
And for smithing, you want to go to port... something.. plasma.. ahh forgot the name.. Lets just say "Ghost Town". k. Its intresting because the furnance is RIGHT THERE, right there by the bank! Yet in Karamaja... in that city south.. forgot its name too! .. #-o You have to pay like 15 or 20 gp to get in.... to use it? EACH AND EVERY TIME!? Jagex should just remove that.. no one uses it.... EVER. ~Defender~ Actually...you're wrong in that Port Phasmatys is best for Smelting. There is a new furnace that came out with the Fremminik Island Quest. It's on the island with the Yaks, Trolls and Arctic Pines. It's a smaller furnace located slightly northeast of the bank if I remember correctly. |2,300+ Total|138 Combat|12 Lvl 99 Skills|99 Slayer|

Guiness
I just always used Varrock, because there's always people there; not as lonely.
Nitemare100
I would always prefer Varrock anyways.. I like being around people.. training by myself is just too boring. Unless its mining because I'd have to compete for some rocks. :D
