BUT when it comes to strength training, baxe specing with scimmy is generally just as accurate and MORE powerful then whip.

It's way easier to get a whip from abyssals than robin from a clue.

 

 

 

People want both, but theres more supply on whips, therefore its cheaper.

but the prices are going down and it is worth it when i had a whip it was very fun to train combat and its only gonna take me like 2 days to get it back and 2 days for very fast and fun attack/def training is worth it.

dscim is good for str training and if you don't want to risk a whip in the wild..but for attack and def whip all the way why do you think so many people get 99 attack before str.

Yea, some people (like me) just think that it is a really inpacting weapon, if you look at d scimmy it seems like you're hitting something with some plastic. Although it is not this way, it depends on it's stats.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Cost of d scimi annd its spec really comes into play here. Ppl feel cheap enough not to risk afew mil in the wildy so bring scimi. The special is also far better than the whips so in prayer battles the scimi has the clear upper hand against the whip.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

If a scimi user prays and u pray to him he will cut ur pray and inflict severe damage with a dds spec/other powerful attacks (ancients if u were mage praying etc) to perform a good KO. IN combination with range and mage it can be effective to have 2 specials to stop prayer for 5 seconds leaving u free to kill runners/prayers with your most damaging style of attack depending on what armnour he is wearing. (60 att, 99 stre, 99 mage, 99 range, 52/43 pray,99 hp, 1 def could be a perfect d scimi pure)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The scimi lessons the need for 52 prayer for smite because prayer can be cut anyway. ONly 43 is really needed. THis is an advantage to pures who want to keep their cb lvl low.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Scimis do not have the strength or speed of the whnip but have other advantages in comparison to the whip to indirectly aid your next attacks, particularly aiding non-melee attacks which don't need the special bar so much. (only one dds spec after scimi slash so not enough KO possibilities for melee unless they on low health).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Scimi may also train strength which the whip may not.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Scimi is definately an all round weapon. Whip is solid melee whnich is occasionally used at no advantage whilst maging.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Example.

 

 

 

Opponent got high melee/range defence armour like veracs (and whip and rune def and high att and stre) and is mage praying. The veracs gives a prayer bonus which will mean hnis pray lasts a long time. You are fairly weak at melee (no chance trying 4 dds specs on the guy) and range but a strong mager (you are melee praying). U can d scimi spec and using barrage to win. If he takes his armour of you have strong enough melee to dds him once or twice-with armour on he will die.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

im only replying to the first part of your post, the part that you say the d scim lessens the need for smite, and i really disagree with you there, the MAIN idea for smite is to drain prayer so their PROTECT ITEM turns off, not thier protection prayers. especially for pures who need to kill 1 iteming noobs (my first whip pk on my pure was off a 1 itemer who i smited)

How? Whip + rune defender is as (if not more) accurate, waaay faster, and almost as high-hitting.

 

 

 

The whip is the best weapon in the game. It's only downfall is it's inability to train strength. Doesn't bother me. I use controlled.

It's the best! : Speed, great str bonus, cool looking, ect. Pretty much it's only downfall is the lack of str option. And remember, I'm saying this after buying mine back when they were 2.1m.

:-s robins r 2.5 mil.. and most people don't think they're great because they're too expensive... i've been tryin to get the money for it for a month and still haven't gotten it :cry:

It is...debatible if it is the best weapon, if you prefer strength, slower, but faster weapons are better (dh axe) but if you prefer speed, it is the way to go.

It may not be the BEST weapon in the game.. but it certainly is ONE of the best in the game.. the speed u attack with is great considering the hits u can get, an easy way to compare is during a cw game.. just watch the guy with the whip whos fighting the guy with the dh axe, im not saying that the whip guy would win, but ud see that is does own with the speed of the high hits

The whip is one handed, fast but doesn't always hit. The only way to get the most out of it is have a good str bonus and high attack. Besides that it owns. I own a whip.
