April 1, 200719 yr The CRIA (Canadian equivalent of the RIAA) apparently just raided several Canadian University filesharing hubs at just past midnight today, along with the RCMP (Canadian equivalent of the FBI). Apparently there was a new law that was passed that gives the CRIA and RCMP the power to shut down Canadian filesharing servers. Anyways the server in our University (Carleton U) just went down after a series of very funny conversations about whether or not this is really happening. Before it went down, the admins were quoted saying that the police was knocking at their door... This HUB has been confiscated by a joint effort of the RCMP and RIAA.
