ember3579
If I had to guess, there is likely to be around a 99.99% chance that the "updates" outlined in that are either a) complete BS or B) for SERIOUSLY far off dates (2010 anyone?). Even IF they planned some of those updates (engineering for example) for real, it would take a ton of time to make it doable on a java program. It can only do so much! I still hope it's coming though :) You never know which rabbit hole you jump into will lead to Wonderland. - Ember3579Aku Soku Zan. - ShinsengumiYou wanna mess with me or my friends? brave
But did you catch the Editor's Pink Floyd references:The moon was showing its dark side and much of the starlight was obscured by clouds. I'm surprised (s)he didn't find a way to include Meddle in there as well. Yes I did. Its continued references like this (eg the obvious reference to "Lost in Space" in a previous article) that makes me think the editor is one of the more "mature" inhabitants of RS. He/she has probably been playing since RSC started.

The_Editor
steam engines = bad this is a midevial game. horses = great less walking. It might have escaped your notice, but the Dwarven Boatman has a steamboat, Dwarf cannons run on steam, and the Dwarves already have a railroad connecting Keldagrim to their other communities. Why should they have all the fun?
micahsky92
This is a medeval game though, so I don't know about the steam stuff... I definenetally want those boomerang tabs, combine it with like, a varrock tele tab, u have a way to make bank trips that only takes 2 inventory spaces. And the horses, that would be awsome. =D

runemastersonic
fantastic I first stumbled upon the engineering in skill guides while checking what I would need to pay the gardener to watch over a tree I was planting. Then read the article. I know what I'm opening myself up for I have been on the recieving end of more elite players lash before but,I cant help wonder was I the only one who rushed to the computer the morning of april 2nd to see what was in store? Dexek
That was a great read. :D I would like all of those updates, aside from the cars.. that is just too technologically advanced for my liking. The boomerang teleport tablets would be great though. I can see something like that happening in the near future, and would be extatic for a great update like that. :) PoetryIndexed Picture 1Indexed Picture 2 Killed my maxed Zerker pure April 2010 Rebooting Runescape
Errdoth
steam engines = bad this is a midevial game. horses = great less walking. It might have escaped your notice, but the Dwarven Boatman has a steamboat, Dwarf cannons run on steam, and the Dwarves already have a railroad connecting Keldagrim to their other communities. Why should they have all the fun? You should have included the cabbage April fools thing in there too. Jagex could not possibly have any sense of humor... Upon entering the R&D room, another figure, unbeknownst to the rest of the crew, who were carelessly grabbing anything at all that was emblazoned with "Secret" or "Confidential", slipped out from the shadows cast down by the strange clothing they wore. He wore a red, velveteen cloak that had "OOC" stitched onto the back with thin gold strands. Silently and stealthily approaching a computer, he flipped the switch and eagerly tapped his fingers while the machine whirred and a dim light flickered on the monitor. "Let's see what we have here," he murmured to himself. "Hmmm, quests, engine, scripts generator..ahh! here we are, FTP Client" he said quietly through his PM headset. "Do you have the program?" a voice cackled back. "Sheesh, do you have any patience? I'm putting in the drive right now." he said, ironically with no patience at all. The drive blinked, as flash memory doesn't exactly 'whirr', and a folder opened up. "April Fools BTS.php" was what he wanted, and he clicked and dragged it to the FTP client so slowly, that you might have thought he was about to rob a casino in "Oceans 12". Downloading... blinked the machine. Task Completed. 10322/10322 bytes transfered. "One more thing, then I'm gone" he thought to himself as he opened up the display properties and changed the background to a cabbage. He was done. Now, the only part was getting back. Aubury had owed him a serious favor after keeping quiet about the locust in the essence mine scandal. That favor was about to be negated. "Seventior Disthine Molenko" he said quietly, not even audibly, but the spell had worked. Enveloped by a swirling ball, he was whisked away, a towering mountain of rune essence awaiting him when the ball vaporized. "The job is done, master." he said to the figure clothed in green sitting before him. Last.fm Signature Overlays
micahsky92
u shouldn't drop the tele tab, u should have the option to "Set" the boomerang tab. Because, if dropped, it would eventually become visible to other players. and you couldn't use it in d partys. =D

aquariusman
Nice, I definitly recognized some ideas from the Suggestions forum (Horses, engineering, etc.) =D> If only this were non-fiction :XD: There's no such thing as regret. A regret means you are unhappy with the person you are now,and if you're unhappy with the person you are, you change yourself. Thatregret will no longer be a regret, because it will help to form the new, better you. So really, a regret isn't a regret. It's experience. underu2000
Funny, altho i dont see wat the whole point of it was. But i was entertained, and i guess thats all that matters. I like the tele tablets idea, and we cant use it for power training because of its time limit. Assuming it wudnt work past lvl 20 wildy, and that it was untradeable, it wud be very legit. Dont like horses either, wud obsolete teles. I like the engineering skil, but not steam boats. Is there any point to a steam boat when 90% of the area in rs is land? I noted the several musical references too. Looks like the tipit folks r pink floyd lovers, while jagex sticks with sci fi love. And WHY doesnt anyone appreciate the calender??? It cud have had some good pics ya know. Life is a joke. Yeah, I don't get it either.

Freemenik_Warrior
R U N E S C A P E <> C H R O N I C L E 5th April 2007 Special Edition TIP IT CREW ARRESTED AND CHARGED In a dramatic dawn raid this morning, the VGSP (Varrock Guard Secret Police) raided several locations over RuneScape and arrested five memebers of the notorious Tip-It Crew Gang. The gang members, famous for their daring exploits, were later charged with breaking-and-entering; theft; and crimes against comedy - contrary to the RuneScape Lore. An unnamed, but shabbily dressed, spokesman for the VGSP gave a statement to the Chronicle earlier today, saying: 'We have been watching these gangsters for quite a while now and it was only a matter of time before we tracked them down...they have been charged in connection with data theft from a secret installation. I cannot say anymore until the matter is tried in court, but I can tell you that an incriminating piece of evidence was left at the scene of the crime.' Chronicle sources within the legal profession have revealed that so-called 'DNA evidence' has been used, in conjunction with the mysterious Vyrewatch (some sort of blood specialist organisation) to identify a small drop of blood left at the site - believed to have resulted from misuse of a thumbdrive espionage device. The arrested Tip-It crew members could face jail sentences of up to 3 hours, if found guilty. C H R O N I C L E <> E D I T O R I A L Tip-It crew, as you languish in your jail cells, answer me this - Are you trying to ruin this great game? Using your RuneScape-given skills and equipment to raid chez-Andy? What a disgrace. Do you not realise that those people at Jagex can read! They will see what you have done and all of those great updates that you described will now be cancelled. :wall:  :x ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Seriously though guys - great article, loved it - i almost REALLY did lol. Must ask though - why did you not take imp boxes and simply tele all the incriminating stuff to your swiss bank accounts?

mememe513
Bad Tip.It, bad :shame: If Runescape applied to real life, it would be hysterical. Remember, Runescape is set in medieval times, so probably no new technology. Next time though, be nice to the watchman, pick cabbage, and bomb!
