ixfd64
As old school players know, there used to be an "online players" page that showed character age (the total time spent playing). Later, this was replaced with server status, where it only showed the oldest player. Later, this was replaced with hiscores. Jagex said they were going to let playrs find out their character age, but didn't, for a reason (maybe they didn't want people to be freaked out by the time they had playing, LOL). Anyways, how old do you think your character was? For me, I use EXP rates to estimate my character age. Keep in mind that leveling in RS Classic was much harder than on RS2. For me, I think my character was 20 days ago by the end of summer 2001. By late 2002, he was probably 45 days old. However, he only had about 6 million total EXP by then. Since RS Classic skills were quite repetitive, a lot of us probably socialized rather than trained. When I got 99 cooking on RS Classic, I mistly cooked lobsters. The optimal EXP per hour on RS Classic with lobsters is probably 120k, but counting distractions and queue times with certificate traders, it's probably around 100k. it took me approximately six of playing time, counting fishing some lobsters of my own and trading time. So that's 51 days so far. Before I started going for 99 firemaking in late 2003, I probably about about 14 days of playing time. So thats 65. I got to 95 firemaking before RS2 came out, and the EXP was around 100k an hour. However, fatique was also introduced, and I chopped my own trees. So that's probably another 6 days to get 95. Firemaking EXP was slower on RS2, and it took another 4 days to get 99 on RS2. We now have 75 days so far. After that, I barely played much in the free version, so it's probably five more days at most. However, since January 2001, I joined members for 7 months total (8th now). I got 99 thieving and am also close to 99 fletching. Counting distrations, my EXP rate was probably 120k. So that's around nine more days. Quests and treasure trails probably took another 14 days. Including other skills, that's probably 48 more hours. So my playing time is probably 100 days. Of course, I also spend over one and a half years in RS Classic after RS2 came out. Counting that, it's probably 115 days. I started playing RS when I ws in 9th grade. I played a lot during 9th and 10th grade, but cut down my time a lot in 11th, 12th, and my first year of college, mainly because of school stuff, and because I was running out of things to do in RS. After I got members last January (on and off), I've started to play a lot again, but now I use my time much more wisely LOL. See also: http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=639770 So my final estimate is roughly between 100 and 150 days. I now have 76m total EXP. I'd say my estimate is reasonable. For example, top players like Zezima are very dedicated players, and trhey probably have around 8 times more playing time. 8 * 76m = 628m. However, it's reasonable for Zezima to get 900m because a large portion of his EXP are focused into the easier skills, cooking, fletching, thieving, firemaking. If I did the same, I'd probably have 100m total EXP. (N0valyfe's playing time was probably half that of Zezima, but he put good use to his time, and he has 200m fletching and cooking. But then again, he's also a purely RS2 player.) cjwarrior65
hmmmm... This is an interesting question.... :-k Well, I have been playing summers for about 3 years now, maybe about an hour a day, so.... hmm, I dunno, maybe 240 hours or so? That's just a quick guess, I did not get scientific like you \ So about 10 days would be my best guess =D>
ddaanniiellh
Wow, i've never thought of it that way...lets see, depending on what I do...my avg rate of xp is different. Unfortunately, I went into a real-long RS break that lasted a few months..... and lost the zombie head, puppet, scarfs and hats and easter ring  I'm back. highlanders
I don't exactly understand  I'm guessing average 15k exp an hour, since I played 3 years in classic before Rs2, aswell as wasting my time a lot. Thus 3400 hours, So 141 days. 2480+ total
mobius112
Well lets see... I've been playing for about 4 years now on and off... most of that time just spent hangin out with friends... if I add that in I'd say my character is a rough guess from 175-200 days old. :| Mining so fast that you can literally watch this bar go up. Guest TaDaraCampbell
If I was to estimate my time playing I would probably be around 136-140 days. But experience-wise, I have probably played for 45-47 days. I've played for around 3 years, so 365*3=1095 days. On average, I probably play for like 3 hours a day, so 1095*3=3285 hours. So I've actually played for around 3285 hours in 3 years, which is 136 days, so ~12% of my last 3 years have been spent on RuneScape. Experience-wise, I probably only spend about 1/3 (if that) of my time actually raising experience, so 136*(1/3)=~45 days of actual experience-raising. Iantiger
Total playing time over all my characters: I would estimate it to be in the region of 100-150 days worth of playing time. Scary really! I could be a prolific drummer, instead of being the owner of a level 108 Runescape account, had I used all that time for drumming instead of playing Runescape And I've never even touched a drum kit... ~Ian Retired Tip It Moderator | Zybez Radio DJ - Listen Here
D. V. Devnull
I don't know my actual playing time, but I do know these two things: Main account started in June to July of 2004 (date is approximate) All alternates started in Late October 2004 (due to halloween event) Year might have been 2005, but I don't think so. Cloudwolf
Technically, i've been playing since classic, always on f2p. But once rs2 came out, my shoddy computer couldn't take the game engine, and it was terrible. I wanted to continue on classic forever, until they made it members only. I wasn't prepared to pay to play, so i quit. Made this account in about a few months ago, when i finally realised to could play rs2 on my fancy new computer :D Plan to become a member soon, might have a little look at classic again :) 'It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it.'Aristotle VVVV Blog VVVVhttp://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=742 ... highlight=
