i meant pkrs from the older ones, before everyone cared about whatever EVs are.

I remember a time when no one knew what EV, IV, or natures meant. Those were the good days.

what are EVs and IVs anyway?

nowadays people are in it for the competition

*still looks back at the days of red and blue with comfort*

Effort values/individual values. Go to GameFAQs for any help in that stuff, I don't dabble enough into that to be experienced. >_>

Well, I've come a pretty long way since I last posted  I've now seen around 200 pokemon in my National Dex, have Giratina and Heatran, have transferred over most of my old pokemon from Ruby, and am catching Regigigas as we speak. :D

A source on my home site, Nintendo of Europe, tells me that it will be gaurenteed coming out July or later. He tells us that he entered a competition which closes at the earliest 1st July, which seems to imply that it won't be coming out in the EU until July.

My personal advice is to buy off eBay. I know one good London-based eBay seller, who incidently happened to sell me my copy of the new Diamond. I won't mention him here through fear of favouritism, I'm sure you can look for yourselves. If you're that desperate to know, PM me and I'll tell you his name.

There is likely going to be no difference between the two versions anyway. God knows why it's taking so long, but only things like "math" will be changed to "maths" etc. UK versions of the GBA games can be used to trade onto the US versions of D/P anyway, and the DS is region-free, so US versions will be able to trade to UKL versions, that much is true. The only fear is that the US versions won't work on the upcoming Battle Revolution for the Wii, but this is unconfirmed either way.

Thats true for most game systems. The DS doesn't matter really though, it doesn't have restrictions.

Arghh. Seeing as it seems most of my friends got Diamond, one of them is asking me to get him a Houndoom to breed, then give him the Houndour from the egg  the thing is, I know you can find them on Route 214 and 215, but where are they ON there? (In case anyone cares, it's also where Mightyena is on Diamond...)

The 2 games are like Ruby & Sapphire, certain ones in certain games, and a different cover pokemon (Cover of game)

Go with Diamond. It owns pearl

I dont need a siggy no moar.

what is the actual difference...

i don't care about your opinion lol

You can catch certain pokemon in one, and other ones in the other. Plus the pokemon in the box is the legendary for your game, you cant get the other.

Confirmation that its coming out in Europe on July 27th.

Press Release:

With over 100 new Pok̮̩̉̉mon to discover in this epic new adventure, players across Europe can now take on the challenge and search for the new and mighty Legends to save the world! With 3D graphics and making full use of the DS capabilities, including the touch screen, microphone and the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, Pok̮̩̉̉mon Diamond and Pok̮̩̉̉mon Pearl for the Nintendo DS promise to be the most involving, exciting and deep Pok̮̩̉̉mon adventures to date.

Pok̮̩̉̉mon Diamond and Pok̮̩̉̉mon Pearl are already being enjoyed by millions of people. In America, independent sales data gathered by the NPD Group showed combined sales exceeded 1.75 million copies in just 14 days of availability, and in Japan over five million copies have been sold since launch in September 2006!

Set in the beautiful region of Sinnoh - a land of myths and stories about the legendary PokÃÆÃâÃâémon - players begin by assuming the role of a ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¹ÃâPokÃÆÃâÃâémon Trainer̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ who sets off from the town of Twinleaf. Players will meet the PokÃÆÃâÃâémon-mad Professor Rowan, who asks them to join him in his mission to document all the species of PokÃÆÃâÃâémon that exist using a special tool ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ the PokÃÆÃâÃâédex. Players must leave Twinleaf and travel all around Sinnoh to complete this mission, whilst trying to reach their ultimate goal of becoming the PokÃÆÃâÃâémon League champion. This can only be achieved when eight PokÃÆÃâÃâémon Gym Leaders have been defeated. But players need to keep their wits about them, as on their journey they will encounter the shady PokÃÆÃâÃâémon thieves, Team Galactic, and become embroiled in their wrong doings!

True to tradition, collecting and battling PokÃÆÃâÃâémon play a key role in these games and by making full use of the touch screen, the battling system is even easier and quicker to use. What̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s more PokÃÆÃâÃâémon Diamond and PokÃÆÃâÃâémon Pearl can now be connected to the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection allowing you to battle, trade, and voice chat with friends from anywhere in the world!

The immense depth of PokÃÆÃâÃâémon Diamond and PokÃÆÃâÃâémon Pearl is revealed in several new features including the PokÃÆÃâÃâémon Super Contest and the Underground World. The Super Contests take place in the PokÃÆÃâÃâémon Contest Hall, where trainers can enter their PokÃÆÃâÃâémon in to a competition consisting of three trials: Visual (dressing up), Dance (a rhythm game) and Acting (PokÃÆÃâÃâémon perform battle moves to the judges). Trainers can also enter the PokÃÆÃâÃâémon Super Contest with up to three other players using the DS̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s unique wireless functionality. Players can also explore underground tunnels beneath Sinnoh with up to seven other friends, digging up PokÃÆÃâÃâémon fossils, spheres, and other vital items.

Your Pok̮̩̉̉mon from the GBA adventure series need not miss out on your adventures in Sinnoh! By using the Double Slot feature of the Nintendo DS, you will be able to transfer Pok̮̩̉̉mon from Ruby, Sapphire, FireRed, LeafGreen and Emerald version games over to Pok̮̩̉̉mon Diamond or Pok̮̩̉̉mon Pearl, once certain conditions have been met. Also players who have completed the Manaphy Egg mission, in Pok̮̩̉̉mon Ranger, will be able to transfer the Manaphy Egg to Pok̮̩̉̉mon Diamond or Pok̮̩̉̉mon Pearl where it will hatch. To discover more about this mysterious and exciting new Pok̮̩̉̉mon see http://www.manaphy.eu ; for details.

A special stylus is available for those who pre-order (a Dialga stylus when ordering PokÃÆÃâÃâémon Diamond and a Palkia stylus when ordering PokÃÆÃâÃâémon Pearl ) through any GAME store in the UK. PokÃÆÃâÃâémon Diamond and PokÃÆÃâÃâémon Pearl launches across Europe on 27th July 2007 for an estimated retail price of around ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã29.

However, if I imported Pearl or Diamond from US, would I be able to use my Europe copies of Ruby, Sapphire and Fire Red. Thanks
