Ex-Wilderness Guardian

Ex-Solace

Retired from F2P clans indefinitely

That would take up waaay to much server space, plus most addicted people don't even care about the graphics.

99 Slayer since August 2007.

That would be redoing half the game, and it's not even necessary because the graphics will blow no matter what they do.

Plus I think the whole teenage girl thing will end soon (hopefully), because my girlfriend is absolutely in love with him(she is 18), and im beginning to feel threatened by his [Justin Bieber] dashing looks.

Runescape is written in Java, not javascript. They are two complete different things.

Good job padawan. Now for your next task you must....hack through 128 bit encryption, blindfolded. Only then will the force become present in you

I'm pretty sure that javascipt is the language that rs was written in but it still plays off the java basics... not sure though

New sigzor^^

Its java.

To be more specific, its a strain of the java virus known as runescript, wich is just a buttload of forms that they fill in to make java coding easier

Javascript is simple stoof, involving web site navigation

Runescape Runs on a Java platform, and is not related to Javascript (even if they use it on their website).

Runescape itself is coded in *RuneScript*. A programming language Andrew Gower invented. :)

Quest cape obtained at combat level 83, march 07.

I think if they decided the Classic look was better, maybe some addicted people just might post a hate message and go back to what they were doing.

Runescape isn't written in javascript, it's written in Java, a very different language.

Javascript is web based, or rather, it goes in html pages. A lot of amazing things can be done in javascript, but java is much more powerful (and much more confusing >=O)

Java applets can also be embedded in web pages, but some can also be run independently from an HTML page.

gah, just read all the other replies, but I'll leave this since it seems to explain it pretty well too >_>

This made me laugh.. I suppose I should stop being a nerd

Oi, guys sorry,

I'm pretty sure that Runescript is just some engine that they wrote that converts what they put in it into java. It's like using a WYSISYG editor to make a web page, it does all the flashy bits for you, but the code is still there behind it.

Javascript is a much less complex language than Java, but they do share similar syntaxes, like while loops, etc.

Java isn't a virus, and runescript isn't a system of forms :uhh:

Javascript can be used for things other than navigation, in fact it really has infinite uses.

fishing.gif

Runescript was made a shell to make java coding easier for the Jagex haxxors, it IS a series of forms, which they use to add new NPCs and Items.

Please do not disagree with me or i will be forced to eat your heart

EDIT: The whole strain of a virus thing was a joke. Jagex doesnt live in a castle, nor get whipped by master jagex when they do things wrong.

MORE EDIT: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RuneScript ......there you go

I like a mix between the old and new. I like the new animal designs but also like the old log shapes. The new logs remind me of animal remainders.

Anyways, I don't think it is necessary to have both old and new graphics. Just because of the way a few things look, it doesn't affect the game too much.

I prefer the options:

- Low detail

- high detail

- super high detail :P

;)

super high?

how about low-medium-high?

current high-detail already looks like medium, which means only a new high-detail would be needed.

thus, super-high details

I lol'ed at that.

Anyways, what you are suggesting would probably take some time, and I doubt they will ever do it. Too much work if you ask me.

Also, doesn't this belong in RuneScape Bugs & Suggestions?
