As far as I know, anyone can escape the abyss by using a passage that requires no skill. Do you think this guy didn't know about this? Or do you think he was trying to lure me? I wasn't wearing anything expensive, but if he was luring me, hey may have figured out that I had some cash as I just finished selling some expensive potions.
