Would you use a mic?

If RuneScape was to allow people to use mics in games would you use one?

I'm asking this a good amount of games (PC and XBox) games allow this function. And I was curious how many people would actually use it, as it would allow you to be able to guess peoples ages better as well as saving a lot of hassle typing.

It was be a huge cost of bandwidth to the user and Jagex, so i cannot see it being implemented but i find TEamSpeak more user friendly and im not limited to using just the client.

No it will never be added and no I wouldn't use it.

For chatting to my friends I can just use the text chat. You never use the keyboard (Other than to move camera/run) so you can just type your messages.

The reason Xbox and PC games etc. use mics is because the xbox does not have a keyboard by default and if you want to communicate in game, you want to do it on the move. PC games usualy require the keyboard to play and it'd be a pain to have to talk 100% of the time (Although most games feature text chat support too).

It wouldn't work on Runescape, far too many people around at once, on other games there's only like 16 people max that you can communicate with, not to mention I don't want to hear 8 year olds swearing to try and be "cool". Then there's the bandwidth etc.

It's a HORRIBLE idea and anynoe that thinks otherwise is well... It wouldn't work in Runescape, there's only a few situations where It'd be advantagous over text chat (Clan PKing) but that's about 5% max of the population, it'd be easier for them to use outside applications if they feel the need to use voice chat.

No no no no no

I'm not even going to think about Runescape with a mic system. It will be like Halo except about ONE HUNDRED TIMES WORSE

There would be masses of 11-year olds running around screaming into their microphones and shouting bloody profanity with their high pitched voices at a loud deciable level.

No! Dont even think the idea.

Thank you for your time :)

Arggh..I just imagined f2p lumby with the mic system. Now it is bad enough with the text based chat... Noobs trying to chat you up but imagine it with a mic...Wow, you look hot in that members armour, fr33 st0of pl0x!!11! :ohnoes: ...*Dropkicks speakers out window*

I think it would have its benefits and downfalls, like most things but it would be murder, as some one said, at places such as catherby and woodcutting purely because of the amount of spam that some of the more immature players like to produce (especially catherby) but for things like a TET event, i think it would add something to an event where we can all hear eachother...
