dolomite129
Great idea, but there's a problem with banning IPs. Some people have dynamic IPs, meaning they change every now and then (and sometimes more frequently.) I'm not sure exactly how this technology works, but just doing it by IP would probably be impossible. Jagex'd probably have to contact your ISP and ban your address and other stuff to make sure you (or at least your account) can never connect again. Because what if the IP get's reassigned or something? (I think that can happen...) Or your friend wants to get on RuneScape on your computer but can't because no one can ever play on that computer again? IP banning is difficult with dynamic IPs. You have a great idea, and it'll work as long as the technology works with it. Jagex just needs to do more IP stuff, and like I said, I may be wrong, as I'm not totally familiar with the technology. It's dolomite, baby!Dark matter - Each pound of which weighs over ten thousand pounds.

NoMoreDead
I love the idea to bring it back. It would be such a fun thing to do. I'd love to go and view those rulebreakers and poke fun at them while they saw all black. Full support here!
dutycalls5609
It sounds good, but remember, you can change your IP. True and the majority of IPs are dynamic. They change each time you turn your modem on again. So poor Joe Blow, who shares your ISP and plays RuneScape, gets the randomly assigned IP that was banned. He goes to log in and finds his poor self IP-banned. Not being technical (knowing about dynamic IPs), he a-ssumes he'll never be able to play again, cancels his subscription, and gets WoW. We don't want that happening, do we? If you believe you came from monkeys, you probably did.

Tcbskater
i think the disk price would crash even w/ the new plate of re-entry cause if everyone has a plate why would any1 buy a disk???
guthix121
I think this is a great idea. My friend is just obsessed with scamming players in runescape for fun, and whenever he loses an account to being banned, he just makes another one. I support the 3 ban-bam rule, but I think that after a certain amount of time, such as a month, they should be allowed to make a last chance account-just incase they have a change of heart. Npwnage
Since servers cost alot, they should buy only 1 server for it. Then when the banned accounts try to use up their time, they would have to wait until the server gets empty. I guess it would be a good idea. Ginger_Warrior
I disagree with this whole concept. Aside from the fact it is vindictive, and to some extent just hateful, as mentioned before, it would cost Jagex a lot of money that simply doesn't need to be spent. And what would be the point in keeping the Disk of Returning a rare still? IMO, if this idea was to be considered, its use should be reinacted and it should be sold again cheaply at stores. If players lose money, well, that's the world of investment for ya. Sometimes you lose money. That's not Jagex's fault. | Favourite Game Music | Last.fm | HYT Friend Chat Rules |
bonzeben23
awsome idea but i bet disk of returnings would skyrocket or drop into worthless ness as they represent the old black hole Account created on Weds, December 21st, 200599 cooking on December 12th, 2010. 99 Agility on September 30th, 2011. 99 Fletching on August 17th, 2012. 99 Prayer on March 22nd, 2016. 99 Farming on April 4th, 2016. Xizor12
Stupid, Pointless Idea. Jagex have already done this and removed it, why have they removed it? Because it didn't work well, why would jagex do something that they have already done and removed? hybrid2hell
A very well thought out idea! nice job! Personally, i like it, although the one problem i found was when you said that an IP would be banned permanetly. The problem with this is: What if two people share a computer? One person must suffer because the other made bad decisions? (This is how the situation is in my house, so yeah :( ) Other than that, excellent suggestion, i support I engineered this thread with precise variables that I know would cause lul-worthy flames. agira
It sounds good, but remember, you can change your IP. Ban on IP is ever stuppid, other people connect from big networks where 500+ people use same IP, because in some LAN structures they access internet all throught 1 router (example. universities & etc..) just forget IP ban i think Jagex know then they can't ban by IP anyway. Another think is right then a lot of people have dynamic IP adresses and they can change IP, what happen if you got some banned IP then ? Suggestion: You can use Anchor on Waterfiends - is cheap if to compare to GS & effective with crush attack & it hit like Whip.Visit my exp track
PrOfEsIoNaL
I support it. I got afew ideas. Idea: Just make it disk of returning, since they cost afew million only. There will be a "black hole guard" selling it for 1,000 coins each. Change it to become a jail with no enterance and exit, so lawful players can visit unlawful players. The only way to get out is to buy disk of returning from the "black hole guard" just beside the jail. All unlawful players will be teleport outside the jail when their sentance is over. Remove the 3 Ban rule. Permanent banned accounts should be deleted by jagex. FTP player.Goal:85/90 smithing. 12,000,000/100,000,000 coins.Total hacked and scammed losses:1 billion coins +/- (Not in today's currency).
