ThoseTheBrokes
I've only just started to keep an updated diary of my life. I wish I had started 6 months ago when me and my girlfriend started a relationship, I've changed in many ways and done many things I never would have done, felt or experienced. So, my current one has been going for a couple of days now : Do you write one? How long have you been updating it for? and why? My dA account..retired, as of the 1st January 2008. Wasn't that quite hard to do..? I mean because it would've been emotional, not because there was so much to burn : Was there no where you could've hidden it? deloriagod
I have to keep one for my English class (It isn't required to be long, just 40 pages in 5 months).. It's kind of funny to see how my life has changed over the last 5 months. On the first page I was going on about how I loved this girl I was with. 2 Pages later I go on about how she's getting on my nerves. A few pages later I go on about how I'm thinking of breaking up with her.. This goes on and on and now it's up to the point that I hate her and she annoys the hell out of me. (Of course that's not all that I've written about, it was just a big part of my life for a while). I've tried to keep one on my own but my brother, neighbor, and bro's friend love to go into my room and go through stuff. So I've locked up everything I currently don't want them to get at, but I don't want to take the chance of them finding a journal.. My personal life is mine, I don't need them messing around in it. I always hate when I forget my dreams, I've never thought of that. Post an entry? I cannot emphasize how glad you'll be if you have a dream diary. While they're not usually in entry form with paragraphs of writing, you usually have to write out 1-2 sentences right when you wake up or else you normally forget the dream, but those few sentences are all you need for later when you're reading down the list of your dreams to trigger the memory. Otherwise they're gone forever. But all you need is a basic title of a dream to remember it, otherwise it's gone. I read somewhere you spend 6 years of your life dreaming. Why waste so many cool memories when it's so easy to retain them? To me, memories of dreams are just as valuable as memories of real life. But back to the topic of regular journals, I used to write in one when I was younger, but now I only write in one during vacations.
hellbellz
I don't have one. I just don't feel like making one because I wouldn't feel comfortable when my friends find it and joke me, hehe. I would like to do it because in a couple years you can just come back to it and it would be a reminder of what you were like or what you did. :)
Echofish
I don't have one. I'd rather keep my thoughts/dreams all to myself and let them wash away in the future. Ultra Unholy,Hearted Machine...

Lateralus
I've got a book in which I write down ideas, stick down important stuff, scribble and doodle. I don't know what you'd call it, the thing is a mess, but I'm glad I have it. I've never been able to write a diary in the traditional sense, I feel like an idiot writing to myself. My_Eggs
I don't keep one, I feel stupid writing to myself... Besides, if its truely special or worth writing down, should it no be so special that I can remember it forever? Should it not be buzzing it my thoughts every day so that it is easily remembered? :-k 8-) 99 HP, Attack, Strength, Defence, Summoning, Ranged, Herblore, Prayer, Agility, Magic, Slayer, Fletching, Fishing, Woodcutting, Mining, and Thieving. gamblingfool
Eh, I don't need a book to remind me of who I am. (Butterfly Effect ftw?) I did keep a journal when I was maybe 10? It really didn't help me with anything. I'd rather just think about things.
scn64
I've kept one since the end of my senior year in high school which was in 2002. I try to update it every day but sometimes I don't get around to it. It's cool to read about things you've done that you almost forgot about. I usually don't write down my feelings about things, it's more of just a log of what activities I did during that day. So, if someone else read it, there's not really much I'd be embarrassed about. woopidoo2
I was thinking about making a diary of my life also, same as you. I had a diary when I was about 10 years old. I used to put stickers in it and such, and like 5 lines what happened that day. 'Dear Diary' I went to school today, The weather was sunny, Etc. I still have it, funny to read. Obsessive_Passion
When I was younger, I kept a daily journal where I'd keep track of daily events, and lend my emotions a voice. Nowadays, I'm stronger. I don't need a piece of pen and paper to help sort out my anguish. I guess I've adopted different methods of coping over the years. When I have time, I might take it up again. Unfortunately, the only free time I currently have is used for study or to catch up on lost sleep. Gah.
