Its the newest feature to google maps. Not many places have it yet but its showing what is going to be possible in the future.

By the way, I realize this probably would be more fit for tech and computers but lets be honest, not many people visit there. I was on the boarder anyways between that or OT

So any thoughts? I guess it really is true what they say, google is going to take over the world some day. :P

I saw it on the news this morning, pretty incredible. I guess they've only got 5 cities so far but they're working on more. It's nuts.

Just think in a few years being able to check out your front door with it.

Holy, that's insane :o

that...is the awesomest thing i have ever seen...

That'd be crazy to go on mapquest or something and they literally tell you "take a left at the big blue building" or something. I can't tell if it's more cool or more creepy.

Okay, wow, that's going to be awesome when it's properly implemented.

Hmm, i think they may have trouble keeping it "updated" though..

Yeah, it is completely awesome. It's probably only going to be for the big cities though, and won't be able to be updated all that much.

Thats pretty amazing, I imagine they will only do it for the major cities of the countries because of the huge scale the project will take. People could do some great things with it though.

how is this possible?

Imagine to be able to check where the traffic is and everything. A lot easier to predict what route to take.

Unless there's like a live feed webcam installed on every street (eep ) I doubt this will be useful for checking traffic and stuff, it'll just be awesome to be able to go through routes visually.

Isn't this dangerous as it's so easy to check out where people live...perfect tool for stalkers *thinks of the film 'Alone with Her'* :anxious:

Because now only people with authority can access the cameras but this .. can be accessed by anyone.... :ohnoes:

A friend to all is a friend to none.

That reminds me of the movie Deja vu.

That is just crazy.

Ok, In a few years I'll go sit on my front steps. All of you go check all of the streets in Iowa. Goodluck finding me. Cookie to the person who shows me...me!

Its not real-time. And how is having a street view picture any different from aerial or even just a regular road map once you know a postcode?

Its not in real time, is it? If it was, Viktor could have used it when somebody chucked that Molotov Cocktail outside his house, to see whats going on without actually looking outside.
