Hard

Kill the mugger? I mean come one, there ARE no hard tasks in Varrock.

i would think they aren't going to make it varrock as the city but varrock as the area(barb village(security stronghold?) lumbridge al kharid)

Played since February 2001

Kill a barbarian then... Sounds exciting.

Plus I think the whole teenage girl thing will end soon (hopefully), because my girlfriend is absolutely in love with him(she is 18), and im beginning to feel threatened by his [Justin Bieber] dashing looks.

Easy tasks: Buy a hammer from the general store, smith a bronze dagger at the anvils.

Medium tasks: Kill a guard, buy a beer from the bup and drink it!

Hard tasks: Earn 10 kudos from the museum minigame, merchant 100 rune scimmies in w1.

So, looks like Varrock won the votes because of it's makeover. Shame, I was hoping for a Fremmenik (sp) win.

+1 fremmenick ftw

+2 i voted fo rellaka(sp?). There's nothing to do in varrock. :wall:

Why do they ask this from the players. #-o Does it cover whole kingdom of Misthalin then? I hope so. I voted for fremmy too, it will the coolest with Morytania and Al Kharid/Desert diaries.

The best thing I could see coming from this is a reduced price at the Lumber Mill. But I seriously doubt that would happen, if for no other reason, it would totally trash the new Lunar Spell. Nowing how Jagex likes to drain money, they will probably make a Hard Task be to make 1K Mahogany Planks. :x

Anyone with a brain larger than that of half a rodent voted for fremmy. Pity the majority of the rs population has the brain processing power of a pretzel...

A bit too harsh there.. Varrock is being a real bad choice here but that does not mean we should not even consider other options than fremmy..

Strangely with WotLK so near, I wished I could delay it a bit to push through that last TBC content in MH/BT :'(.

I'm not surprised in the least. Part of it was probably the fact it just got updated, but the big thing was that lazy lower levels won't put in the work to open up that area. Varrock was the most convenient for them, so they just voted for that. Fremminik Trials just probably isn't something they're willing to do. I don't really look forward to this update, I don't know how they could possibly make it interesting to do Varrock, Unless they include barbarian village/digsite/wilderness/Edgeville. Maybe they will find some way, I don't know.

I voted Fally.

...Anyone out there wirth me?...

....Guess not. :(

I voted Fally too.

Also, there is a chance that these ADs will extend into the wilderness. I could possibly see catching a black salamander as a challenge, although that might be a bit far north, or perhaps scoring a kill in the first 5 levels of the wilderness. The chaos that would insue in the first week makes my mouth water.

And as other people have said, there could very well be new updates coming to Varrock with this update. The sewers are old. It was probably the first dungeon I ever went to in the latter part of 2001. When it was first added, a couple moss giants was a (somewhat) decent monster to have at the end of the dungeon. But it has long been outdated, and could very well use an update.

Look, if your mom still drops you off at school, you ain't gangsta, pull up your damn pants!

a hatrd task i suppose would be defeating one of the champions in the champions guild.now thta would be a shame because champion scrolls are so rare.i have had an imp, skeleton and 2 giants.luckily i have hillie one in my bank so im ok if that happens :o

fremmy should have one.everyone would say that a hard task would be killing a dagganoth king but that would be unlikely.i would say that killing all 3 of the waterbirths residents, wassilikis, giant rock crabs, dagganoths would be waaaay more suitable i my oppnion.

this is a bad result in my oppnion.varrocks will no doubt be bad,and thats one of the most negatie predictions ive had since i usually support upcoming updates.

surprising

it was a mistake to have this poll so close after the Varrock update, it was bound to sway the vote. Who knows.. maybe that was their intention all along. I know that 90% of tif and anyone with half a brain voted for fremmy.

It was tough for me, but i voted for ardougne in the end. I love that city because there is so much thieving stuff to do...and i like thieving :o . But i wanted something else to do there, something that would bring people to there. But Fremmy would have been just as great. Anyway...varrock i suppose will be ok, but not as good as the other 2.

I don't know how they could do a hard task there, because varrock is a city for beginning, not for challenging things necessarly. An easy one right off the bat is killing a dark wizard..i'm guessing...a medium will be..wow i have no idea.

I voted for seers, mind explaining what about the decision made me an idiot?

One possible plus side of Varrock winning is that the gloves or whatever could cheapen rune prices at the store or something, which is useful for merching.

And I voted seers, not fremmy because I don't want to do the Fremmy Trials, and therefore I would have nothing to do.

I voted Varrock, blame me.

The Varrock achievement diary, as stated many times before, will cover the whole area surrounding it.

Hard tasks could include :

- Enchanting orbs

- Defeating a champion

- Complete the museum(Need alot of questing done for that)

- Kill a black demon (or w/e big demon is in the edgeville dungeon)

- Mining an adamantine rock (Not everybody has 70 mining)

- Smithing some high-level thing..

And so on...

Yes I know that nothing in this is EXTREMLY HARD or requires great levels.. But you have to remember why Varrock was chosen. The vast majority of players arent level 100+ players with 1800 total level, that have done everything they possibly can in the game. The players that voted (like me) want something they will be ABLE to do

edit : Varrock won, not because "It was just updated" or "noobs only know Varrock"... Even if these may have influenced players, it won because its the area the MOST peoples want updated.

Quest cape obtained at combat level 83, march 07.

For everyone who keeps pointing out the Museum and Champions' Guild Challenges as possibilities... unless Jagex changes how those two 'minigames' works, they won't be included.

Notice that every single challenge in the Karamja Achievement Diary is something that can be done over and over. It does not include things like "Complete Tai Bwo Wannai Trio Quest", because there are people who would have already completed it, and would never be able to complete it again. There are (a few) people in the game who have completed the Challenges, and a very great number who have completed the Museum.

I could be wrong, and Jagex might just go ahead and cross those off the lists of the people who had completed them. My only evidence against this is a few Jmod quotes (undoubtedly dead to the '50 page monster', by now), in which Paul (I believe, could've been someone else), said that the Achievement Diary was to give you a reason to do things you may not do very often in an area. This means things that can be done at any time, not things you can only do once. As I said, I could be wrong, but unless they change the Achievement Diary's purpose, or make the minigames re-doable, the Museum and the Challenges will not be featured on Varrock's Diary.

I am very disappointed, although not surprised, with the outcome of this poll. Quite frankly, they need to just discontinue the GC polls, as they will always end up with noobs throwing the poll in favor of what looks easiest or most familiar. :boohoo: This sucks. I am going to have a good laugh at all the rants that will occur due to how horrible the update will be, when they release the Varrock Diary. :wall:
