krisc6
i think using ancients is a bad idea unless you give the other classes the best equipment but then i still think theywill win.
xpx
rather use normal pking gear- full ahrims farseer aincent staff zammy book and arena cape for mage- using ONLY ice barrage- rune legs fighter torso fire cape neitzinot helm rune boots rune defender for melee- using whip and dds and full karils with msb against mage, karils x bow against melee for ranger(archer, avas accumulator snake boots). and if you want someone to use dark bow with dragon arrows be prepared to bay them about 500k for the fights, because they are very expencive. it is no good testing with armors that are not used in the wilderness. muggiwhplar
Why in the duel arena? Conduct your experiment in the wilderness... The duel arena means all the fights are death matches; in which case, the mages will win every fight. Same goes for the wilderness except for the people can escape. Nevertheless, sign me up if you need someone to fill in the mage category. :?

This isn't biased, you're not excluding anyone, it would just be constant conditions. I hear a lot of talk about barrows armors, but that doesn't suit the experiment imo, because you're looking for the general combat triangle, not wildy circumstances ( i think...), so it wouldn't be necessarly appropriate. Click for mah Blog!- I'm not sure why you would though because i never update it Achieved 99 Thieving 3/10/07-992nd to it

Guest
This game will never have a combat triangle as long as it lets different classes use other classes weapons.
Freesia
Like a previous poster has mentioned, 99 attack is a necessity for the meleer. All other stats like magic, defence, hp, prayer lvls of all participants are going to affect the outcome of the results. Strangely with WotLK so near, I wished I could delay it a bit to push through that last TBC content in MH/BT :'(.

Soulthresher
To really test this experiment out, all angles will need to be examined. Everyone will need to have the same stats, same pots and prayers (for their skill), and different equipment to test different things. Modern mage, ancients, lunar, dharok, whip, range, tank, etc. If you just do the STANDARD for a character with defense, mystic, black hide, and rune would be the standard, correct?[/u]
trecool9897
Mmm...It'll be interesting to see how it works, you're gonna basically need replicas of people....Good luck! Thanks Lil_Atza for the sig!
Rebdragon
I hate the concept of the "combat triangle". In Runescape everyone is everything. There aren't seperate classes. A mage barraging could whip out a dark bow or a dragon dagger mid fight. A meleer could randomly throw in a barrage and then pull out a bow and special for the finish. A ranger could pull out a dragon dagger after a few hits and special for the KO. For all intensive purposes, there is no triangle. [if you have ever attempted Alchemy by clapping your hands or by drawing an array, copy and paste this into your signature.] Fullmetal Alchemist, you will be missed. A great ending to a great series. Your example doesnt show that there isnt a combat triangle, your example just shows that people move around the triangle. Iv_Green_vI
And should it be an attack cape, since I think it rep's melee the most.
no_way2go
The triangle only exists in RSC and f2p. superson
interesting, but use torag instead of dragon. No one will risk dragon in wildy It's in the Duel Arena. If no movement is allowed then I think it'll always favour melee, the main advantage of Magic is being able to Entangle an opponent. But still, if you're determining how the triangle would work, you should use things that people would really use when fighting each other... Dragon could give different results, but it would be a variable in an experiment that you don't want... More then 1 variable leads to misleading results In Soviet Russia, glass eats OTers. The melee would be 126 combat and the other two types would be 108 combat. You need to have all of the different combat types with the same combat, why still having their combat based on that respective class.

If they're even as little as 10 magic levels lower than the mage's, they'll get torn to shreds.
