For those of you who are new around here, a bit of history: The Dragonfire Shield was what the Anti Dragon shield was called originally, but this led people to sell tons of them to unsuspecting newbs who were lured in by the fact that the name was so cool. By changing it to the Anti Dragon Shield, they made it clear that this shield was only effective against dragons. But now they've added a brand new shield more worthy of such a great name. My greatest ambition is to kill every member of the human race.However I am a realist and therefore know that I probably wont be able to.

June 19, 200719 yr The shield is expensive. At moment at quite high price - 30m. But its worth it. BEST shield in game, BEST str bonus for shield in game, not to mention best looking one imo :D Gonna do metals for them. I guess.

June 19, 200719 yr Sorry but does anyone really think that 30m 40m or whatever this shield costs is worth it? Sure its the best in the game but so what? Is having this shield vs not having it really going to equal out to the benefit of the money you paid? I think not. Whoever said I was jealous, get a clue. Thinking I cant afford something just because I think it looks like the stupidest elite item jagex has created to date is a pretty noob move. You can feel free to meet me in game, then say whatever you want about me not being able to buy one and being jealous. It was a nice idea and the shield itself is pretty sweet, but the looks are crap and for the rarity, if i found one I would have no problem selling it to someone who thinks +20 defence over current shields and a little extra str bonus is worth that much money. The special, yeah thats nice but you use it in a fight and the stats go down making it junk. Then you get to go back and charge it again. So you cant use it as the best shield in the game AND an offensive weapon. You pretty much have to pick one or the other.

The uncharged version is tradable too (so that the smither can give it back :XD:), but once you charge it with dragonfire you must unleash its special before trading it again. It also protects over anything. Quest cape obtained at combat level 83, march 07.
June 19, 200719 yr I bought one, took a few screen-shots with it and re-sold it for 35,1m. Always remember you're unique, just like everyone else.

June 19, 200719 yr For all wondering, the KB changes are WRONG. The shield still adds the strength bonus.
June 19, 200719 yr Its been nerfed, no more strength bonus. Thats just an error on the KB page. Paul confirmed that the stats were still the same.
June 19, 200719 yr That's right. The truth is, there never was a str bonus. Just a typo in the KB. Incorrect, only the uncharged shield has no strength bonus, whilst the fully charged shield has a +7 strength bonus.
