June 28, 200719 yr http://www.smokefreeengland.co.uk/what- ... guide.html Personally, I'm so glad this has been both proposed and agreed upon by the government. I'm British myself, Bring it on I say. Cut down on this disgusting habit. My dA account..retired, as of the 1st January 2008.
June 28, 200719 yr I'm all for the ban in all public places. However smoking has been banned on buses for a long time but still there are people at the back lighting up. A friend to all is a friend to none.
June 28, 200719 yr Here in Canada, we have had the exact same thing for about 5-6 years now. After the initial shock, people will get used to it, and not care anymore. It's such a nice law. Sig by IkuraiYour Guide to Posting! Behave or I will send my Moose mounted Beaver launchers at you!
June 28, 200719 yr The ban has been in place up here for a while now. The only time I notice it is when I pass a big workplace where there are alot of people having a smoke or in the pub where the stench of smoke is replaced with sweat and bad breath. I'm all for it though, I hate nothing more than sitting coughing because of other people's smoke - especially if I'm eating. He who learns must suffer, and, even in our sleep, pain that cannot forget falls drop by drop upon the heart, and in our own despair, against our will, comes wisdom to us by the awful grace of God. - Aeschylus (525 BC - 456 BC)
June 28, 200719 yr Yeah I hate it when you are walking past someone and they just puff out their smoke everywhere so you smell it. ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã50 for getting caught, hmm. ☢ CAUTION ☢ CAUTION ☢ CAUTION ☢ CAUTION ☢
June 29, 200719 yr Yeah I hate it when you are walking past someone and they just puff out their smoke everywhere so you smell it. Agreed. The worse is walking behind a smoker with the wind blowing it in your face. I either skip ahead or hold my breath if I can't pass by. :-# The number of people smoking around my school did cut down after the law was enforced here in Canada. A noticeable change; thank goodness. :D But still :uhh: .: Gallery :. Away :( -cheers all!
June 29, 200719 yr Sounds like a good law for everyone. You can still smoke in homes, hotels. I don't see why the smokers can be too angry.
June 29, 200719 yr Author Yeah I hate it when you are walking past someone and they just puff out their smoke everywhere so you smell it. ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã50 for getting caught, hmm. Hmm indeed. Should be more, however, a fine is a fine, ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã50 for doing something you know you should not be doing seems reasonable. Companies can be fined up to ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã2,500 if they still allow smoking inside the workplace, could be more, I'm not to sure. My dA account..retired, as of the 1st January 2008.
June 29, 200719 yr Author Updated the link to the official website, not sure why I didn't do that in the first place :| . But anywhoo. I've tried smoking twice, both times I was blatantly drunk, but I still fully experienced it, It was dishearting. I felt like such a disappointment, I had always said to myself 'never smoke, never be tempted, never even hold a relationship with a smoker' Well, I broke all three. I'd give anything to go back and never touch that cancer-stick. My girlfriend did stop smoking, which was pleasing, although she still does it at the occasional parties, which I'm working on  I just don't see the point in smoking, period. June 29, 200719 yr I just don't see the point in smoking, period. It relieves stress for people. At the same time it causes stress - buying cigarettes, the need for them. :wall:

June 29, 200719 yr Ohio recently passed a smoking ban too. It's been so great since that happened. Mainly where I was working at the time. The break room was always filled with 3-4 people smoking so I couldn't even go in there without choking.

June 29, 200719 yr Bravo, England! Now if only America could do the same! I have never understood the point of smoking. Paying to give yourself cancer while annoying everyone arround you? No thanks. You only have to type four extra keys for me to not think "ur" an idiot.solardeathray.teensupergenius.com

June 29, 200719 yr Don't bring it to Australia >.>my Grandmother will get the dates wrong again  I dont need a siggy no moar.
June 29, 200719 yr We recently got one here in Jersey, from smoking in public places indoors. I was preety happy about that, one more step in the fight.
June 29, 200719 yr In the U.S. it is illegal to smoke in restaraunts in *most* cities, forcing people to do it outside. A good idea no doubt, and one which no one *should* complain about. ~~Let The Dragon ride again, on the winds of time~~I've always felt as if I'm the only person who can understand the concept of sarcasm on the internet.

June 29, 200719 yr I'm also from Canada and we have had this law for years now, and it definitely helps prevent second hand smoke. If you go inside any public buildings here the no-smoking sign will be there for sure.
June 29, 200719 yr I have trouble believing this will go through in America. The tobacco industry is big here, and, you know, lobbyists...
