Personally I think it would highly benifit Runescape players if this was implemented. Not only could players get answers to their questions/concerns in real time (unlike Customer Support), but Jagex's image as a whole would improve . To deter rule breakers, there would be severe consequences for spamming (maybe a ban from clan chat altogether?) Logistically, 10 or 15 chatrooms may not acommodate the whole of RuneScape, so maybe a queue system and a time limit could be imposed. Like 5 minutes per day or so. There would be too many posts like what Jackstick posted(see above). It'd be worse than Zezima surrounded by 1000 level 3 newbies. If you want to talk to a Jagex Staff Mod, you might as well try to talk to them through PMs. And even that has a very, very rare chance of happening. They don't have as much time to enjoy the game and its social aspect as much as we do. Jagex, I think, already know that if this chatroom were to be created there would be an incredible amount of j-mod lovers who squeal like little girls when they see the famous golden crown. Even though j mods could simply ban the naughty players, I think it would put an incredible amount of stress on j mods if they were doing it constantly. Randox Posted August 16, 2007 Share Posted August 16, 2007 As great as this service would be for the more inteligent people in the community, from my experiance with the RS community, and real life public relations (I'm a life gaurd, we have to deal with lots of crap sometimes :x ), the J-mods would proboly dread the time when they are availible. I don't see why we should make the mods misserable by having them run a service that would likely be abused. Maby im a bit cynical (proboly, which is a shame because Im not that old) but I rwally don't have much faith in the RS community as a whole. Even with a no spamming rule people would still start accounts just to spam them, and new players wouldn't realize that asking "can you give me a crown", or "is there a guy that will give me full dragon" is spamming. However, if there was a required level to enter them(nothing to high just enough to deter level 3 accounts made just to spam, and make it so you've played enough to know that those above questions are pretty much spamming), and if they divided people in to groups and gave them different days of the week and time limits than maybe it could work. It would be to heavily crowded, even with 15-20 Chats. 2. There would be to many 'noobs', if you get what i mean. Who will ask annoying questions like stated above. Hey i even had to tell one where the Yannile house portal was once when he was coming to my house! (oh how we teased him! :P) The reason the CS takes it's current form is that if they dont know answers they can hand on to another person..... there would just be alot of no/wrong info given out. Then these channels would be flooded.... answers would get missed and people would become annoyed! it would not be good for relations. Also as already stated people would abuse it alot, sure there is a kick feature but it would be unmanageble. The only thing I can see as doable is a focus group type idea where Jmods can invite players to discuss features in a mature and managed (small scale) way.... that could work but fully open channels would not.
