malo2
I just recently made a quick search on the forums and found that magic roots are sold by the hundreds, it amazes me that they are still worth 50k ea. As far as i know they are only used for cbow strings(nobody wastes 50k on that) and ammys of nature, so why are they still 50k ea and not like 5-10k ea? DRUMINATOR17
As someone said above they're also used for super stong anti poison pots. Listen to the 96 Farmers, they know best  But yes you do bring up a valid point, ive planted about 20 magic trees myself, which is a quite a noob amount compared to many other people that actually farm alot, yet I nor many other people I know have a nature amulet. Seeing as how you can only have 1 nature ammy per patch? or at a time, or whatever it is, its odd they still go for 50k each. I thought people usually used the yew roots anti potion pots, guess the mage root ones really make that big of a difference :XD: CLICK - 770th to 99 SLAYER 2/4/08 - 204th to 99 Summoning 7/1/08 CLICK[Hide=List of Drops That I haven't updated in Years but want to keep in my Sig anyways...]VISAGE DROP - 12/06/073 Duo Sara Hilts, 3 Duo Arma Hilts, 2 Trio Arma Hilts.Dark Bows: (11) Dragon Boots: (50!)Whip Drops: (42!!!) mario_sunny
In this situation I don't think it's demand dramatically affecting the prices. It takes a good 8 hours to grow a magic tree, and it could even die in the process. Even when you dig it up you only recieve one magic root. So, assuming you checked back every once and a while to the tree, I'm sure you could get around 2, maybe even 3 a day. So, my theory is, it's not so the demand, it's how hard it is to obtain magic roots. By popular demand, this signature is back- however I currently do not have a blog up at the moment and if I did I wouldn't update it. Sorry, the sig links to nowhere :( . xpx
i still have about 60 roots left from farming, used to have 300+, but they never sold well so i haven't been bothered to sell any now(sold a few for 1m+ ea :P). So yes, we make super strong antipoisons- 4 dose at start and 13 minutes not getting poisoned- very useful at dk and stuff. First to 99 Farming on 27. September, 2005.First to 3766 Port Score on 20. flying_death_bombs55
Only a handful of people can actually farm them, even less can actually STAND to farm them. Thats why they are expensive(not for me though :P ) When you mentioned the Dragon Plates I had a sudden vision of a load of gangsters running around in fancy dress yealling "Grim Reaper in da hood!" Freesia
i have a nature amulet People only need one throughout their farming "career" :? The main demand should go with what dusty said. onauric
Magic seeds cost around 150k-180k ea so the farmer wants something more back than just experience from buying it. That's why they don't want to sell them just for 5k-10k ea. Rsn: Onauric Combat: 136 Total: 2150+ All quests done since: 3rd December 2005
Platinum_Myr
I agree with onauric... They sell them because the farmers want money back, and since not that many people get them, they set the price very high to make some cash. Berrakus
I agree with onauric... They sell them because the farmers want money back, and since not that many people get them, they set the price very high to make some cash. That doesn't make any sense. Just because you want to sell an item for a certain price doesn't mean that you can. You are only talking about the supply side. If there is no demand, then it doesn't matter what the supply side is as nobody will buy them. Magic Roots have 4 uses. Nobody would use them to make Supercompost or to make a Crossbow String when they could make the same items with any of the lower roots. Nature Amulets are used and are still decently priced, but since people can only use one, the only people who would buy Magic Roots in bulk to make Nature Amulets are merchants. The Super Strong Anti-Poison can be very helpful in places such as DKs and since this is a consumable product, I'm sure serious DKers buy Magic Roots in bulk. Since I'm not a merchant and I don't DK, I can't tell you how strong the demand is, but it's obviously strong enough to keep the price as high as it is right now. Capone_Sabre
Only about 1% of members have the ability to farm magic trees (11,000) most of which would rather sell any seeds they get since they are so expensive. So the demand for nature amulets is high compared to the supply. I have no problem selling mine for 70-75k. Super strong anti poison pots are a waste and I doubt many people make them. At around 80k per 4 dose pot they have no practical use. I DK almost every day and I don't know anyone that uses them. The extra strong pots are more than sufficient.
