There is a lot of talk about the impending "god wars dungeon" and the "fantastic loot" that will be introduced into the game with it. Do you anticipate an across the board drop in prices as people sell their items for cash (to buy god dungeon loot)?

it depends on the rarity. If it is 3rd age rare, then most rares will suffer. If it is dark bow rare, then probably not. Also, it depends on the difficulty. If you need 120+ combat to do it, prices are going to remain very high for a very long time.

The loot would take time to accumulate and would probably be very expensive so no.

Maybe for a few days, depends how hard the dungeon is, and if a lot of people decide they cant / dont want to do it then there going to decide there done with it and buy whatever they had before and go back to doing whatever they were doing before.

I don't remember whether I was playing at the time but certainly since then most people couldn't care less about it. When the dragon full helm was introduced a lot of people including myself chose not to buy one simply because of how it looks (3rd age armour also looks awful). It'll depend on the advantages of the drops and how they look. But even if they are very cool, their prices may be too high so most players would not sale rares they worked very hard for to get it straight away. Overtime like with a lot of things the prices may drop.

Suffer is a wrong word here, I'd personally use "how will it adapt to the new situation?" instead.

 

 

 

The causes will depend fully from the sword itself. If it's a failure like the dark bow or dragon large, the affect will be minimal. If it's something that everyone must have, like whips were when they came, it will affect a lot. Lets look closer at both scenarios.

 

 

 

Failure (not just worth getting)

 

Last few "big" items have been like this. If it's not powerful enough to match against whip or has a bad shop value (=can't protect), the price will fall down pretty fast and its affect to the rare prices are minimal. Good examples of items like that were dark bow, dragon 2 hander and dragon large. Basically they didn't offer any reason to get them, thus the prices dropped a lot.

If the best scenario comes, this item is something everyone must get, both pkers and trainers. Also if it's hard enough to obtain, the prices won't come down too quickly. This would drain a lot money away from people who are cabable of buying rares and it would make people to sell them to obtain this. This could cause few things: slightly cheaper rare prices and later them boosting a lot. The same happened with whips: many people bought them at first instead of rares but eventually they created so many rich people that the demand of rares went up.

I personally hope that the Godsword is untradable. I'm sick of the bombardment of extraordinarily rare garbage that only benefits those who are already filthy rich and merchants.

 

 

 

I do expect the release of either a Dragon Pic or Dragon boots, in addition to the Godsword, however. I believe both of those will affect the economy quite drastically.

Some folks are tired of so many high stat equipment that cannot be dropped when the person is killed in wildy, like fighter torso and fire cape.

The only effects on the economy will be 12k prayer pots 15k super sets and 1.5k sharks. Regardless of the God Sword's rarity(in fact the rarer the less the effect will be) it wont replace the whip, because the whip is such an efficient weapon.

And the economy is probably not going to go down as much, Even when D fulls came out, they had a sepreate group who wanted to buy, and, to my knoledge, nothing really bad happened to the prices of anything.

Unless it can train strength. Then it may be the brand new whip for those who have the stats/cash.

 

And who knows, there may be other weapons besides the God Sword, maybe some new 1-handed 70 attack weapons ( :pray: ). These items may become welcome new members to the weaponry of Runescape, and thus, the prices of whips may drop.

 

But I know next to nothing on the Runescape economy, so don't quote me on this.

It may cause some problems, but if it's a hit and hard it'll probably boost the economy in secondary goods such as potions and food.

We just don't know, but I do think with all the expectations created, the prices of sup sets, p pots and sharks will rice.

Lots of selling in the discontinued section of the forums, very little buying. I see a slight drop in santas so far (someone wants to sell for 21.5 mil and will come to buyer's place and world).

 

 

 

To me, this is not surprising at all; I'll be interested to see how far prices drop and how long the drop lasts (for all I know it could be minimal in both cases).
