Also I think the amount of time they spent on the update is irrelevant. If the update sucks, then it sucks, it doesn't matter how long they spent on it. This update only benefits a minority of players so I am not shocked that the majority are complaining and I do not blame them. I'm only level 97 but this update has offered nothing for me except the ability to pay more money for items and another annoying slayer task to change

People are stupid, so they complain. Complaining is a part of life, and sometimes its useful, but usually it isnt. Im sure Jagex is used to it by now and WILL NOT listen to the noobs on RSOF.

If he brought an item as difficult-to-replace as a Fighter Torso into somewhere that he knew was supposed to be extremely dangerous (on his first time in as well)... that's his mistake. Jagex gave ample warning. Of course it's not his fault for his computer shutting off... but it's not Jagex's fault either.

I think people who rant like this after every single update are incredibly sad. Jagex do an outstanding job with all their updates; people have to realise that not every update works for them. This is one of the first updates in a while I haven't been able to do because of the difficulty.

 

Do I complain? No! It is something I can look forward to doing when I get more experienced. I think it is also stupid to complain if something is an update aimed for lower levels and you find it easy. Jagex can't just focus on one combat area otherwise the game wouldn't be as versatile as it is, people have to realise that.

I disagree with that, there are loads of well thought out rants which have some very good points. I've also had some very good discussions there, I like that place!

i agree that some people can make a well thought out rant. unfortunatly to find them you have to wade through the stupid ones :wall:

 

personally i find moaning about moaner just as bad as the moaners, but there you go =/

 

 

 

perhaps there should be two subforums in the rants section:

 

'smart, well thought out complaints, with acceptable problems and feasable suggestions' (2-3 comments a day)

 

and

 

'the rest' (2-3000000 comments a day

the sad truth is, jagex can never please everyone. there will always be haters. i personally enjpoy god wars. it gives alchers a good place to alch, and tons of good drops to alch, and plenty of monsters to kill. i always dreamed of such a war of the gods, but figured there would never be such a thing. yet jagex found a way to make it rational. gj jagex!

To be fair, there aren't that many intelligent people on the official forums. A lot of their posts are breaking rules nowadays. The rants forum is always full of people want to have a good old moan about something Jagex took their time to make for them, but it's rare that people will compliment them.

 

 

 

I guess the Official Forums attract that type of person. :o

 

 

 

A few years ago when i posted there you could actually see frequent complimentary threads on new updates, but that kind of died out. :-s

 

 

 

But Jagex can never please everyone, so with every update, there will always be moaners. But as time goes on, it seems like there is more of an abundance of moaners. -.-

i saw sooo many rants about mages being underpowered this and that.. Yes mages did get the short end of the stick only recieving a staff which not many care to buy. But rangers didn't get anymore powerful than we are now.. I mean rangers did get some nifty new armor but that doesn't make em any stronger. Melee is the one that got the BIG advantage now lol.. The godsword is INSANE from the pics i've seen.. they got armor and the Saradomin sword which looks to have some promise even though i'm yet to see anyone with..

 

 

 

I personally love this update it was great all around. Us higher levels got an update it took a while lol. I really can't complain about the update i had a lot of fun killin the monsters

There will always be those lame, little children who don't like the fact that their character isn't able to kill the monsters in the current update. As here at God Wars, they whine because they aren't good enough to kill the bosses. I'm quite sure Jagex know they have done a great job with this. :)

Well... I have talked to the developer of this before it was released (mod greg) in clan chat, and he was guessing what people would be ranting about :P

 

 

 

 

 

It's taken for granted these days that there will be alot of rants about every update... it's a fact!

 

 

 

It's not suprising really though.... there are 1,000,000 account with acsess to the forums, they are bound to be people who honestly dont like the update, and to be honest 90 people out of a possible million aint that many rants.

 

 

 

The only update I remember that got no rants (other than a few people stressed over gout weed) was achivment diarys..... It was amazing the lack of rants on that one! (it was extreamly good though.... mod maz ftw!).

 

 

 

Any company will tell you that they dont expect compliments, it's human nature in this day and age not to say thankyou in public.... although everybody loves to complain! :P

So thats what i think, props to jagex for making such an intense and cool update, even if its not the greatest, i cant see it as being something to rant about...

looks and plays like pac sumt off my atari. toss in the rewards and continuing damage to the balance of the game in regards to what they promised four years ago concerning classes. meh. I'm retired for 3 months already and gotta say, it sure isn't what it was in its heyday.

 

 

 

and no i'm not a noob, or a rich snobby high lvl. I'm a dude who earnt my lvls and enjoyed the time I spent in the game till the end. Although I have to hand it to em they made it into the late 20th century while only in the early 21st with guild chat, and such an "instaince" run is definatly an upgrade. although its still ghetto rs, everyone stand around and hope A)someone next to you dies B) you can steal a kill.
