vapour
From the 3-4 years I've been playing RuneScape, I have not seen this scam until today. First he tried to scam me. He put up 90k for my 1k salmon then I accepted. On the second trade screen, it said it was only 900gp so I declined. He traded me again. I put up 1k but then he put up 180k cash. I assumed he wanted to try and "scam" 2k salmon now. I put up 2k salmon and immediately accepted. This is what came on the second trade screen, anyone know how it works? Hacked on January 5, 2007 --> Lost: 56.4M, Santa Hat, Purple Partyhat, Green Partyhat, Christmas Crackerpeople who get rich and do it legit like joob and I always get f'd over in the end. Randox
I've always figured it's some sort of computer program that changes the offer, because it happens so fast.

Kill_Thomas9
He probably has a program that removes the coins, adds 1 coin, and accepts again the second it sees another item on the screen, or the second he presses a button. And I'd say it is one coin.

jemathonical
Salmons are the food that most level 20-40 F2P people use. They are relatively new and would fall for this scam more than anyone else. ^Sir Jem 05-The Bunny Drinking Blog?^ Click it!

Dr_Locust
Doesn't the 2nd screen flicker RED whenever a change like that is made? If you look towards the bottom of the scammer's trade window, it says "Trade modified" in red letters, too. Part of the Star Traks network. (^^Clicky!) WildxYak
Unless they have mastered the skill of right-click > remove-x coins > enter the number to leave 1 coin > then enter and accept trade very quickly. You can hover over Accept as you press enter to accept the remove-x coins. 99: Agility 28/12/14|Thieving 20/03/
warren211
well if he did change the offer to 1gp, why does it say coins in plural? and why on earth would someone scam salmon? [hide=]tip it would pay me $500.00 to keep my clothes ON :( :lol:But then again, you fail to realize that 101% of the people in this universe hate you. Yes, humankind's hatred against you goes beyond mathematical possibilities. That tears it. I'm starting an animal rebellion using my mind powers. Those PETA bastards will never see it coming until the porcupines are half way up their asses.[/hide]Apparently a lot of people say it. iwatake
Most singular items on runescape are called plural, even if they are one. Don't ask me why, but that's the way it's set up... :|

Dragon_lord
The "Warning Trade Modified!" thing isn't enough. What they need to do is disable the "accept" option on the 2nd trade screen and make it activate automatically only after the 2nd trade screen has been present for 5 seconds. This will force both players to check the screen and make sure the trade is right. Pretty much what Dragon said.Thread terminated.I guess that means I'm the thread Terminator? No Tip.Iters were harmed in the making of this post.
