Well I really think that broad arrows are a pretty good way to train range if your using a bow.

 

 

 

Pros

 

Almost equavent (sp) to addy arrows

 

Pretty cheap. Around 65gp or so each

 

Untradable which means that if you didn't finish a monster and there is 2 stacks, other players wouldn't be able to take them.

 

 

 

 

 

Cons

 

You need 55 slayer and 50 range to use them.

 

They are members only

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

So this is why I think broad arrows are underrated.

Yes. I always used magic shortbow + broad arrows when i wanted to do my kurask tasks.

I'm quite sure that the price for broad arrows was like 5gp each when they were relased. But Jagex quickly found out that this was way too cheap and the price is now 60gp each?

Seam to remember on slayers relise they were low priced, and obviously stocked in large quantities, but tradeable, merchants went around buying them up for precicly the reason you just said, hence they are untradeable, to stop people making a hideous profit of them...

 

 

 

they seam okay though, id rather skip the tasks that youd need them for, and use chins for range...

Sorry was unclear, with all the range updates then there are far far better ways to train range than the old msb and iron (etc) arrows, Chins being a prime example, dark bow to a lesser extent to. They are underrated for what they are, which as you've pointed out does have good points, they are a pain to buy in any sensible bulk though! And just at 65, thats around what just above miths, you could easily buy a lot more of them..

OT: I do believe there are still people that use the plain msb and arrows to train range, you never know :wink:

broad arrows were like 5-6 gp per arrow originally, but arrow makers/merchants [bleep]ed like crazy about it.

 

 

 

 

 

they are good, they hit just as good as addy arrows. im not sure if they hit as frequently but honestly, dont care. i use them @ cw sometimes, before i used my crystal bow constantly.

 

 

 

this has been discussed before. but, yes its been a while and they are very good arrows. i think i hit a few 19s with them around 87 ranged with the new ranged prayer.

this means a crystal bow is a much better choice, because it's only 180k to charge (when charged 5 times) so that makes 72 gp per arrow and it's stronger than adamant arrows

i think for kurask/turoth task they are underrated people complain bout the lame spear but they can just range them

 

 

 

for other rangeing i think that no cause they are sorta expensive ranging from 60-100 ea in the shop

Addies are what 160-200ea? so for 80 ea you are potentially getting 2.5 broads to 1 addy arrow. Which isn't quite bad if you pick up your arrows.

I don't think you were getting flamed mate, I think they were trying to correct the price.

 

 

 

Whoever said about crystal, you can't pick up those arrows can you? In speed yes it is better, in overall exp no crystal isn't, these would be better...
