Decreased Attendance in Tipitchat

Recently in there past few days tipitchat has declined drastically. From 30-40 People to this:

 

 

 

 

 

 

What has happened?

 

 

 

There has been many reasons like school,spammers(pictures posted below), also even the whole chat system is declining. I want to hear your reason.

 

 

 

If you think someone deserves to be a Chat Mod and I meen DESERVES Contact Lightning via Tipit Pm.

There's too many variables that are causing the decrease in activity in my own opinion:

 

 

 

1. School, I know I'm only getting on for like an hour, or two if lucky, and its my first year in High School, so going further into the year, more work I'm sure will mean less time on the computer, let alone RuneScape. Those who have University are either living in residence, or living on their own, and possibly a part time job, where some are still at home, but unable to go on cause of the work, I presume. Like before, once the groove kicks in, possibly the tip.It Chat will gain a few more users.

 

 

 

2. Spammers, its bad, I don't even go on because there's spammers, even if I do go on the chat and if i get in a good discussion in 5 minutes its destroyed by spammers. So good chats aren't easy to do, which leads to unpopularity.

 

 

 

3. Lightning left, the owner of Tip.It Chat, thus she cannot add more mods to the Chat(unless the admins have done something?), and more mods are needed, and since Lightning has already pressed concern on who she chooses it just makes it even harder.

 

 

 

4. The large size of the forums, or users of Tip.It attracts spammers, and those who are insecure and want to be centered out for good or bad reasons, and so they find spamming that irritates the users. Its not because we're a fansite, and not a clan, thats totally wrong, its just the sheer size of Tip.It.

Was it mainly the spam wars?

Way too many people for me before, which was the reason why I'd go on the Ooc chat otherwise. Too much data for my weak brain.

It was Spammopolis in there... People were put off by the atmosphere that was set and left, either joining another chat or giving up on it altogether. Either that or it's just a downtime right now.

You also must realise that school has begun for several players, so many people have grabbed their books and headed off to the classrooms. The activity may pick up again once students get into the "groove" of things and schedules are situated. Until then, expect some decreased attendance.

i think that's the main reason. during the day now there's around 50-60k people online instead of 140k+ the spam factor and the novelty of clan chat wearing off probably have something to do with it too.

Sorry, I've been in World 66 Law company for a couple of days getting to 75/77 Runecrafting, and didn't want the chat to disturb trades.

 

 

 

I think alot of other people shy away from tipitchat because of the stupid lack of mods on half the time.. Someone really needs to get that account from Lightning and make some more people mods!

It's sad to see such a wonderful chat go. It was marked in the cards ever since Lightning left (who owned Tipitchat) and the spammers increasing in quantity. I guess we will just have to move on...

Heh, I stopped going there after a while. It was too spammy for me. I honestly didn't like some of the people who were there either.

Yes but spamming was worse during the Tipit,zybez,runehq,sals spam war.

Errm, spam war?

I Pop in whenever i'm on for 5 minutes or so...just don't know anyone in there, every time i go in, it's pretty much the group of TIFers i don't really know....

 

 

 

School also has a dramatic effect on it...and spam. It's unfortunate that that happened.

Tipit chat delines? It delcined within hours of its release, it was spammed to hell and back, which I think was the decline.

 

 

 

I honestly hope it dies, so they can think of a less obvious name, so only tifers can go, i mean "tipitchat" screams "spam me! spam me!"

Yeah, good point. I personally use some famous people's chats. Most of them are nice people.
