Runescape, as we know, has been a very successful game created by Jagex Ltd. They have satisfied thousands of users throughout the world, putting smiles onto peoples faces to entertain their trustworthy users who enjoy and play the game on a regular basis. Runecape has been an ever-growing game for many years now. Some people first played runescape when classic was popular, and still play now, because of their gratification throughout the years in which jagex offers towards you. Nevertheless, there are people who have only joined a couple of hours ago, having starting the experience of a ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬Ålife timeÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâÃ

I consider myself a veteran, despite never really having any high levels or characters or whatever.

 

 

 

I've been playing since 2001 or 2002, and have seen this game change completely.

 

 

 

Then again, if someone had completed this game and got 99 everything ina year, they would also be a veteran.

I don't like the words "old school", neither I think "veteran" is at it's place.

 

 

 

I'd rather say experienced. Experienced because you have played for a long time, and were a classic player, but as well experienced because you did all quests, try to play RuneScape on a broad way (try to do everything) or experienced as in being a good staker/pker.

Myself I don't consider myself as a veteran. I have been playing Rs for 2 years now, and I don't think that's time enough to be a true veteran. To be a veteran you should have been around since at least 3 years, and you should know pretty much everything about the game. Myself I know pretty much about the F2P part of RS, but very,very little about the P2P part.

For true veteran status I think you need a few marks on your belt.

If those factors apply, you are probably a veteran Runescape player. I don't think veteran status is affected by your attitude. I believe knowledge, first hand experience and dedication are the factors. However, if you have those, you are likely to have a good and kind personality in game.

Scares and plenty of them, Oh on RuneScape well then what was said above is a good start.

 

 

 

I wouldn't say you have to play classic to be a veteran, having a great knowledge of the game in all aspects, although veteran means old, I would say I was a veteran and I only started Easter 2005.

 

 

 

You can be a veteran of war even if you where only in say the Iraq war, but being a veteran don't mean your any better then anyone else.

In my eyes, wisdom cannot come quickly, it is developed over time. Nowadays we have players who have only been playing ~ a year, but keeping a torrid pace, have managed to do all quests, get 99 in several skills, etc.

 

 

 

Now of course those players deserve respect, but theres no replacement for being there since the game's first few months of inception, watching the gradual (now drastic) changes Runescape has gone through in the last 6+ years. Classic veterans (as long as they haven't gone on multi-year hiatus), deserve the utmost of respect.

I've been playing for about 4 years now and know a little bit about almost everything, I tried classic but since I started on RS2 classic just looked horrible to me. The first update that applied to me was cook all (f2p), and I have a yo-yo. Does this make me a veteran, who knows.

I would not say someone who has played the game for 6 Years deserves more respect then any other player, we all know of the crap classic when through, cheating and so on.

 

 

 

Just because someone played RuneScape classic don't make them special, even if your a better player then someone if that still don't make you a veteran then being a veteran is nothing special other then the fact you made an account 6 years ago.

ok on a more serious note, i think i am a veteran... i have been playing rs since 2001ish.. so well yeah everything u mentioned up there has been done.. well or u could just call me no life

-has been a member at least once (unless you want to be a f2p veteran which is what everyone would probably reach at combat 70 since theres nothing to do there)

Somone who has remained playing this game for a pro-longed period of time without damaging their name by bug abusing and always has been helpful and nice :)

RSC went to the downhill around the same time when Jagex started to build RS2 and then it just started to die slowly when it was released. If you haven't played it since at least from year 2003, you got no idea what the real RSC was. In my eyes RSC plays a pretty darn big role when we're talking about veterans.

I personally don't see how that has anything to do with being a veteran. There's just too many short and pointless quests which only show that you can read a walkthrough and got few hours of spare time to do something that really isn't a big deal.

QFT. RSC went downhill when Jagex joined Miniclip in 2003. Coincidentally, that was around the same time that Jagex became impersonal, and stopped frequently playing their own game. RSC from 2001-2002 was awesome. The community was mature, bots and scamming weren't a big issue, and the game still had the novelty to it.

I don't consider myself a RS veteran. I'm playing for 3 years now but I don't have any high lvl skills. BUT I know a lot about RS, I have read all the Knowledge base, all of the tip.it guides and done a lot of quests myself too. For example a friend of mine is clvl 103 and has 3 members accounts. He has around 150m gp but doesn't know what jangerberry or potato cactus is... I would consider myself with clvl 79 and 80k gp in my bank greater RS veteran than he is.

 

(Btw...I taught him play RS and in one month he had higher combat than I had :D)

IMO, a veteran would be someone whom:

 

ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãââ Played RSC, seeing bunny ears and scythes shows the long term players.

 

ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãââ Knowledge in all aspects of the game.

 

 

 

I'm not saying only long-term player can be veterans, of course, knowledge of the game does not come with combat levels.

I would say that a veteran is someone who has quite a bit of money, a 90-100+ combat level, and some decent skills.

 

Also, a veteran would be someone who enjoys the game, takes part in the community, and helps newbs and noobs alike.

I do agree with your comment about quests. They are so banal, its just constant backtracking, running pointless errands, ultimately culminating to killing some monster.

 

 

 

Problem is, to get into most of the areas of the game now, you need to complete these ridiculous tasks. I did Lunar Diplomacy last week...took me over 3 hours, was horribly boring. And oops, I need to do another quest to use any of the real useful Lunar spells....FTL

We're only discussing what makes a veteran, not if veterans are important to the game. some have been, others not.

 

 

 

But one thing is for sure true, and that is, that there are tons more veterans that have molded RS into what it is today, than new players that have started after the release of RS2.

 

Some "newer" players might take that as an insult, but its true nonetheless, and its not meant to insult anyone or put others in a higher position.
