If you searched for "runescape" on google tip.it used to be the second result, but now it is on the second page, behind zybez and a bunch of gold buying sites.

 

 

 

I believe it is because Zybez promotes runescape add-ons while tip.it doesn't.

Those sites may have payed to be higher on the results. Tip.it is the first thing that come up when you search tip though.

My guess would be because SwiftSwitch is hosted by it, and a lot of people use SS, so they get curious and go to zybez.

Wait, isn't it ranked on amount of searches or something wierd like that? As someone above mentioned, Zybez is where people go to get SS which many, many people use so that could result in a much larger amount of people searching for it. :wink:

It is because of the Price guide they have their. They get a lot of visitors just for that.

 

 

 

Also they get TONS of requests from IRC scripts using their futures etc.

 

 

 

Many people link to the price guide so they get boosted google ranks for being a "linked to hub".

 

 

 

It adds up and they pass tip.it.

Because people are trying to manipulate the page rank, by buying their way up. Making a bunch of sites with only a link to you site used to be one of the possibilities. However Google found a pretty good way to stop that specific manipulating, so it's much more sophisticated now. I don't know how it's done nowadays.

my guess is because either they pay something to be first, or they are first because tons of people use zybez price guide multiple times a day.

Both zybez and tip.it are very good sites. I like the calculators and guides on tip.it more than on zybez. However, the price guide on zybez is very good and I also use that a lot.

Yea, I was thinking about some kind of manipulation already. But I have to admit, that's a pretty good move of Zybez.

 

 

 

EDIT: Google seemed messed up with Runescape results to me at all. I hardly got any gold selling sites (maybe it's place bound), but I did got this on the first page -.-. Note, it's about someone asking on how to "hack" runescape. *Sigh*

 

 

 

Another EDIT: I also found this article. The first thing has already been posted on this forum, but I was pretty surprised by the last paragraph. I was wondering what the username could be? (Note; it states a boy hanged himself after he thought he was hacked a few years back, his account was in the top 10.)

i think zybez is used more frequently cause of the price check, calcs and yeah...

Tipit is 2nd search for me behind runescape.com when I look up runescape on google.

You can't pay to be higher up on Google's ranks. However, you can advertise (on the top or bottom).
