On topic; This update is long over-due. Many players have fallen subject to scams and been unable to report them because their name consists of both O's and 0's

 

If you actually read the topic, you know it's about the slashed 0 in inventory/hits etc.

 

 

 

And, the 0 s in names got slashed years ago...

 

Was there any reason to change the other numerical value 0's? NO! That was possibly the most pointless update ever to tell the truth.

 

 

 

It has looked the same way for like 5 years? Why change it?

 

Jagex mise well just fill in the rest of the zero -.- Now all of my even stats look demented.

 

 

 

We carp and carp about how this update makes something look ugly when there's no real point to it. Give it a a few more days and you'll be used to it; give it 2 weeks and you won't care anymore.

 

 

 

Is there any reason to complain about how a zero looks instead of going about your business? No.

 

 

 

Besides, if you can't accept a little change, perhaps you shouldn't be playing, considering how often this game changes.

they look dumb but i think they serve thier perpose so its fine.

 

 

 

the 0s with lines on are now on what you get hit and on your stats which looks stupid (might just be and imediate thing) and they stop confusing? you only get hit numbers and skills only have numbers for skills so i think it is uneccesary

Looks fine to me, but I sense Jagex has just caused what the are trying to avoid...

 

Anyone else think that this may give birth to a new scam - switching an 8 for a 0 in the trade screen...I'am sure that Jagex changed this for the more "stupid" players, but in the end it will be the "stupid" players that loose out. The irony.

The ones in the names have been that way since then, but the ones in the stats page, damage splashes and inventory/bank have now been changed to match.

It really is not that much of a trouble to change a zero for Jagex. I believe you have wasted your time complaining about how Jagex wasted their time. Just adapt with it. :roll:

You seem to be making use of the Copy/Paste function, as you've posted the same the same thing on about 4 different posts.

I could understand maybe if they made the zero look like a giant pink fluffy glowing doughnut with advertisements flashing around the sides of it for Nike Rune Jordans...HELL YEAH now see that might go somewhere.

 

 

 

It's a number, the number zero has appeared like that for ages. I swear if Jagex changed the login screen so that the input text box for the username was shifted over by 5 pixels to the left of where it normally would be, someone would be fighting to log into their forum of choice to say how completely ugly or wrong it looks.

 

 

 

They don't have an emoticon for how hard I am laughing at reading that people actually care so much over a zero. Looks just as good to me...I can still make out that it's a zero just like I always have been. It doesn't interfere with anything at all. Not like it's strange to look at I see zeros that look like that daily elsewhere...

Actually, I think a big part was telling you this was a stupid weak rant, and some were telling you it looks fine.

This is kind of a silly rant, but it does somewhat bug me...oh well, at least I didn't come here to contribute to the FIRE...they need an emote for that :P

Everyone keeps (wrongly) bringing up scammers names and other inane reasons for this update, but has anyone stopped to think that maybe all Jagex did was delete the old alphanumeric table that had un-dashed 0's?

 

What I mean is, maybe they had two seperate alphabet sets, one for account names/chat and one for everything else. If that's true, then this update most likely is the result of them putting all on-screen text on the same alphabet set to delete the old one.

 

Just a thought.

Actually, some state that on higher resolutions, 0 looks like an 8. But if it' s a blue splash, it' s not an 8 moron...

tbh.. for me it doesn't really effect the game. It's useful for clan chat because O and 0 used to be exactly the same and got confusing sometimes. (Twin pures )
