i use it when i am in the mood for chatting whilst playing. but i prefer mirc simply cuz i don't need to be logged into a game and be there 24/7 to chat (and not get logged out) e.g: i can make food and do other rl stuff quite easily whilst still spamming jem with slaps, and sliming everyone. :anxious: :-w

the sig is old. the clan chat isnt called tipit anymore. it's lightning. to get there type lightning. and the chat uses hyt as a title. i think this thread is stupid AND offensive. way to try to sabotage runescape's addition of clan chat and lightning's attempt to make a good clan chat ingame. she probably wouldnt say it but i think it is totally rude backstabbing and backbiting and 100% childish adult behavior.

 

 

 

a lot of people have said they prefer! the ingame chat spam or not; yeah that's what the ignore feature is for and respect that instead of trying to characterize the ingame chat in a negative way. dont like it there? dont go there! ingame chat with mods, and sad, very sad, to see some of the chat mods here dissing clan chat. you shouldnt be modded there if you ask me. the ingame clan chat is a success with a few bumps. why try to sabotage it? god no wonder with all the politics and backstabbing going on at tipit; who wouldnt want to consider leaving tipit. The clan chat isn't liked by many IRC users because it's simply a cheap copy that wasn't implemented very well. It's doubling up a system (the irc server) that has already been in place for quite some time now. There's no way for multiple people to control a room, there's no way to permanently ban people from a room effectively because they're free to make as many new accounts as they want. The ban list is limited to the size of the ignore list. It's ultimately controlled by Jagex which means 0 flexibility. There's no flood controls to automatically deal with spamming idiots. You can go on and on.

 

 

 

On top of all that the clan chat room you are arguing for was never really discussed before being set up, which resulted in what you see. It was thrown together the day of release leaving huge unknowns, like who will mod it, how do we control it, what timezones are covered ect. Many of the staff here don't even play RS anymore, which makes it that much harder to mod a chat that requires you log into RS. It's a massive waste of time to keep the game active just to keep an eye on a few kids that think it's an awesome system.

 

 

 

Instead of telling IRC staff that they're backstabbing people because they've made an informed decision, how about you actually come use the IRC room and its features compared to the clan chat before you go telling us we're flat our wrong to be voicing an opinion. Accusing us of 'still clinging to that kick button in another chat' is still more wasted text. The IRC server is THE official chat of Tip.It, so there's good reason to be clinging to that button.

Funny, ive never seen you in IRC chat. How about this, did you know Lightning CREATED the mirc channel #runescape you all. Did you know, mirc was there YEARS before clan chat was installed into runescape. Did you know, clan chat is a HORRIBLE thing because of the immaturity and people in the runescape community. Dont speak for lightning unless you know what youre talking about. She loved #runescape the irc channel. I can speak for her in saying she loved all of us in there like we were her children. Preferences smcheferences, irc is 10x better than clan chat, atleast you dont have to type a / infront of everything in irc. Atleast you can ignore EVERYONE on irc, in rs your limited to a certain amount of people. Irc you can customize to fit YOUR needs and wants, can Runescape do that? Nope. Nobody said you had to visit. Irc is good enjoyable fun for everyone, no need to be all uppity and full of yourself to have fun in #runescape. The behaviour of the mods is nothing, when things get serious they deal with it, when things get out of hand they control the room, nobody is that bad in irc rofl. Everyones just having a good time. Takes the pressure off of some people with ingame goals and what not and provides a friendlt atmosphere.

One of the BETTER things about irc, if i wanted to fold my laundry theres other mods to back me up, if i wanted to throw my soup in the microwave i can just ask someone to take over the room. If i were a CHAT MOD IN RUNESCAPE, i couldnt because id have to find a spot to log out, tell people im logging out and theyre on their own, log out, go do whatever, log back in, its just a hassle, with irc all i have to do is say, im going afk, Peter or Sluggy take over the room. That's not being lazy thats having other people back you up and help you.

Ok this is where youve ticked me off, you dont insult grown people almost twice your age and get away with it. Sluggy and Fudgy are old responsible adults. Mil is mature enough to know when to be wise and not joke around. See, you dont insult people unless you know these people well enough to do it. How would you like it if we told you you were a stuck up little know it all who wanted to be modded in clan chat because he think he owns the whole thing? Youll never get modded, modship is handed out at Light's discrepency and i guarentee you someone like you will NEVER be modded.

Considering the tip.it IRC was in existence while clan chat was still a twinkle in Andrew's eye, any support of an UNOFFICIAL chat under your irrational definition of sabotage is an attempt to undermine Tip.it IRC.

 

 

 

Not to mention the fact that Lightning created the Tip.it IRC and had been quite a frequent visitor up until her leaving.

 

 

 

You say that supporters have been spending their time dissing clan chat, when it was you who first came in spewing fire and brimstone about how we were trying to kill the clan chat, when Fudgy's post was instead a reminder of how a long-standing chat that people don't always remember is around.

 

 

 

Where on earth does your mini-rant about us having responsibility come from? You seem to have trouble grasping how clan chat modding and IRC modding works. I have mod powers in IRC and zero clan chat powers, along with most of the operators in IRC, which means we couldn't "mod the ingame chat" even if we wanted to.

 

 

 

Plus, saying you "stand by what you say" has zero answer to Cruiser's statement that many IRC mods don't even play Runescape, which sort of kills your contention that we're a bunch of lazy sleazebags that aren't doing their mod jobs.
