November 20, 200718 yr IMHO, the way the ignore list works is 'mean'. For example, a while ago, I helped to random noob find the wildy and he added me. He kept pesturing me but he seemed a bit like one of the infamous 'immature 10 yr olds' so after a day or so of chatting, I decided to add him to my ignore list. A week or so later, he added me on another account and messaged me saying he was upset that I never spoke to him and never replied to his messages. This made me realise that adding someone to ignore allows them to continually message you without getting a response thus wasting their time and making them think you were a bit of a nasty person. Sure, you could say, why didn't you just turn Private Chat to friends, but I don't like to do that and there are many people who would agree. Jagex should make it so that it just shows you as offline to the guy you put on your ignore list, otherwise it's not very nice to the little 'uns, is it now? Discuss. Please don't flame and say things like, 'Z0mg! 1t's cooled ignoore leest, what did yoo esxcpect?' -.-
November 20, 200718 yr Ive never know what it is like to be on someones' ignore list because i dont know what happens. Does the person just appear offline? Or like you said silo, can you just keep messaging them? Good topic to raise and i think jagex should make it clear what actually happens. November 20, 200718 yr I'm pretty sure it dosen't work that way :-s I thought they saw you as being offline? Like it shows you when you have your private to friends or off?
November 20, 200718 yr Author I'm pretty sure it dosen't work that way :-s I thought they saw you as being offline? Like it shows you when you have your private to friends or off? From what the kid said, it shows you as online* and lets them message u like fools.

November 20, 200718 yr I'm not one of those people who can get bothered about stuff written over the internet, no matter how compulsive or immature, so I've never used the ignore list.

Please don't flame and say things like, 'Z0mg! 1t's cooled ignoore leest, what did yoo esxcpect?' -.- In my opinion, no it is not mean. You cannot define something that was put into a game for a perfectly good reason with its intentions as being mean. If you find a person is pestering/harassing/annoying you, you can ignore them. That isn't being mean, it's making use of the ignore list and putting those names on there for a reason. So what if the guy pms you back on another account saying he's hurt and that was mean? You did it because he either pestered/annoyed/harassed you, thus making use of the ignore list so you don't have to be continually annoyed/harassed/pestered by that particular person. RIP RU_Insane. November 20, 200718 yr Showing it as offline forever would be awesome. I told some kids in real life I quit Rs. I just took them off friends list and keep it on "friends" When I buy something off forums, I turn chat to off, re add the kids in real life, and if they aren't on, I turn it to on and buy. Confusing and stupid, I know.

November 20, 200718 yr I totally agree with you. If I add someone to my ignore list, I want to appear OFFLINE to them. It's less awkward that should you bump into them again or eventually remove them from your list.
November 20, 200718 yr If you are on someones ignore list, you appear online, yet, you wont see their messages. I dont like this. Id rather have the ability to "block" someone like you can on messengers. 99 Crafting :: 39,750th || 99 Attack :: 1,775th
November 20, 200718 yr I found this out a long time ago. I removed everyone from my ignore list. I dont want people saying stuff to me without beeing able to see it
November 20, 200718 yr I just ignore random people. Private on Off ftw! I am Teh_King[My dA][My Last.FM][My Twitter]
November 20, 200718 yr I only put people on ignore when i'm in an area and the same person floods the chat screen with the same thing over and over again.... then they obviously get taken off at a later stage. I don't really like the whole friends list set up on RS anyway to be honest. I don't like the fact that people can add you without their permission. I'd like to see a facility where you have to approve people or something.
November 20, 200718 yr I found this out a long time ago. I removed everyone from my ignore list. I dont want people saying stuff to me without beeing able to see it ... Are you people talking about 'face to face' chat? Over private chat people can't message you if you have them ignored...
November 20, 200718 yr What the heck man, if someone annoys you you ignore him. Being social is 1 thing but being a [developmentally delayed]ed is taking it it a whole new level. Retired 2146 overall - 136 combat - 6 skillcapes Plus I think the whole teenage girl thing will end soon (hopefully), because my girlfriend is absolutely in love with him(she is 18), and im beginning to feel threatened by his [Justin Bieber] dashing looks.
November 20, 200718 yr Not really. I usually only left people on it for a week or so, just so they'd forget. Oh well, it's a prt of the game. The code in my sig should say 1032 not 0132.
November 21, 200718 yr I personally use the ignore list to keep track of certain things, like my KQ kill count. Only used it once, and that was way in the beginning on my RS career. 99 Fletching 99 Attack 99 Constitution 99 Cooking 99 StrengthGamertag: H8tebringer

November 21, 200718 yr Its not mean -.-, i have over 50 people on mine....Just turn your private chat on friends :XD: Coming Soon
December 1, 200718 yr Author Fail. Please post something constructive next time. @ Smapla: Yes they can, but you don't recieve it unless your private chat is on friends, which makes them seem like an idiot. And not everyone wants their private on friends; for example, today a friend from my school pmed me, I didn't know his user, so if it had been on 'friends' I'd never have found out his rs username without asking. And to mEb: I don't aprecciate being called '[developmentally delayed]' just because you obviously, unlike me, are a selfish git without feelings for other people. Kthxbai owned.
