November 24, 200718 yr With all of the little "riots" and rants about the newly established staking limit, do you think Jagex will give in to the pressure and remove the staking limit? Seminiferous Tubule.

November 24, 200718 yr I think that they will. But they'll probably only raise it to like 20k. Ah, this reminds me about the noob on the Runescape forums who was upset with the quest "Cold War" because apparently his grandparents died in the war. :wall:
November 24, 200718 yr I hope so, and if they do they should do so only people within 10 Combat levels of each other can stake, this would solve the real world item trader problem. To be honest, I can't see why they wouldn't do that #-o [insert birds flying in a circle here]Yes, that sig was annoying.

To be honest, I can't see why they wouldn't do that #-o Because some lvl 70 pure that has 99 mage and range can beat a lvl 112 for example... There are pures that have crazy good stats at pretty low combat levels... just look at some staking galleries... plenty of 51's beating 120's... I don't see a sensable reason for them to repeal this.. Yes, it is crazy. No, i'm not affected by this. But what'll the say if/when they repeal...? "We have noticed all you rioting, and we respect your opinions" ??? Then for every major update, there will be more and more rioting... I don't see an honorable way to get rid of this extreme 15k limit... No matter how crazy it is... I say, it's done, it's in the books for good... November 24, 200718 yr Author I hope so, and if they do they should do so only people within 10 Combat levels of each other can stake That would still enrage pures though. Seminiferous Tubule.
November 24, 200718 yr Perhaps. But if they do repeal it, it will be because of the few people who actually contributed some sensible arguments and reasonable alternatives, NOT because of the [developmentally delayed]ed rioters.

November 24, 200718 yr the best solution seems to be making it so you can only stake within 10% difference of your opponents stake. Example: player 1 stakes 10k. player 2 must stake 9-11k. That would prevent people from transferring gold, while keeping stakers happy.
November 24, 200718 yr They might do IMO, as they did do a bit of fiddling around with the cash for the barralchest anchor, so for anyone who says they never change anything, well they do. I personaly agree with 100k, even if RWTraders do use staking, then staking 100k 10 times (for 1 mil) and losing straight away will look rather odd.

Of course, the RWT'er would be a level 3 so that the GP Buyer doesn't worry that the RWT'er will win the duel and make 1m. "We will certainly not be gaining money or members with this update. Instead, we are doing this for the good of the game, which is as dear to our hearts as it is to you."- JAGEX, December 13, 2007

This, and if you argue that the Person buying the gold probably has no money. Even if they have as little as 2k gp, they'd be up to 1,024,000gp in 10 duels. From that point it's quickly doubled to the amount needed.

But if they do repeal it, it will be because of the few people who actually contributed some sensible arguments and reasonable alternatives, NOT because of the [developmentally delayed] rioters. This, I believe, is an excellent response. Trouble is, what are the reasonable alternatives? It seems that once you allow staking, you allow people to abuse the system. 76th to reach 99 Construction on 6th of February 2007379th to reach 99 Runecrafting on 4th of November 2007 Finally the secrets of goal achieving are revealed! November 24, 200718 yr If they did appeal the limit, then all that talk about stopping Real World Traders was for nothing.
