Yes they may have done a good job riding Runescape of RWT and Botting, but they did ruin a lot of aspects that made Runescape what it was.

You do realize that these updates did nothing to stop autoers... All it stops them doing is selling there gold irl for money. People will still auto like they always have but now they will either do it just to be rich in the game or just sell accts irl instead of there gold. In my opinion there is still too many loopholes around it and more then monster hunting got killed in the update. Drop parties are gone, loaning items to friends, and really almost any team based aspect of the game. 0/10

I'm not venting anger... hell I'm not even angry anymore, I've accepted that these updates are going to happen and that I will have to adjust. All my post above does is state why the updates do not actually get rid of autoers and other aspects of the game that are greatly affected by the changes that were not discussed in the OP post. I have the right to give my opinion just as much as you and I'm sorry that my points actually have validity and quash most of the positive aspects of the updates pepople have stated...

I am very happy about all the updates they have made in the past few months. I hated pures because they are not what real accounts should be ( i know i will get flammed.) I didn't like how people could make so much money by just gambling. I hated how autoers ruined the game.

You my friend are going into extreme zone. Me and you both know that pures were not the way Jagex intended players accounts to be. Getting a high lvl in woodcutting was. Thats part of the reason i didn't like the duel arena because it was filled with pures. Another thing is that a large percent of those pures would transfer the money they won from stakes to their main account. Which is against the rules.

1. Player to Player trading is better! Less scamming and better price control.

 

2. The wilderness is more exciting with new monsters and minigames.

I love the new update! Not a single autoer at the yews behind varroc palace! Also the new wildy capes for f2p make things so much easier. I believe this is one of the best updates for f2p that we've ever had. :D

Very true. The existence of pures in combat means that Jagex messed up when they wrote the combat level formula. They inadvertently created a system where the combat skills had different weightings of importance while the overall combat level failed to take it into account.

 

 

 

Now, while it's very admirable that players have taken the time and trouble to analyze the combat system and design their characters carefully to get the maximum benefit out of it, it still hinges on RuneScape having a dodgy combat level formula.

 

 

 

Jagex has shown no signs of making any further changes to the formula since the release of Rs2 in 2004, so perhaps it's something they're happy to leave alone. However, if an update comes through that reduces the benefit of a pure account, that's... well, that's fair enough. It's horribly annoying for the people who created the pures, but they'd have known - hopefully - that they'd tailored their accounts to match the flaws in Jagex's design, and there was no reason to assume that Jagex would never try to improve the design. There will be new flaws in the game that can be used in a similar way, and clever players - who most deserve the benefits - will find them and hopefully reap the rewards.

Took me 5 minutes of vanguards BREATH taking graphics to realise I am being upset over nothing. Granted, I will never find another game that will be as intresting as runescape when it comes to skilling / merchanting to support that skilling, but what can you do?

Want to make a lot of money over the next month? Buy yourself 500k raw lobs or yew logs; you can expect them to at least double in price without bots feeding the demand. Another good option would be to invest in iron ore, coal, etc (pretty much any resource previously acquired by bots).

No level 3 linghaoxiang's...it was incredible...

 

Just me and my axe, and the yew tree.

 

It was relieving.

 

No stump every 2 seconds, waiting for respawns, just cut down a tree, move to the next...

 

 

 

 

Never pk'd much, so it doesn't affect me, and once again, i'm f2p for now...so i have no problem what-so-ever with this update...i say way to go Jagex. I know they did something they didn't want to do, but they'll tweak it so all the people ('cept the RWT's get something out of it).

 

I know f2p got theirs (no autoers/goldfarmers)

i understand where you are coming from...

 

but honestly...

 

Who would buy an account level 3, 99 woodcutting, with the name (as i said above in previous post) "linghaoxiang" (not being discriminative), with that having the risk of being banned for autoing, with you paying x amount of $ for it...

 

Also, i know, legit players can sell their accounts also, but JaGex tracks the IP's...

Staking is not revolved around pures. I am not a pure and I was a successful staker. I was 90 defence 96 hp and 99 magic at 115 combat, in no way is that a pure. So from what you just said you should be jelous of me if your logic stands up.

wow i never thought i would say this. but the people who like the update are even more annoying than the ranters. Either its you guys cant accept that jagex made a mistake(you may not feel this way) or you cant accept that other people played the game differently than you and this really kills them

 

 

 

edit: i mostly feel bad for misplacedme and tip.it crew. they got soooo much work ahead of them. they have to change nearly every single aspect of their site. literally every single aspect.

Remember there is more to runescape than pvp, go and try something else and i'm sure you'll enjoy it just as much.

try buy your dbones lower 1gp lower than 1gp you could only buy 3k per 15 mins so bulk selling is affected skilling is afected (pkers bought the majority of skill produce dont even argue its very obvious)

To me, this update is amazing. It rids of all RWT 100%. Pkers still have a place to PK without RWT. New Clan Wars sounds alot of fun. I couldn't asked for a better update. Discuss how you like this update.

- Less scamming you say? First Jagex made the trade modifier (!) so you had to be a complete idiot to accept a scam trade. Now it's impossible to make money from trading. (I don't merchant - but I feel sorry for them)

 

 

 

- The "wildy" is by far not more exciting. The Bounty Hunter is full of either 1-itemers or clans who just pile you. Frankly, impossible to kill a person by yourself.

 

 

 

- The bots: why do people think bots are dead? They are still there. There is a difference between bots and real world traders. Now, instead of selling the items only, they will just sell the items + a character.

Since your account does not abuse the combat triangle, and you have made a lot of money that way, then yes i wish i could have achieved that high quantity of money the way you did. As i stated above that is because you did it the way it was supposed to be done. And you have to agree with me that a large part of the staking community were pures.

It's a good update, but the only people who really will like it are fair playing f2pers like myself.

 

I guess members have a right to complain as they 'lost' the duel arena, and nature rune crafting until a solution is figured out, but the lives of all f2pers have improved thanks to this update.
