December 13, 200718 yr Isn't summoning supposed to be based off of hunting? Yeech. I'm putting my money on it being yet another flop, like farming. This entire damage-control stuff they're feeding us is really, really starting to wear on me. Sorry, but it is. Excuse me, farming is one of my favourite skills. Its the only skill that is totally different. You gain xp while being offline. You obviously never seriously tried it. (Yes I know, in the beginning the skill seems quite overwhelming, but with a little bit of brains, you will be able to get used to it, and use it to your advantage. You are obviously lacking that minimal amount of brain cells). If you would have said hunter was a flop, i could at least agree a bit. Hunter is pretty much the same all over. No real use. (okay, chins, but thats about it). Whereas farming provides the herborist to actually make money and get his own herbs. A Guide to Chinning in Ape atoll: up to 325kxp/h!
December 13, 200718 yr On a better note something to think about. In one of the last updates to summoning a picture was put in with the eggs everyone is collecting. Then todays wallpaper. Notice something very similar with these 2 things? notice the color of eggs and creatures. Then the amount of both. [hide=Second Summoning wallpaper][/hide] Wow, with all the big changes recently, finding out what will come out of those mysterious little coloured eggs feels like an anti-climax.. :| Too bad the concept art for this game looks better as concept art. :( Excuse me, farming is one of my favourite skills. Its the only skill that is totally different. You gain xp while being offline. You obviously never seriously tried it. (Yes I know, in the beginning the skill seems quite overwhelming, but with a little bit of brains, you will be able to get used to it, and use it to your advantage. Having crops growing all over the world of Runescape. You get to train two skills at once. Farming is really a fun and easy skill if you know how to use it right.
December 13, 200718 yr People, give them a break and stop whining. They made the best choice possible in the circumstances. They're a company. If they're losing money they fix it. You should be glad that they actually replaced pking with something that's even kind of the same. If a new player came to RS right now they'd probably think Bounty Hunter was pretty cool. The only reason you people are angry is because it's different, not any worse. I think it's good that they addressed this because just ignoring it would've been pretty dumb. It's also good that they've promised to try and improve the updates and add more to them in months to come.

December 13, 200718 yr Ok so that pretty much restores my faith, the fact that jagex have admitted that its incredibly inconveniant shows that it has incredibly infected the runescape community.Have jagex ever acknowledged that theyve messed up. Looks like the jagex staff wont be having too much of a break over christmas :-w :P
December 13, 200718 yr Ok so that pretty much restores my faith, the fact that jagex have admitted that its incredibly inconveniant shows that it has incredibly infected the runescape community.Have jagex ever acknowledged that theyve messed up. Looks like the jagex staff wont be having too much of a break over christmas :-w :P Where exactly did they say they screwed up? I got the exact oppisite from the post. They put words in our mouth saying how much the RTW'RS and bots effected us, when I have not once been effected by them. They tell us that they are going to take good ideas and come up with ones of their own to tweak their updates. But there really isnt any tweaking you can do for what they did. They are going to keep adding dangerous mini games...? Yeah because bounty hunter was a huge success right..? There is no way to bring back actual pking as we knew it with these lame updates, there is no way to bring back stake dueling where players that are good at it can actually make money. It just isnt possible, and I guess jagex doesnt realize that. What are they going to do add a bunch of [wagon] mini games that no one likes and then tell us the game is back to normal? cmon...
December 13, 200718 yr Eh, if they really follow through with serious improvements, I might renew my membership.. There is no meaning or truth in life but that which we create for ourselves.
December 13, 200718 yr More lies to try to stall the rate at which people are quitting it seems. Im glad they are losing money to be honest, maybe then they will realise how stupid these changes truely were. With posts like this, all they do is add insult to injury. Personally, im glad that due to their decrease in income half of these brain dead mods will be fired. For me, no other game will be as good as runescape was because of the amaizing skill system in runescape. Fun, flexibile, exciting. In order to support those skills players would find ways of making $ like staking, pking, merchanting. Look what they do? They destroy all ways of making $ and keep lying their way out of what they have done. There was numerous ways to implement this properly, but they delibarately did waht they did. They do "fair trades", but couldnt do "fair stakes" when GE came out? Give me a break, they are delibarately forcing people to quit. I agree with you, but it was either a year of wild, staking.and merchanting for you. Or no more runescape forever. (I think I'll stick with keeping rs) Don't you know the first rule of MMO's? Anyone higher level than you has no life, and anyone lower than you is a noob. People in OT eat glass when they are bored.
December 14, 200718 yr If you look at the wallpaper - the monster is available in the colours red, blue, green. ;) Fun, flexibile, exciting. In order to support those skills players would find ways of making $ like staking, pking, merchanting. Look what they do? They destroy all ways of making $ and keep lying their way out of what they have done. Skillful merchants are making millions off the Grand Exchange, like I predicted beforehand. Of course, you wouldn't know. that made me peter griffen laugh that wallpaper is the use of our eggs. i seriously hope so. that looks like 1 of the bird things kind of... but its a cockatrice. i hope if they are all cockatrice's they are not as weak as the normal 1's or infact are just different birds all together
December 14, 200718 yr Isn't summoning supposed to be based off of hunting? Yeech. I'm putting my money on it being yet another flop, like farming. This entire damage-control stuff they're feeding us is really, really starting to wear on me. Sorry, but it is. Who said farming was a flop? its a very useful and profitable skill. Just because you dislike it it doesn't mean everyone hates it. Watch your generalizations please. Personally, I enjoy all the updates. I'm not a pker, so the wildy changes dont affect me much to begin with. Now autoers have absolutely no point in existing. People who auto in things like green dragons or wildy rune rocks will now have a lot to deal with! Course, I think that if they could make fair trading, they should also make fair staking too to get the stakers to return. Of course, one J mod once said that the changes were to stop people from being "cleaned" quickly. the real world trading was a bonus. I own a low level free player mage. He's under lvl 30 and has 42 mage. I never drop trade, I keep my accounts seperate. this means that money is always an issue for me. Its virtually impossible to save money on my noob. Whenever I pk 20k worth, i always need that 20k to replace the things I used. this is especially difficult on a mage which is by far the most expensive though the strongest. What I find difficult is the amount of drop traders. to me, earning about 50k would be a dream, but of course I'd spend a lot of it immediatly to keep a nice supply of all my items. Some of my best pk buddies have giant supplies of runes simply because they took a few hundred k from their main. If they die on their noob, it doesn't matter, they have plenty in stock. If I die, it means having to loot for a few hours to get some money back. The drop traders were a serious problem and I'm glad its getting fixed. [hide=]tip it would pay me $500.00 to keep my clothes ON :( :lol:But then again, you fail to realize that 101% of the people in this universe hate you. Yes, humankind's hatred against you goes beyond mathematical possibilities. That tears it. I'm starting an animal rebellion using my mind powers. Those PETA bastards will never see it coming until the porcupines are half way up their asses.[/hide]Apparently a lot of people say it. I own. http://linkagg.com/ Not my site, but a simple, budding site that links often unheard-of websites that are amazing for usefulness and fun.
December 14, 200718 yr If Jagex really cared about what the players wanted, then they would get rid of the last few weeks worth of updates. Of course, regardless of what they might say, it's readily apparent that they don't care what the majority of its players think of any given update, as once they've decided to do something they'll keep said update around no matter how horrible it might be.
December 14, 200718 yr Idk about the rest of you, but these RWTers and Scammers they are talking about, never really affected me. They say they are helping the players, but they are trying to help themselves and killing the game, that once shined bright, in the process My WoW character, gnome warlock Saldomar

(okay, chins, but thats about it). Whereas farming provides the herborist to actually make money and get his own herbs. To this guy (and the other 4 or whatever that insulted my "indifference" towards farming); Stuff it. Sure, some people like farming. Some people like Trouble Brewing. Some people like Barbarian Assault. That doesn't mean TB or the BA were the best things that ever happened to RS. Farming was cracked up to be something big, and it didn't deliver. Yes, I know, it's decent for herblore (believe it or not, I have used it before to support my own herbloring.) I do know the basics of the skill, and mine probably beats most people's here, even at my second lowest skill or whatever. Just think of all the hype farming got, and look at it now? Least popular skill out there, or close to it. People are thinking of summoning like it's going to be this great big super update, and odds are, it's not going to be. Take my words for it, after it gets released, it'll die down to another boring, generic part of this rapidly deteriorating game.
December 15, 200718 yr If Jagex really cared about what the players wanted, then they would get rid of the last few weeks worth of updates.strange you seem to think that everyone hate the recent updates. if jaged cared about the ppl who hate the updates and remove them what about the players that realy liked the recent updates ? wont they be screwed ?
December 16, 200718 yr Jagex responds to all the critic here, and they do it quite well, I think! Also, the new wallpaper looks really good. That's a very cool looking snake-bird they have got there! I can't wait for summoning to come out :D Add me if you so wish: SwreeTak
December 16, 200718 yr I am a firm believer that the wilderness as we known it in the past can be returned without letting goldfarmers take advantage of it. I am also a firm believer that Jagex was aware that its removal rather than modification was not only entirely unnecessary but preferred by people who were sick of being rc and mine pked because they wanted an easy way to make money and didn't think that the price they paid for it was great danger at the hands of RuneScape's biggest losers. Yes, they were jerks, but they exist for a reason. I'm sorry I ever whined about PKers as a runite miner (except for miners who PK other miners; they can go to hell), and I wish that they can make a glorious return and bring excitement back to a now-dull and overcrowded favorite area of RuneScape for me. Still enjoying RuneScape?
December 16, 200718 yr Well in the longterm jagex is saving rs and who cares if 10,000+ jerks quit? It would really better the community :D And begging is kinda dead as of january..
