December 29, 200718 yr This is kind of due to the other post about runescape being from another country. Then I thought about characters that are in the game that are obviously based on real people The Council worker on the route to rellekka is obviously based on council workers all over Britain. O'brien Richard in burthorpe bank. upon examine it says "head of the maze" Obviously based on Richard O'brian host of a show called "the Crystal Maze" on UK TV in the 90's. Also of Rocky Horror picture show fame. Jeremy Clerksin / possibly based on jeremy clarkson? in varrock church definately looks like him lol. Martin Thwait when you examine him it says "loveable rogue" possibly based on a policeman "martin Thwaite" who wrote a book on how to avoid driving penalties, speeding tickets, evade the police etc.. possibly? The only definate on my list is O'brien Richard off the top of my head. But I'm sure I've seen more over time. Has anyone found Osama Bin Laden Hiding in the mountains? Or maybe there's a dwarf somewhere in the mines called Tom Cruise? There must be some more characters based on real people somewhere. Please no one say Romeo and Juilet Edit: thought of another Bouqet Mac Hyacinth. Lunar Isle Examine info.. Should I pronounce it Bucket? Based on Hyacinth Bucket a Character on Keeping up appearences, UK TV. always told everyone her name bucket was pronounced "bouquet" Co-Founder of KoA over 18's clan. Founded 2002. December 29, 200718 yr It is pretty cool how Jagex uses ideas from the real world in their game. The following quote is not a reference to a real life person, but rather a movie. This is not the mightiest tree in the forest. (Not verbatim) This is from Monty Python and can be found in rs by using a (herring?) on any tree. There are many more of these references in the game (well, others that I can't think of right now).
December 29, 200718 yr Asgarian Smith the guy from desert treasure who is like a historian treasure hunter Based on Indiana Jones. Why? Indiana = american region (state) Asagria = runescape region Smith & Jones = common british surname Operation Gold Sparkles :: Chompy Kills :: Full Profound :: Champions :: Barbarian Notes :: Champions Tackle Box :: MA RewardsDragonkin Journals :: Ports Stories :: Elder Chronicles :: Boss Slayer :: Penance King :: Kal'gerion Titles :: Gold Statue

That's a great one. I shall definately be keeping an eye out for dead parrrots and the messiah brian. I'd have never have guessed Indiana Jones, but it makes perfect sense. Well, the herring with the tree isn't something you would just do. I think it was part of a quest and word just got around to the people who didn't do that quest. I heard it for the first time here on tip.it :) And yeah, the Indiana Jones thing... I don't know if Jagex did it on purpose or if you over analyzed it, but cool find nonetheless. I would never have been able to come up with that.

December 30, 200718 yr You got some ones I didn't know about there. But yes they add that little extra to the game and I love it.
December 30, 200718 yr Well the guards from the towers of Neitiznot and Jatizso repeatedly yell at eachother and taunt eachother. one of their taunts is "your mother was a hampster and your father smelled of elderberries!" based on monty python... The white knights of fally aren't based on real people to my knowledge but do have interesting names. Sir Toffy Cashien= certification. Sir Prysin= surprisin'. Sir Amik Varze= ceramic vase... [hide=]tip it would pay me $500.00 to keep my clothes ON :( :lol:But then again, you fail to realize that 101% of the people in this universe hate you. Yes, humankind's hatred against you goes beyond mathematical possibilities. That tears it. I'm starting an animal rebellion using my mind powers.
