Ranging waterfiends is viable. There are a few safespots. They have a fair defense, but with 85 range I seem to do fine.

Waterfiends have 128 hp

Black demons have 157

Black demons have lower defense, however waterfiends drop charms a bit more often (I went to black demons in chaos tunnels, and waterfiends in ancient cavern.)

Waterfiends, although they use ranged and magic, only have a range of 4 squares. As long as you have a longer range, you can trap them on something and range from 5+ squares away. (Rapid on a rune crossbow works.) Now, this is great, but they're aggresive. So you have to bring some food and a prayer potion to last the aggresive period (as it's impossible to safespot while they're aggresive.)

I only provided one picture but there are a few.

Hopefully this helps your guide with an alternative for rangers.

Although you say that you shouldn't specifically hunt for blue charms, Tormented Wraiths are a very good source of them for anyone who is interested in obtaining them, I've never noted how many I get per hour, but it's roughly in every 3 or 4 kills which take about a minute each so about 15 blue charms an hour. They also have a chance to drop the Holy Elixir and are have profitable drops, mostly coming form the their semi-common drop of 80 noted oak planks that have a value of about 45k.

I'm really busy as of late with school just starting. I'll comment on one.

They're horrible if you're going for summoning xp. They give cash, but so do many other monsters. This is a money monster, not a charm one.

So far so good on untrimmed summoning cape <3: Recently got 400K xp from WGS, and now doing theiving till 98 for 2M for XP. This Bork thingy will probably help too.

Also, I'm fighting cockroaches with a ticker. I'll tick every kill and record my drops and the charms I build up. Maybe that will help you with the Cockroach section of your guide.

If you're interested in adding chests to the guide, I've made a map for the RS Wiki: http://runescape.wik...chest_route.png. Only basic average chests though :| . It's a good method for skills or summoning pures, but it's not much XP, as you'd have to get 99 theiving 6 times to actually get enough charms for 99 summoning. 74-98 theiving is 2M summoning xp in charms and 14M gp gain. Getting enough for 99 as a skiller or pure would gain 13M XP in Charms and 91M gp, which pretty much pays itself :D

EDIT:

I've conducted my data collection. Each of the following is the profit of: a) the first 50 kills, B) the second 50 kills. I did not bank my charms, so the charms in my 100 Kills picture is the total charms collected. 6 monkfish were used, until I decided to get a bunyip. The bunyip totally cut out the need for food. Clue scrolls are mentioned under the hide option.

50 Kills

100 Kills

Being bored, I went back to kill 100 more :) . Killed 70 with one bunyip. There was no banking trips (except to bank at the 200th kill) and only 1 summoning run (too cheap to buy summoning pots  )

200 Kills

I went out and made some maps, cause I was REALLY bored.

Getting There, Bank Routes, Summoning Mini-Altar Routes

Stronghold of Player Safety Map

If you need more info on Cockroaches, data or anything else, feel free to ask. I'd be happy to help :<img src=:' />

Hey Kent, I've a quick question for you.

I'm going to be summoning via your "advanced way" (as I'm slaying for charms and want to use them all up) and was wondering when you'd recommend I should start using blues since I don't value my time as >1M/h. Are the titans at level 79 the time to start? Or should I wait 'til the lava titan at 83 and collect obsidian charms for them?

Thanks (and nice guide)

In the time it takes to collect the obsidian charms wouldn't it be wiser to make money and use them on another monster. You'd probably get the same amount of xp.

By then you'd have so much blues... doesn't Obsidian charms take a long time to get?

Lava titans are more useful to keep than elemental titans. The healing ability of bunyips and unicorns are much better.

I'd probably make geyser titans from blues as earth talismans have rose alot and water talismans are around the same price still.

Found a syntax error.

Under the FAQ section, there should be a comma after "however."

"Q) What monsters should I hunt to get my charms?

A) There are many choices, but the best are Waterfiends and Rock lobsters. Slayer is the absolute best way, however, as you get slayer xp."

Yeah... nothing major, but... Also, what weapon would you reccomend for training defensively at waterfiends. I was thinking either Torag's Hammers or Verac's Flail.

Well that's easy, Zamorakian Spear. It has a defensive crush option.

I'm not sure how long it takes (thought you might have an idea). Guess I'll just do a quick sample test once I get 79 and calculate the profit/loss per hour to figure it out...won't be for a little while anyways.

EDIT: And by "so much blues" do you figure around 1.5-2k? Thats the number I think it'd be anyways.
