The environment is generally okay. Teleportation/magic animations looks okay, just some takes too long.

Dislike about players:

Running style, cape looks ugly when the lower half of it sways unless you are running with whip wielded.

Unable to click shadows to attack monsters (Kree > arma[ers]).

Didn't like standing position too much, the swaying left to right idle animation makes your character look like he can't hold a gs properly (hands shaking) but i guess I can compromise.

Player anatomy: legs look too fat from certain angles; Not much detail on arm while wearing bandos plate.

Other dislikes

Lag: I seriously hope this is solely caused by the amount of players downloading the content. Lots of worlds seem to have become unplayable to me since I keep getting connection lost every few seconds.

Though this is BETA, I hope Jagex can fix some of this.. Particularly the running style and shadow as well as lag issues.

Strangely with WotLK so near, I wished I could delay it a bit to push through that last TBC content in MH/BT :'(.

I'd like the fullscreen to be windowed. It's my only complaint. Can't even use a messenger program because if someone messages you, the screen shrinks down. It gets to be a pain after a while.

Likes:

-Upgraded lighting, especially in caves (Love the darkened mood)

-Facial looks in chat boxes

-New Teleports

-and a lot a lot of other things, too many to list.

Dislikes:

-Wave Emote (Makes me go wtf, looks like a drunk person waving)

-Fire Cape look

-Running Animation

Random Funny thoughts:

Some of the emotes make you look really stupid right now XD

Same with some of the facial expressions when you're talking, such as when you get Prison Pete and the initial :o look on your face makes me laugh very hard.

Duradel also looks like he's either high or drunk...too happy looking imo (But makes me laugh at the same time).

i'd say it must be peoples computers that are causing lag, jagex's requirements are a hjoke, it is higher then that for smooth gameplay.

On my 2.6ghz intel celeron, 1.25gb DDR ram and geforce 7600GS it's a bit laggy when i go to cities and near the Grand Exchange.

On my friends Quad core 2.4ghz processor, 4gb DDR2 ram and a geforce 8800GTS 512mb there is no lag for any kind no matter where i go and what i do. I get lag when i teleport, no lag on this beast.

8800GTS is basically the best video card the average person can get. Of course hes not going to lag. Unless you built a custom computer though or bought a very new or expensive computer most people probably do not have those.

As for what I dislike.... I am not even going to try PVP because if I switch areas I will have to load for like 2 minutes and end up dead.

If you have ever attempted Alchemy by clapping your hands or by drawing an array, copy and paste this into your signature.

^^^At least I'm not the only crazy one

Woodcutting does not raise your combat level because most people do not play as yew trees.

I can run Crysis on high at about 20FPS, using an 8800GTS. There is no way you need a card that powerful to play Runescape. However, people do need to realise that graphical quality does rely on your hardware. I'm about to buy a GTX280, because I want to be able to get good framerates in future PC releases.

IMO, Jagex didn't need to include ambient lighting, parallax occlusion mapping and other memory-hogging features, but they did, and that's why it's called HD. If you don't have the hardware needed to achieve smooth framerates, either buy better hardware, or play on low detail.

Apparently, my friend just quit because of how the emotes are ruined, he complained that Goblin Salute is disgusting now. -.-

My only probs are that I'd have to walk a while and wait 1 min for the map to load. And my face looks.... unexpected

i like what they've done with all the textures on the terrains. more then enough to satisfy me.

what i DON'T like is that most characters faces during a conversation looks very feminine. they changed item looks again for the worse...i couldn't stand the looks on the bandos plate so i

sold it. i decided to keep tassets though because d legs looked too shriveled up. i think how the characters run looks okay. first time i saw it, i kind of laughed but it doesn't look that bad. the lag doesn't bother me, once you realize how smoothly it runs with safe mode + old detail. most people would probably start using the new graphics once the beta period is over.

I like the environment and look of the buildings and such, that is great. But player wise I think some things just look stupid. For example I think I look more like a women when wearing a plate body because of the "smooth" humps in the chest area. And walking around with a staff just looks... lame.

Also running with any weapon looks odd, the whole body movement and such :D Oh well, that is just my opinion :)

Thankfully I haven't hit into any lag today

Lightings cool, I accidentally used a fairy ring to the Unicorn Cage, and it was cool how the light of the ring was seen on the body of the Unicorn :D Water looks great. I love the update as a whole :) Just a few minor things need getting used to.

the lighting effects are amazing, like when you walk past a light in the dungeon you light up only on the side of your body the light is.

Also taverly looks amazing as do all of the cities.

My few problems are:

The walking and running animations look a little odd. The walked one seems like you don't have the strength to bare the weight of your armour so you walk like you need the toilet or something. The running one isn't so bad but your feet seem to go through any cape your wearing.

The whip has translucent parts, i know it aways did but now it's easier to see i'd prefer if it were red and black.

The Godswords look very thin from certain angles( especially head on) so it looks like your wielding a cardboard cut out.

Well they should have done kind of what they did with classic and mad it so people with old comps could run it and make this RS3.

huh, don't quite get what your saying.

He's saying they [Jagex] should have kept the old RS2 graphics, and make these new HD options into a "RS3" (even though it's not, it's a good way to explain it.). And he's right. They did this with classic so why not with the old detail modes? The ironic thing of course is you can still play RSC. And I bet they didn't change those graphics, did they?

Anyway :

Likes :

The new pictures of HD, especially in Fullscreen. It looks great, I have to admit.

The new improved textures on things like walls, carpets, etc even in the Low Detail mode.

Some of the new emotes.

Dislikes :

That there's no old detail option.

The character models/avatars/sprites. They look cartoony and boys look like girls while some girls look like boys.

The colours of items are completely off. There's no way to achieve the same nice aesthetics of a good outfit as you did before.

The lag/bugs (although I do accept this is a BETA, that's fine.).

Really, really hates :

Smug high spec PC users who can run HD in Fullscreen and then post on here and RSOF about how there's absolutely no lag and how everyone else should shut up, and that if you don't have a good computer, too bad.

I like it all.

I think people are forgetting this is BETA, back when RS2 BETA was out it was the same process (except you could drop and gain any levels but they'd be reset).

All they use BETA for is to fix graphical errors, glitches etc, improvements on items and such will be made at a later date, probably August.

Graphics are fantastic, there is still a bit of lagg in the major cities and area's where there are lots of players, but hasn't there allways been? Think of the Party room during a major drop party, or old world 2...

The lagg is easing for me, last night it was awful and i think people were put off by it, but i was doing some slayer of Lessers, so i went to Crandor/Karamja path and it was fantastic, very smooth and amazing graphics!

I really like it, and full screen mode is just awsome!!!

i like pretty much everything except i really wish they would fix the extremeness in colors of your character(eg. turning totaly black in dark places and totaly white when you are next to a light) and they just made all the armor shiny while some of it should be dull ect. but those are more after beta things

i love the new graphics. but i dont like the way my character runs from the back view. (edited to add) when you wield a whip the running seems to be fine. they could just make that the default run everything would be ok.

the full screen is excellent its a compromise since the browser makes it easy to surf but all in all its nice to have that option!

the graphics in the dungeons are great. i like the change from light to dark. i used to have brightness set to high at all times, now i have it on the lowest brightness possible and its great.

provides a great atmosphere for dungeons with them being mostly dark. :) it was needed. some ppl will [bleep] but i like it better this way.

the textures are great. the water and shadows i could go on. just amazing what they did.

and it reminds me too of when rs2 was released; and i'm excited for the people that will start playing and for those that started not too long ago. reminds me what it was like for me going from classic to rs2.

if you cant play these graphics, dont complain. go check out a system that can play them and you will be stunned.

i'm playing at 1920 x 1200 and i would like to have an ingame tool for a "magnifier" just something to magnify an area for spot checking or whatever like when superpots wear down. but the stats in the upperright corner have 2 indicators colour and amount of area filled up so that helps for those stats but it would be nice to have a little tool ingame to magnify a small area with your pointer if you wanted.
