Just like FunOrb had, we are now able to make accounts without ever having to leave the menu.

I really like the way the new log in screen is organised. It makes things like your settings a lot easier to organise before you even log into the game. I like the entire new over haul of the Runescape website. I am already getting used to it and it does make things easier for me.

Yah I really like the idea, makes making a new account much more convenient. I've been impressed with the updates lately, graphics, map and lots of small things like this make the game much better.

I remember they used to have this a long time ago. Never figured out why Jagex made you go to the front page when they had a "New User" option.

However, that can get Jagex in serious trouble as that account creator doesn't deal with COPPA, and you can register even if you're 8 years old even though you're supposed to be 13+ or have parental permission to do so.

As it's illegal for any company to have your personal details if you're under the age of 13 (unless) you've got parental permission (as I stated above).

I remember when RuneScape 1 had this, you could do it from the menu.

Awesome.

You don't need to enter any personal details, it's just a username and password. Does that still count? It's not compulsory to enter personal stuff, only if you want to add things in to help with lost passwords etc later on.

About time they added this feature back in. Been wondering if it was high time for them to finally take it out of the login menu...

...Alright, the Elf City update lured me back to RS over a year ago.

Crikey, it's been what 4 years since they took this out.

there are no stupid questions

just way too many inquisitive idiots

balance is scary to people who like things easy for them

It is so much better now...

Always thought that 'new user' button was a tad pointless, the new menu looks good :D

I was going to say this, but thought someone else already did at the time.. Personally, I like it. You don't have to exit the page and then load it all over again.

Cool. I was always annoyed by the Fischer Price "create account" button. Now it actually does something. Yay. \o/

I believe it's 13+ because of free chat with other players. <13 year olds are supposed to only use the internets under adult supervision. e.g. "Visit us on the web at _______.com! Ask your parents before going online."

Jagex's pretty uptight about the younger players, but really, if their parents let them go on without knowing what they're doing/if the child is untrustworthy, it's not Jagex's fault.

You have to enter your date of birth and what country you live in.

It was just a bit pointless, especially after how long it takes to load the first time. :P

I have no intrest in helping "keyers" farm xp.

Strangely you can also do this on the main page now aswell, well you could a couple hours ago. I selected uk for country and entered DOB as 2003.

OT: nice addition, if this was before RWT updates id be a little concerned about the benefit to macros but i dont think thats a serious problem now.

Theres a fine line between not listening and not caring,

I like to think I walk this line every day.

Pinning blame on Jagex is like trying to put pants on an old man.

You both know he needs them, but he'll just keep dancing around, avoiding them at all costs.

Also Jagex is using links in game. Before, you could never click a link in the game that would open anything in your browser. Now, there are many. Trying to go HD on a free account will make blue text appear saying to go play the free version. Also ingame recoveries and unread messages have links to the main page.

Ingame adverts anyone? Would make them impossible to avoid, at random times a popup window would appear for set amount of time inbetween your chatbox and the tabs (fullscreen only) but perhaps in the chatbox at other times?

You know how annoying they would be if they did that? Lol I wouldn't expect many f2p afterwards.

True. But, you know it might happen for fullscreen only...Once FTP gets HD, and the ability to play fullscreen, most of them will. That means no more adverts. How will FTP bring any income in?

I don't think f2p will get full screen, just like in funorb, only members get full screen.

Um.. Yay?

It's not long-desired. People sign up once, care for about 5 seconds, and then they don't care for the rest of their life :P
