"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice

Featured Replies

Yeah, she's sort of a nympho. She used to flirt with me a lot when I would go see her sister, and yesterday she straight-up said it.

Could be an elaborate plan for your ex to pretend she's her sister and have sex with you.

That's diabolically genius.

Psychological epiphany?

ever notice how when you don't want a relationship, an opportunity for one slaps you in the face? Or when you finally decide to commit to a person, the opposite sex practically throws themselves at you? Why is that? Is it in our nature to sabotage ourselves and other's? Well yes, but not in this situation so to speak. I believe it's an atmosphere, a "vibe" if you will. Some may refer to this as confidence, but I'm thinking it's more than that. When in a state that truly is not desiring to be attractive to other's [whilst still remaining a status-quo "you"], you tend to ignore the opposite sex as you are paying no mind to them, with no desire to chase or pursue them. I feel too much emphasis is placed on the "desire for the game". Maybe it's more than that. I think it's because while in this mind-frame you command respect and self assurance, you are an unconfined form of yourself, free to be, unhindered by the thought process in the back of your mind "am what I doing right now helping me get with [person]?" If you are truly in a place where that doesn't matter, other's will recognize this in some form or another [may it be body language, speech, behavior, etc] and see that they either (a) have no competition thus a better chance with you or (b) see you for the unrestrained personality you are and are attracted to it. While in this state of "freedom" you are generally less stressed and happier, features of which most would find attractive given the alternative. The ignoring them is not what is attracting them, it's the way of life in which you hold no preoccupation or fixation on someone/thing else.

What I think I'm trying to say is, the more you act like you the more people you will attract, which is why faking it may work, but not nearly as well as legitimacy.

Lord I wish I started typing while I was still thinking...made way more sense an hour ago.

Personally, I'd say you've been on Facebook for too long. That sounds like something some girl would write on her wall.

I, for one, find that in this state of "self confidence" and ignorance of the opposite sex tends make the girls more shy of me. They still laugh when you make a joke, but they don't really speak back too much. Maybe that's just me not recognizing something. To be quite honest, when i reflect on the past year, I find that this ignorance has made me an arrogant and cynical guy towards the world and people in general.

Well damn it, think I've made a Facebook-like post myself <_<

I have noticed it, but it's more subtle. Generally, when I 'work out' (I say work out, but it comes naturally) that I would like to be in a relationship with someone, I generally start paying them more attention - not acting out of character as such, but let that person come into a larger part of my life (not putting on the pedestal etc, but wanting to spend more time with her etc).

When I am not interested in anyone, my social interactions probably seem more fluid and spread out, which is attractive in its own way.

Again, this is complicating something simple, but that's how I would explain it.

I agree with what RPG said. There's something inherently unattractive about someone who needs a girlfriend.

Matt: You want that eh? You want everything good for you. You want everything that's--falls off garbage can

Camera guy: Whoa, haha, are you okay dude?

Matt: You want anything funny that happens, don't you?

Camera guy: still laughing

Women are attracted to men that other women are to, and likewise will feel less attracted to a man who has been rejected.

If you're taken and they don't know you are, it's likely a slight change in your body language etc that hints at it.

Women are attracted to men that other women are to, and likewise will feel less attracted to a man who has been rejected.

Why?

Preselection is a proven attraction trigger for women. Since most of the attraction is based on personality (and not looks for men which are immediately obvious) it acts somewhat as an efficient screening process.

Generally all women are attracted to the same base values, (like men are) so if a man has shown attractive qualities to 1 women they can carry over to another.

It's only 1 factor of a few but it can make the difference.

Been so busy with moving in and getting into the groove that I haven't noticed not hearing from the girl I like.

Maybe it'll be this easy all year (or until I officially get over her).

You're in college, find another girl. You'll be surprised how quickly you move on.

Yep. Pretty much. The whole "The best way to get over someone is to get under someone else" thing really does work.

It's more of a case of finding another girl to get over it. When I got dumped by my Ex a few years back, I didn't have anyone to lean on, and no women would sleep or screw me. Probably one of the reasons it took so long to get over her.

"Lean on" I hope you didn't go around looking for help/sympathy/compassion? Because it possibly explain why the Women didn't come near.

I meant at the time I was in hysterics and none of my friends offered to help at all, even to merely take me out into town to try and forget

That would probably be why. Guys who seem clingy and emotional doesn't attract girls.

New signature, it's my girlfriend.

She must love the taste of hair.

You could just add "my girlfriend" to your signature, you know.

Well from the pictures it looks as if theres a ton of people there....

Plus on weekends its a gay club, and thats not my cup of tea.

A girl on FB that I've never met started talking to me a few days ago. I ended up giving her my number and she's been texting me constantly asking me to go [bleep] her... I told her she can come over tonight and she asked me what we would do "after." I told her I didn't want to do anything after and she got pissed.

Not sure if she's still coming, but we'll see haha.

Almost everyone at the club (assuming it's not just a high class bar) will be tipsy to absolutely smashed, so it makes relatively little difference whether you are or not.

[hide=Read if you want to]Pretty all of the communication you make will be physical and not verbal, so you will have to get up close and personal (but not in a creepy or unwarranted way. Basically, don't just start grinding on every female).

I've actually 'tested' the physical/verbal thing in a 'high-end' club (Cafe De Paris in London, if anyone is interested), and the initial physical contact was aided by a wingman (he 'accidentally' forced my hand into her posterior. I do not recommend this though, since this was done on someone who was sitting down, not dancing), when she turned around, we started chatting about inane crap (because the music was loud, it actually matters very little what you say, which is my point), but I built up the physical contact through touching, and eventually dancing.

Basically, just be confident. If you can show that you're confident in everything you do, that will be your way in. If you get rejected, don't worry about it, just move onto the next one.[/hide]

This sounds really seedy, but it is literally just how simple it is to do it.
