An update about that girl I posted about 2 or 3 pages ago. Last night we hung out, got drunk under a bridge and talked and walked around her town for a while. She was explaining how she knows how her current long-distance relationship is going to fail, and how her boyfriend knows it too. It was really obvious she was coming on to me, and soon she was resting her head on my shoulder as we were sitting down. Then we ended up kissing for a little while, then talking about the implications of the fact that she has a boyfriend. She explained that she's just a really sexual person and the fact that her boyfriend is across the country means that she just isn't romantically satisfied at all. Then we made out for like 20 minutes before I had to go catch my bus. It was really enjoyable, and now we've texted a little bit today about how we're both just down for being casual friends with benefits.

 

It's just kind of weird because I've never been in a scenario quite like this. On paper, everything is kind of perfect. I wouldn't really want to date her because I'm not like super physically/emotionally attracted to her, and she's fine with that. Like I can't really picture myself developing serious feelings for her at all. But it's still enjoyable to be romantic with someone. She seems a little needier than me, but if it ever gets weird or unbalanced, she's like an hour bus-ride away and goes to another college so it'd be pretty easy to break ties. 

 

So yeah, overall a pretty good situation to be in.

You invite her over, sleep with her, then hang out and talk with her for like an hour or two before you send her home. Nothing romantic, just two people who enjoy each others company and bodies :P

TBH though I'm kind of inferring from your posts that deep down you'd love to mess around with her, but you won't because you're afraid to for various reasons. In other words, this sounds like a golden opportunity for you that you're passing up out of fear.

TBH though I'm kind of inferring from your posts that deep down you'd love to mess around with her, but you won't because you're afraid to for various reasons. In other words, this sounds like a golden opportunity for you that you're passing up out of fear.

 

This is the same kind of thing that's currently making me hesitate in the whole TA/student situation I mentioned earlier. Definitely not interested in anything serious considering I'll be moving on after this semester, and I'm not afraid of that per se, but the fact that we'll have to see each other most days no matter what happens combined with me feeling kinda responsible due to being rather older is making it a bit difficult.

 

Although it's not quite the same as having someone all over you and resisting that; more like having potential there but with me being kinda responsible for making something happen.

 

I guess I can share an update though: Last weekend I was rolling with a crew of dude friends and decided to go home when they left for a party I wasn't interested in, only to run across this girl on my way. She invited me to go with her to some other stuff and we ended up back at her apartment with a bunch of people smoking a bong until 3 am. It was definitely kind of tense, and the touch barrier was broken and all that, but it was a weird setting and I was reading the room and decided to play it safe and just go home. Yeah yeah, I chickened out, but it's not like I can swing and miss and then never see her again, no harm no foul. I really don't want to screw up a working relationship.

 

tl;dr this whole thing is running really hot/cold and I kind of dig it (rpg you get me rite) even though I should probably stop waffling and go for it or drop it.

If you're going to be forced to interact with her consistently then I personally wouldn't pursue anything with her just because that sounds like drama waiting to happen. But I realize that some of you guys think that sounds fun and exciting so if that's the case then go for it :P

wait was this addressed towards me? your assessment isn't quite accurate. it's not like genuinely deep down I really want to have sex with her. right now I'm seriously just ambivalent about it in general, but I know it's gonna happen like the next time we hang out anyways, because she clearly really wants to and I'm just fine with it, and I know I'll enjoy it once it happens. I think the reason I'm not rushing and really excited about it happening is because 1) I'm not super attracted to her 2) she has a boyfriend who doesn't know about me and 3) she seems very needy which is kind of a turnoff for me (and most people in general really). like I feel I should be working for it a little more I guess?

 

regardless I realize the direction it's going in, and we're both generally happy with it, and that's all that matters.

 

 

If you're genuinely not completely attracted to her, that's fine. But otherwise, it's still literally a perfect textbook FB situation. The fact that she's needy and "easy" is irrelevant if she's just a FB rather than a long-term romantic partner.

 

But as long as you genuinely don't believe that you'll regret your decision either way, then yeah whatever you choose is fine.

As said above. All those things are true and I am especially a [kitty] when it comes to discussing these things with girls. Slowly though, it gets better.

hahaha what? that's an oddly specific assumption but it's probably not too far off. she doesn't smoke anymore but I wouldn't be surprised if that's what she did smoke. I only smoke very rarely, like a cig or two a week, but I got a pack of newports myself.
