Quick Chat- Convenient or Unnecessary?

Personally, I disagree with the Quick Chat. I hate to be one of those angry noobs but even the freaking insults are polite! I only use it when im muted :lol: , Please share your opinion

 

 

 

This was a Real Conversation:

 

M= Muted RS Player

 

C= Cocky RS Noob

 

 

 

*Both are mining near Varrock*

 

M: What is your level in mining?

 

C: None of your business.

 

M: Run and hide, pal!

 

C: No these are my iron ores! [He obviously couldn't mine iron]

 

M: No.

 

C: I'm going to go and train Theiving on: Your Family.

 

M: Try training Attack on: Chickens

I got no room to talk because the 'Cocky Noob' was lvl90(?) and the other muted dude was like 110's so. But still, even at level 50 how do you comeback to someone offering advice for you to pwn chickens. Its Runescape 'Yo Mama', i tell ya! :lol:

There are many features that many people look at as unnecessary... quickchat or maybe ones ignore list? ;)

In all honesty, unless you have a path memorized in the Quick chat interface, its a pain to use.

 

For example, if your gwding and you need to tele and are muted, its a hassle to find the "I'm out of here!" option and chances are you'd be dead or had alredy teled.

That's for a very simple reason. When u first started typing: took you a few weeks to get up to 60+wpm didn't it?

 

 

 

Well, if you use quickchat only worlds and use the keyboard hotkeys for quickchat, u'll be typing faster than without quickchat in a few weeks. :

i'd say it is a good addition to the game.

+1, qc was made for apparent quick chat between slow typing players, and their sole target was to bring back muted people.

The real reason it was created was so underaged players could play the game safely i guess

If the ball was in the other side of the court, and you were muted yourself, there would be no need for this thread at all. I am going to take the side of a muted player for this one, and say it is necessary. Before this update, muted players were simply Macroers, expect without the programming. No social interaction what so ever apart from emotes and willing friends/throw away accounts. With this update however, the muted community had a chance to talk to the other members who aren't muted, and interact with one another, almost be normal again.

I often find myself learning more about the Quick Chat system when I'm doing boring tasks like fishing/woodcutting.

Well, I guess it is unnecessary unless you're muted, but I personally have never used it unless I get bored while fishing.

I have not found Quick Chat to be useful, as of late. It doesn't seem to be a necessity at all. I suppose I've never been muted, so Quick Chat may only be useful when someone is in a certain position of status (Such as being muted).

 

 

 

I am sure as my Runescape life goes along, I will use Quick Chat at some period in time,
