I_am_Geed
If we sit on Earth long enough, the sun in its ending stages in turning into a somewhat of a gas giant and completly consuming the inner-planets. If not, some powerfull plack hole that gets completly out of control and obliterated the milky way.
3rkid
I say that we'll reach some speed above the speed of light, perpetually making us younger. We shall never die. :ugeek: Remember people in the 18th century saying if humans went any faster than 25 MPH our blood would boil? Well, I guess we just have to find out for ourselves what exactly would happen if a human went equal or greater than the speed of light.

Lenticular_J
Says logic. Light can travel at the speed of light. And light is energy. I don't know where I'm going. But okay. You know, there really is no present. Apparently, nothing's instantaneous. That's stupid. catch it now so you can like it before it went so mainstream

We shall never die. :ugeek: nothing can travel faster than light ;) the end of the human race will likely be caused by a superdisease, maybe a complete crash of all computers, or the super-massive black hole at the centre of the galaxy. I would start ranting on about astrophysics, but I would bore everyone, so I'll resist it. I know waaaay too much for a 15 year old :geek: EDIT: just read what maul said, any links to that? sounds interesting.

Even now, I can say that Eisenstein's Theory of Relativity is made up. Though according to current theorys, you're correct. Anything mass that approaches the speed of light becomes increasingly and increasingly smaller until it reaches zero. However, if we were to go past the speed of light, we would go backwards, essentially through time.
Skull
All that is needed to exceed the speed of light is a "warp drive," the basic idea behind it being that you would shrink space in front of you and expand space behind you to basically be propelled along. The only problem is that no one knows how to shrink or expand space, and even if they did the energy required would be enormous. Regardless, that's not really going faster than light, you're merely beating it to the point by taking a shorter distance. When we say the speed of light, usually it refers to c, the speed of light in a vacuum.
doomwish11
In the red corner, weighing in at several hundred billion million kilograms! Its everybody's favourite destroyer of worlds... THE BLACK HOLE FROM THE LHC!! AAAAAND!! In the blue corner! Weighing in at pretty much nothing! Its that oh so famous cloud of hot air... THE 2012 Doomsday theories!! probably nuclear war though. lol, i'm going to go out on my back porch on watever day it is and when the time strikes, scream "I'M STILL HEEEERRRE!" Oh, yeah, the LHC black hole would evaporate before it sucked up the whole earth. US is safe :-)!

I have this idea (though it may be completely stupid): They are trying to figure out the nature of a field that makes certain objects have mass, am I right? The field of Higgs bosons? Would it be possible to create mass-free conduits through space in order to travel at light speed? But I don't want to go among mad people!Oh, you can't help that. We're all mad here..."
