We're looking at $5500 for a Bacholor of Arts, per year in my country. Things like Medicine and Bio cost more to do. That price is for tuition, and excludes book purchases.

You have to be a UK student to understand. It may be aiding the recovery of the economy but it reduces the amount of opportunities lower and middle class students have - like many people have quoted "Universities are once again becoming institutions for the rich".

Today I went to school, although my brain practically melted seeing as I had practically revised all week for science & maths exams. I've started developing ideas for my final picece of artwork for the pop-art module I've been studying in art this term - it is either going to be a large scale canvas painting or a longboard graphic.

Eh, it's 1000 a year for tuition fees here, in an elite Uni. And students are already protesting because of those fees. :unsure:

(Yes, in Germany) And yes, tuition fees of that sort were introduced in 2005. There's some extra administrative and social fees I have to pay (110 a semester), but those are the current tuition fees per se in the state.

Trying out video chat on omegle; holy balls do I hate social interaction, even with random people over the internet. My friend's really good at it, everyone loves him. And by everyone I mean girls since he doesn't talk to guys. And somehow they don't get mad at him even though all he does is try to get them to take their clothes off. I don't get it.

 

Granted he's drunk whenever he does it, so maybe that's the secret.

today has been a stressful day!

 

Woke up at 5 am, worked 6am - 8am.

 

Came home at 8 to dismantle my bed ready for the removal men to take it for me, only to find that I had lost my Allen key, I checked at mums, it wasn't there either, so I ended up with a quick dash to Asda, to buy a set of Allen keys, only they dont sell them, so got a screwdriver/ratchet set with changeable heads that had the right size head.

 

Furniture got taken away, I then accidentally fell asleep for two hours, then spent from midday until 6pm sorting through my stuff and throwing out 12 bags of rubbish (that's only today, I have been throwing stuff away for a week now), I had to stop when my back started killing me, and my belly was hurting so the baby was obviously trying to get me to stop!

 

I felt it move for the first time today though, that was great :-D

 

 

Tomorrow I have to pick up the last of my stuff, clean my bathroom, windows and wash the carpet and that's me out of the flat then :-D

Then I can start throwing stuff out at mums to make room for my stuff (I am throwing away my old stuff) then I can settle into mums again, and go back to having boring evenings sat at home enjoying being pregnant and tired, instead of stressed, miserable and having no sleep!

Bumming around. then fixing my car's roof liner later. Tomorrow I might go to the beach. Looking for a new job as my trial period is only 3 weeks away and I'd like to be ready just in case They deem me not worthy. (despite being the only guy they'll get with the proper experience).

 

Oh, and we sold the house and move out in 3 weeks. :D

Most American collleges are $30,000+/year.

 

Britaish conservatism needs to get over itself.

It's a case of tripled pricing. It's also £9,000 for your basic university. They can now charge what they want, and the government is going to cut 40% from education funding.

 

If education fees tripled and 40% of the education budget was slashed in America, wouldn't there be riots there too?

 

They'd essentially be killing themselves (the government and, as a side victim, the economy) if they did that. It's too easy to play the victim in this, and you don't want to be the one causing this. This is one of those things you don't want to cause. $21,000 is what you'd be paying per year for something like med school, not a normal 4-year degree.

 

All I know is, here in the states, average "good" colleges cost $40,000/year tuition only. My buddy goes to [and lives at] Drexel University in the 5 year program. He's already over $100,000 in debt, and he's only in his third semester.

 

I myself only pay $6,000/semester [close to $10,000/year] but I commute, and go to one of the most ghetto colleges in the damn country.

Hmm, strange. Vanderbilt is one of the best places to go for a medical degree, and it's the same cost than your "good" colleges. Really, in the end, employers don't give a [cabbage] what college you went to, only if you have the degree or not. Exceptions nonwithstanding, of course.

Generally in-state colleges are $10,000-15,000, out-of state are usually over $30,000, technical/career-specific schools tend to be around or over $30,000, and elites/ivies like Harvard and Yale and MIT (applied and visited, MIT's campus is a bit depressing but its awesomeness severely overwhelms that :P ) are about $50,000. Of course there are specific exceptions, but this tends to be relatively true on average.

Off to the girlfriend's house now, probably going to an old quarry that filled up with water with cliffs to jump off tomorrow. Also probably checking out a [bleep]in' burger joint at south bank that someone wouldn't shut up about today.

 

I also just found out that I'm not a fan of baked cheesecake :-X
