Dizzle229
I refuse to believe that, I'm lower middle class at best. Besides, the alternative is that he continues complaining about it on the internet :rolleyes:The only private school here is a Catholic school. I'll pass. And I post it here to vent, not because I expect one of you to come swooping in on a rope and take me to Never-Never Land. Though if one of you would be so kind, that'd be great thanks. Jernlov
Horrible, horrible day. Holocaust survivor came to speak, with the general message of "If you see [cabbage] going down, DO SOMETHING". Unfortunately the whole thing fell on deaf ears, as the ENTIRE 2 HOUR SPEECH, people were yammering on. It was WORSE than I expected. Girls talked about stupid gossip and crap, boys all laughed at every detail of his stories and made Nazi and holocaust jokes. When they didn't have anything to say, they would VERY loudly clear their throats just to make some kind of noise. At the end when we could ask questions, most people just ask stupid crap that seemed deliberately asked to be offensive. The ones that were in the back that he couldn't see all had a stupid smile on their face. To top it all off, at the end of the day, that autistic kid on my bus was made fun of again. This time they were trying to convince him that his dead grandpa that he loved is waiting for him back at home. I jumped in, and it was very close to a fist fight before we came to his stop. I am convinced that violence is the ONLY way to end this crap.Or maybe you should stop caring about insignificant [cabbage]. Kids are disrespectful. This is not a new thing.Actually that is pretty terrible and any person with a conscience would get mad about it. When [cabbage] like this happens online as well, it makes me think that Internet police are a good idea. Honestly private school is absolutely no different either. Same kids, just richer. RpgGamer
So it turns out there's a reason that car only had 7k miles on it and has big ass tires in the back. It's an ex-drag racer. With 400 horse power. And for that, the insurance is through the roof and my parents won't help me pay for it. Thus, I can not afford the car, unless he's willing to drop the price to an almost laughable amount. I cried on the inside. and a little on the outside. My only hope is that no one buys it in the next 6-7 months, and then I can afford it 100% on my own. Fingers crossed? Quote Quote Anyone who likes tacos is incapable of logic. obfuscator
I'm paying less than $5,000 a year to go there, normal tuition is ~$40,000 for a boarding student. That's a bit misleading, because I have a big scholarship and financial aid, but I'd reason that it's doable for someone who is reasonably athletic and intelligent. Of course, it's a well established private school, so they have a lot of money they can give out (which isn't true of every school). But people have this vision that private schools are only for rich kids, that's actually not true at all.I agree with you that private schools in general have a higher....calibre...of person, but there's a reason for it; they are too expensive for many families. I attended one for 8 years and enjoyed it but the financial strain on my parents was immense with multiple children. @dizzle's situation: Caring for others makes them care for you in turn. @rocco: Want to shrug off stuff as someone else's problem when you can make a difference? Shiny
Wrote a long post, then pressed enter and it backspaced. Hang on, will edit in a sec. It HAS affected me on numerous occasions. -Caused me to have to redo a project that I read a 750 page book for.-Cost my parents and myself money when they ruined a trip to Washington D.C., by complaining that the museums were boring until they decided to just go back to the hotel and leave hours early. We didn't get to go to most of the museums as a result. If you didn't want to see museums, then why did you come on this trip?-Constantly slowing progress in classes to the point where we learn only a fraction of what we're supposed to. And it's not that they're not understanding the material and need more time to learn, that's a legitimate reason, and it's not like I am anything special academically myself. What I mean is the 3 classes I have that are constantly interrupted by distractions and BS to the point of missing out on entire units at the end of the year, forcing some questions on the final to be answered by luck and outside knowledge.-Constantly making me miss the one class I'm actually enjoying by leaving a mess of the cafeteria, at which time the lunch assistants force us to stay back and clean the place. Can't say I blame them, but my god, it isn't hard to eat without making a mess. And yes, there will always be stupid people, but after school you at least have more of a choice of who you associate with. You can't get rid of them completely, but I imagine it's at least better than THIS. Here, there's no such freedom.Doesn't sound any worse than my public school. The world is full of [developmentally delayed]s (and I mean full). Public schools are like a cesspool for [developmentally delayed]s. Either suck it up or go to a private school (I chose the latter). I go to a public school, and we don't have problems like this AT all.

Napalm
You got yourself a complicated situation Dizzle. So I'd try to get more people to back him up before jumping to do anything.
