Man if I was paying 1700 in just rent I would literally not be able to eat. Or drive anywhere other than work. Is that normal pricing where you're at?

$1700 for a 1 bedroom is about how much it costs for a high rise 1BR downtown where I live. Downtown's usually the most expensive region in a city so $1700 is the standard rate for a top-tier apartment here. I'm paying $1100/mo for a 1 bedroom + study in an old apt built in the early 70s with no dishwasher or garbage disposal... but it's downtown so it's a pretty solid deal IMO. If I were to upgrade to one of the apartments built within the last 10 years down the street, I'd be looking at a minimum of $1600. I don't really think it's worth it for me to pay an extra $500/mo just for a dishwasher, garbage disposal, and newer aesthetics

Well the very most expensive high rise 1 bedrooms start at $2400 at the newest, fanciest location, but all the others are starting between $1700-2000. Also it looks like 1 Canadian dollar = .77 USD so that would partially explain why things seem more expensive in Toronto

I still have a 4.0 GPA... gotta keep it! I'm gonna cry when it drops :(. I'm hoping I can keep a 4.0 GPA through my Associate's and maybe, just maybe, through my Bachelor's but I think that's unlikely (flashbacks to biology and chemistry). On a resume, would I put 4.0 GPA under my Associate's and 3.X under my Bachelor's?

I'm working on a helpful skeleton miner. I rigged the skeleton model using the player armature so he can use player armor/weapons:

He'll give you a piece of food if you talk to him and ask. (Unlimited, I think...) He'll just mine some rocks, smelt then, smith some items, and repeat.

The purpose is to allow the player to mine rocks quicker (unlike in RuneScape, as long as you're mining the rock when it's depleted, you'll get a resource), He'll have like level 10 mining and be carrying an iron pickaxe so he'll deplete the rocks in 3-4 hits if my math is right. You can also attack him but he'll be pretty tough and you won't have any cool tricks to counter him like with the boss ghost foreman.

I'd say if your GPA is higher than 3.5, it's worth putting on there. Otherwise, the degree speaks for itself. Mine was 3.41 and things worked out ok

 

Also: Blizzard is doing some weird shake ups. Like they took Ben Brode off of Hearthstone. Not a great environment from the looks of it

Who the hell needs to buy an IELTS certificate? It ain't that hard to get legally and if you can't get it you have bigger issues in life.

Salary differences don't generally account for exhange rate disparity so I doubt that carries over into rent too much

I pay 680 a month and I get to own the house at the end. I already hate the city, but jeez, the rent prices are reason enough to stay away.

I got to call 911 this morning for a customer at Walmart. I saw her on the ground with her husband. She is 85 years old. I asked her what happened. She said that her hip and ankle gave out and she fell. She said to call for a ambulance. I told the dispatcher what happened and where we were. I went inside to tell a manager what happened. They came outside and I went back to work. Have to push in buggies still.

A Wal-Mart customer? Should have called her an uber. Poor lady is like 300k in debt now.

Between my brother and me we make ~$2,900 but we have over $2,400 in expenses... Our general living expenses are pretty cheap (only $1600 on average for rent + utilities + phone + internet + food + misc [Netflix, etc]).

 

If my car insurance weren't so expensive ($300/month, thanks new driver penalty) plus payment & gas ($250-$300), and there were no doctor bills ($200/month, thanks America), we'd be doing a lot better. In fact, we'd be doing /great/. We'd have nearly $1,000 a month left over. Ugh.

I started watching Stranger Things last night. Can't remember what time i started, but before i knew it it was like 10am and i binge watched the entire first season. Was actually really good.
