Just a thought.You should definitely do it on how 'Nam was a complete Charlie Foxtrot due to the political motivations behind troop deployments and whatnot. That war could have been so much easier. You could tie it into Obama's directive that threats must be called in and verified before any shooting occurs due to political ramifications. Or how during the Cold War, the Joint Chiefs of Staff or military advisors or someone made an agreement to essentially remove the "button" from the President, refusing an order to launch nuclear missiles unless they had "a damned good reason". You'll have to find that yourself, though, I forget where I read about it. Politicians shouldn't be in the military. Military leaders should be in the military. That is your thesis.
