I was thinking of a idea, Jagex has said that they give new chances to players who's done mistakes to prove for the better.

 

 

 

So i was wondering, should report posts make the black marks disappear? After all it shows that people notice bad thing in game and report it...

For every geniune report post, it should take away 0,010% of your black mark away

 

 

 

Where a Blck mark is 1,0%

Imo, this would be bad. Just result in a lot of wanna-be mod like behavior, and if anyone says anything that gets censored, even if it's not something bad, they're guaranteed to be reported by someone who wants to get rid of their black marks

Maybe, but I'm worried about turning ex-convicts into vigilantes, it could potentially be dangerous. You might even get into the position where people will try to get other people to break rules to report them.

because want to be mods arent bad enough, people with 9.9 blackmarks will make it worse.

It even doesn't have to be anything offendable, make 100 reports on absolutely anything and your free of blackmarks. That is too easy, appealing system is as good as it is.

I know that, but how many people do you think know that?

 

Besides, I'll bet that a lot of the players who got blackmarks got them for offensive language, so they'd assume that a censored word = offensive language.

 

Besides, it'd mean one player has to give 100 players blackmarks to get rid of their one blackmark, which they got for a reason.

They're meant to deter one from future instances of rule-breaking; if Jagex were to subtract them for reporting people (something that I think is done quite commonly anyway, as there is no shortage of wannabe p-mods in RS), that would just give rule breakers additional leeway to continue breaking the rules! :roll: Just stop doing bad things, and you won't need to worry about ever reaching the magic number of 10 black marks.

And there'd be a lot more innocent people getting reported if this was implemented.

 

One person gets reported for something small, and gets one blackmark.

 

He goes out and reports 100 people for small things, and they all get one blackmark.

 

So then they all go out and report 100 people each for the silliest little thing just to get rid of their blackmark.

 

That's 10,000 people so far, all reported for something very small. I'm sure most of them would fit in with your definition of innocent, but it doesn't matter, they were reported just so someone could get rid of their blackmarks.

 

All this would do is increase the number of innocent people reported.

Aha thats true. Well sorry for my post if it wasted your time. I just thought that it would be nice that people who once did scamming, but has changed could remove those marks.

Well the whole point is to give another chance to players who prove they have changed attitude. Reporting other people, even successfully, doesn't prove that the person's attitude has changed. Not much can prove it, except good behaviour.

Do NOT report censored words, as the filter has already caught them, but Jagex will still likely take action against the account it they're an offensive word. However, if you see someone bypassing the filter, it IS reportable.

 

 

 

I doubt Jagex would do this, or at least not make it publicly announced. It just offers more reports than they can handle=more staff=less money.

2) Scroll over Help and click Appeal Bans & Mutes.

 

3) Log in & it will be displayed.

On Runescape.com, put your mouse over [Account] then choose [Account Management] out of the 3 options.

 

 

 

Go down to where it says "Account Management" and pick the middle icon which says [Appeal Offence].

 

 

 

You then get re-directed to Jagex.com

 

 

 

Type in your username and password.

 

 

 

You then get taken to a window where all your offences are.

 

If your in the green zone and the text box says "There are no offences on this account", you have 0.0 black marks.

 

 

 

If you have an offence, the amount of black marks will be listed on the page.

You're either smart enough to know to evade my comment, or dumb enough to miss the point entirely. My vote, personally, is the latter. So answer my "question": Do you or don't you have any black marks?

Sounds like Jagex would be uncontrollably spammed with false or trivial reports.

Maybe not a post, but a user ingame.

 

 

 

If the report is found true, the user will have a portion removed, maybe .10, intead of .001. Ten GOOD reports would remove a black mark.

 

 

 

Id really like to have some removed, 7 doesnt look good :wall:
