Indiana, Kentucky, Virginia, North Carolina (barely), South Carolina, Georgia and Florida are now swinging McCain. Vermont is in the bag for Obama though.

Edit: Things are taking an interesting turn now.

^ precisely the point of not taking the early results seriously

And here's the massive update I was predicting. CNN claims 77-34, Obama, sounds right as most of Obama's states at the minute are the northeastern ones and Illinois.

...Still to early to tell, after the Bible Belt is over it should be clearer.

Is there a reason why the east cost counts faster than west?

sig2webzx7.jpg

I too am watching CNN atm. Cnn's projections seem to show Obama raping Mccain. Virginia seems to be going back to McCain.

Bobbington, it's probably because a lot of the news networks and battleground states are towards the east and thus news gets around faster.

But then again, you fail to realize that 101% of the people in this universe hate you. Yes, humankind's hatred against you goes beyond mathematical possibilities.
That tears it. I'm starting an animal rebellion using my mind powers. Those PETA bastards will never see it coming until the porcupines are half way up their asses.

Apparently a lot of people say it. I own.

They probably count at the same rate, it's just that eastern states voting ends earlier than western states.

BBC now claim that Obama is up to 103 to McCain's 34, I'm still skeptical until the numbers are confirmed though.

The east coast is in a different timezone, so closed earlier.

Obama's up quite a bit, but it is the East Coast. Plus, almost no states were completely dominated by either candidate. This'll be a close'un.

catch it now so you can like it before it went so mainstream

^I think people are buying too much into "We need change" thing; just because we vote a 1/3 black(not said to sound rascist) into the White House may not change anything but history.

^Yes this year is going to make history because if Obama's voted in it'll be the first time an African American(I think) takes over the U.S. or if McCain wins it'll have history with Palin.

^I'm in High School and everyone there is saying that if McCain gets voted in he will have a heart attack and die the first week of Presidency because of the pressure, or if Obama gets in he'll be assassinated within the first month.

^So primarily everyone at my High School is voting for Obama because he's black and etc. and not for McCain because he's old and if he dies Palin will have to take over, which everyone DESPISES.

^One major con for Obama:he's for Abortion; McCain:he MAY die while in presidency then Palin will have to take over which is the worst case scenario.

I am surprised texas is for Barak currently.... I thought they where easy McCain

Don't bother looking at electoral vote totals or clear landslide states (like alabama or michigan).

If there was one state that could kill McCain, it's Virginia. If he loses Virginia, its almost guaranteed that obama will win.

Key states to watch:

Florida

Ohio

If McCain loses Georgia, that can also kill his campaign.

Once again: don't bother with the electoral vote tallies, they're unimportant. It's all about the battleground states.

Skillerman, the same kind of thing happened at my high school. We had a school-wide mock election, and I forget the exact numbers but Obama had over 90%. Nobody can defend why they picked him though. -.-

My parents argued that why would news stations say the current statisics before the west's ballot close and it would discourage people to vote

Don't you know the first rule of MMO's? Anyone higher level than you has no life, and anyone lower than you is a noob.

People in OT eat glass when they are bored.

Yea, Baal, my history teacher told us something like that. If people on the west coast think "Hey, McCain's losing, why bother vote for him then...", then we might have some issues.

I'd say Connecticut is a landslide (72-27), otherwise it's still close. And the northeast always leans democratic, the south (Bible Belt) leans Republican. Like I said, once both are closed, only California will be somewhat important.

That's the danger. If people in the West see Obama doing as well as he is in the East (taking Pennsylvania, looking like Florida) they'll leave the long ques and not bother.

It might not matter anyway since CA will still go to Obama and the other states have practically no votes, but it does seem a bit daft. Here we have only one time zone and all constituencies have the same opening hours.

Wow. I fell asleep and when i woke up Obama had won Penn. and Sununu had lost. That is a pretty bad way to wake up. Jeff Beatty lost. He was a beast. If only I could trade either one of them for Saxby Chambliss.

Everyone so worried about the election, and I'm watching Rocky Marathon

If you do things right people won't be sure you've done anything at all.

Which network? I could go for that right now.

Thanks. Watching it now. This could take my mind off the elections now. Allen West is behind. :(
